i beleive Disch is talking in computer terms. 'A' is entirely different than 'a' to a computer. I don't see any reason why people would be angry with case insensitivity.

You're programming a very sophisticated technical machine, you're not writing a not to a friend in school . It would seem most logical that many conventions stay true to what a computer essentially is and how it interprets data, instead of obscuring it.

Radiohead's OK Computer - Exit Music (For A Film) : going back to the basics. One of my all-time favorite radiohead songs. fantastic

Roger Waters' Radio K.A.O.S. - The Tide is Turning :

I used to think the world was flat
Rarely threw my hat into the crowd
I felt I had used up my quota of yearning
Used to look in on the children at night
In the glow of their Donald Duck light
And frighten myself with the thought of my little ones
Burning
But oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
The tide is turning

Satellite buzzing through the endless night
Exclusive to moonshots and world title fights
Jesus Christ imagine what it must be earning
Who is the strongest, who is the best
Who holds the aces, the East or the West
This is the crap our children are learning
But oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
The tide is turning
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning

excellent stuff, i've always loved roger waters' solo tracks and the topics they discuss.

i think that is the reason why i did not think the results were satisfactory; i was expecting actual change. Instead of getting my hopes up, it should have just been labaled a Staff Re-sizing

also the speed with witch the actual meetings themselves took place leave little room for a well planned and concerted decision. I believe it was only a disservice to yourselves to have executed the whole operation in one short session (at least that is as i understand it, correct me if i misunderstand the facts)

well the two are completely different things. Assembler is not a compiled language, as it operates on a 1 to 1 ratio with processor instructions. but that's just nitpicking, i know what you meant

correct, it is not. But the answer to his question is still undoubtedly "Yes". You can edit assembler directly in hex, provided you have a list of the processors instructions and their hex equivilants.

Generally it is much easier to edit the rom directly (i'm fairly certain for almost everyone) than to go through the whole process of assembling and yadda yadda yadda. Hell when you work with it enough you end up memorizing the hex equivilants anyway (although i always have my cheet-sheet up in Metapad. i'm not DD )

diassemblers are great, but i would advise against one if you are only looking to edit the assembler code in the rom. As far as i know with SNES (which isn't far) there isn't a specially designed tool to produce accurate re-assembling code like the NES has with _Hyde_'s tools. Basically meaning you can take the thing apart and edit the file all you'd like, but you won't be able to put the game back together again and run it.

How about the program called Tracer? Is that recommended? Or one thats not run on DOS?

again it depends on exactly what you plan to do. For finding routines a tracer is very nice, better than disassembling the rom entirely it only takes apart what you ran in the emulator, making it *much* easier to find the desire section of code.

Without sounding like a dick, you really should learn the particular ASM that the SNES uses before you even download those programs. You won't get anywhere without that knowledge.

and of course, Dan is completely correct. All these things mean very little when you don't know assembler

(edit: ack, typos)

ahh, i read it fast and assume "a tracer". my mistake.

There's no doubt about it. He's not bullshitting when he says this ridiculous shit that he says -- he believes it.

well, Drjayphd half wins. He wins for foreign policy. The rest bush is a douche on. It's impossible to credit all of bush's foriegn policy actions to him alone. In fact pinning any of them on the president would be faulty. This president more than ant other's in recent history has relied on the policies, ideals, and convictions of his staff. That's exactly what he ran on in 2000, not his experience, but the combined experience of his staff.

look into Paul Wolfowitz's draft in the 70's proposing the effects of non-american-friendly Persian Gulf national taking control of the region after feeling the bad effects of America dealing with Iran.

Look to Powell asserting his precense more than any previous Joint Chiefs of Staff as the first in that office presiding after the Goldwater-Nichols act of 1986.

Look into rumsfeld's consistancy for being a total douche and snake in the grass

Look at Armitage, Cheney, and Rice. If you simply read into thier history of serving our government you can see exactly where are current foreign policy actions have taken root. To me, bush is almost a bystander as they enact their ideals.

Though, actually, it would probably be more likely that he was "persuaded" to resign. In any case, he was a voice of reason among the madness. I hate to say it, but I liked Colleen Powell. I'd gladly take him as our first black president if he ever had the guts to run.

I too generally liked Colleen Powell, although i can say that the Weinberger/Powell Doctrine certainly has it's flaws.

i was just curious if any of the next updates to the board will be updating and fixing the actual HTML output itself. Many inconsitancies, incorrect nesting, lack of tag closing, lack of tags period, make the the board code fairly digusting to be honest.

Is fixingthat going to be a priority down the road?

using the language as it was intended isn't being a "perfectionist", it's just using something as it was intended. writing HTML or software that outputs HTML like this is the equivilant of white trash, lame ass ghetto wigger talk, and l337speak.

i'm glad i don't respect you in any way, or i might have cared about that comment.

i just don't understand why it's so hard for people to use correct HTML, i guess maybe it's just too complicated for some people

or because it makes you feel good.

just in the way that eating donuts tastes good, but isn't necessarily the most healthy thing for you.

too many donuts, sweets, or whatever has adverse effects, such as weight gain. being overweight is bad for your.

just like too many donuts, too much pot can be bad for you.

it's really not more complicated than that. if you don't have the will power to say no to something that makes you feel good but is bad for you too often, then you probably shouldn't be smoking pot and eating donuts.
