| Bleh, programming can be a pain sometimes. I'm trying to write a Google Search function for a page. In a script tag, I have this (just a test so far): function google(mode) { var s="http://www.google.ca/" + mode + "?num=100"; if(document.google.safe.checked) { s += "&safe=active"; } else { s += "&safe=off"; } s += "&q=" + document.google.term.value; alert(s); } Then in a form I have two buttons which call "google('search')" and "google('images')" in onclick, and return false to prevent that stupid thing where it ignores the script and just redirects to the same page with some parameters added on. When I click the buttons, I get the error "google is not a function" and it acts as if it returned true. But what bugs me is if I type "javascript:google('images')" into the URL bar, it works fine! It recognizes the google function, so why don't these buttons? |

How can I make < Hey, this< If I set it to display: none, it leaves absolutely no space between them ("Hey, thisis text!"). If I set it to visibility: hidden, it leaves a huge gap, like: Hey, this is text! I want the second part to be directly under the first, like this: Hey, this is text! Is there some way to do that? (I'm using a span tag with a class, modifying the tag itself is not really an option.) A different sort of question... Is it possible to specify two CSS files, that if one isn't found it loads the second one instead? It could be used for a very awesome idea I just had. | But you gotta admit, 26.1K is a nice total file size! (Including CSS, and wootest badge hosted on my own server.) Now I know the red isn't too great. That's because, of course, this is the special Christmas edition. The normal blue one looks a lot better (and is only 22.8K). After someone relpies, I'll make a post with it to demonstrate. You may also note my 31337 use of CSS to insert just the text of my user rank (hiding the image and line break), and (hopefully it won't show up) a warning message for if the server goes down, so you know it's not just some really shitty layout. And I need only add 5 characters to switch to Christmas mode. <Thoughts? [edit] Due to the fact that I imported two versions of the same style sheet in this thread, and that the second one was done via editing the header, both will appear the same (which one shows up depends on if you have Auto-Update on or not). | The bugs allow for arbirtary code execution, so they could do anything that a program could do if you just walked up and ran it on the server. The worm doesn't appear to do anything besides change the PHP code, though. | ||||

Haha, funny story about that. This woman wanted to look up something online for me for some reason. She double-clicked the taskbar icon for IE, googled a bit, found a site and bookmarked it. She then tried to download Realplayer, but got sidetracked by one of those ads that looks like an error message and ended up closing the window. She then googled again, desparately trying to find the site she had bookmarked not 2 minutes ago. Finally, she gave up and asked if I had Google installed at home.
