NP: Breaking Benjamin-So Cold "Show me how it ends it's alright Show me how defenseless you really are Satisfied and empty inside That's alright, let's give this another try" Those lyrics are the ones that stand out the most to me in this song (like any). Such a catchy tune... took me a few listens, but it went from just growing on me to me loving it. It's my fave song off the album, which, mind you, is excellent on first listen (not as good every time afterward, though). That said, I might give their debut album, Saturate a listen. OSTER Project - Infinity 301 :: This is short, but it's a definite example of what hardcore techno and jazz music would be like if they were ever merged together. Those kind of merges sound really good depending how it works. I mean a string section and guitar distortion is uncommon by my listening.

Papa Roach-Not Listening This is the 2nd track off their latest, Getting Away With Murder, and one of the better songs off that album, which is nothing short of great. This is one of those CDs that requires multiple listens for it to grow on you, but when it does, you may find yourself poppin' this one in on a regular basis (if you're a fan of the metal genre, that is). I especially like this part of the song: "I told you before, wont listen anymore I told you before, lets settle the score I told you before, wont listen anymore I told you before, lets settle the score" |

Jerry Jeff Walker - Gonzo Compadres. I don't speak Spanish, so 90% of this song is lost on me. But it is a REALLY great country-wester song from my favourite Texas-guitar man. |

Keith Urban - "Who Wouldn't Want To Be Me" My friend is really into country music, and sung this song for a recent talent show. If you like the genre, you will find this song stuck in your head rather easily. Infectious. Plus, for what it's worth, the song puts me in a real good mood. That's saying something, considering midterms start tomorrow. |

Radiohead's OK Computer - Exit Music (For A Film) : going back to the basics. One of my all-time favorite radiohead songs. fantastic Roger Waters' Radio K.A.O.S. - The Tide is Turning : I used to think the world was flat Rarely threw my hat into the crowd I felt I had used up my quota of yearning Used to look in on the children at night In the glow of their Donald Duck light And frighten myself with the thought of my little ones Burning But oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning The tide is turning Satellite buzzing through the endless night Exclusive to moonshots and world title fights Jesus Christ imagine what it must be earning Who is the strongest, who is the best Who holds the aces, the East or the West This is the crap our children are learning But oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning The tide is turning Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning excellent stuff, i've always loved roger waters' solo tracks and the topics they discuss. |

Breaking Benjamin-Rain This song never ceases to touch my heart. The emotionally smooth lyrics, from the starting, mellowed-out verses to the artful chorus. "Rain rain go away. Come again another day. All the world is waiting for the sun." I could very well put this one in the same boat as other heartfelt songs such as Stone Sour's "Bother" or certain parts of "Sometimes" by Papa Roach. This is one of the better songs off that album; touchy yet catchy at the same time. |

Mogwai - R U Still In 2 It I saw a poster in a store advertising this post-rock band. I got home with my new CD, and sat down with it. I listened to the first song and instinctivly thought "ooooh, Boards of Canada, but not so dreary" or "Ulver, but not Norwegian", etc. I personally love this track and this band. Nice relaxing chill out music to get really baked to. Its a lot easier on you than Godspeed You Black Emperor!, but still a great listen. |

Maksim - Chopin's Revolutionary Etude in C Minor: Those that have actually gone and played DDR in the arcades might actually have heard this one before. It's been in machines since 7th mix under the Japanese name KAKUMEI. Pretty decent piano play by Maksim Mrivica with orchestra background. Definitely one of those that people will want to listen to if they like classical or just want a good piano piece to listen to.

ooh...that sounds like an interesting piece...i believe I need to now go find that one... currently listening to Mr. Brightside by The Killers I first heard this by watching the music video because it intregued me. The style the video was shot in was really crystal clear but it had that old time haze. It is hard to describe. Anyways, the opening three notes are catchy and so is the rest of the song. The lyrics I can sort of relate to. Probably because of the hidden meaning i find in the song. The music is light in comparison to other similar bands although it seems as of late, there are a lot of bands that don't try to blow our your eardrums. Heh, this is what i guess for listening to very little English music in the past few years. |

Currently listening to Apocalyptica's "Distraction" from their newest album "Apocalyptica" (hence the name). A nice track, along to heavy metal beats/e-guitar the known leading instrument is a cello; as known from that heavy metal band. "Life Burns!", "Fisheye" or the ballad "Farewell" are also some neat tracks, although I get an impression, that album is already slightly commercialized, to its music (like not relying too much on their main purposes - cello and rock/metal only, but mixing with other styles). It still is a good album (although "Cult" was slightly better - pretty cheap and very powerful and innovative music, like "Path" for example), but I hope they will remain where there was and not end up like Metallica and others. Would be a pity to see these three people be 'lost' in the mills of commercialization |

Papa Roach-Sometimes One of those "hybrid" songs their new album has to offer, if you want to call it that. And by "hybrid", I mean songs that have a mellow beginning, but get heavier from there. This one, however, undergoes a significant shift in pitch from the verses to chorus and has a catchy chorus, making it an even better listen, and one of the better songs off "Getting Away With Murder". |

Virt- "SPACE PIRATES" An alleged joke entry from January's Dwelling of Duels that, had it been entered as a serious entry, would likely have taken second place behind Virt's other piece, the 22-minute Godzilla that is Crystal Flash. "SPACE PIRATES" is the Metroid Ending Theme done in a disco style, complete with hand-clapping. I started cracking up instantly when I heard the intro, and it only got better with the introduction of the hand claps. |

Killswitch Engage-The End of Heartache The first time I ever heard from KSE was during the end credits of Resident Evil: Apocalypse, to my surprise. I really liked the song, so I decided to give this band a spin, and they're pretty good, from what I hear. Sounds more like the new wave of American heavy metal than the typical nu-metal trend that's clogging the metal air waves. Their new singer's voice sounds good... I don't get what's with the lack of enthusiasm with their replacement singer. I like his voice. The lyrics "this distance... this dissolution" stick out to me the most. Beautiful singing, great song. I might want to hear more from them, and (maybe) pick up an album or two from these guys. |

Amaenbo by Ai Otsuka She is one of the new JPop people I like now. Her songs are very catchy and moving. He does ballads to rock. She appears she will do many good things As for this song, this is a ballad about a Spoiled Child although, it appears the way she is singing, sounds like this is a good thing because when you are in love, you want to be spoiled by your other, right? |

virt - Crystal Flash, Approx: 21:52 long. Mm, this song completely rocks. The entire Super Metroid score nicely put together in one song, from the Dwelling Duels. (thanks to Empteye for bringing up a topic about the place). It's really a great song, even if it is almost half an hour long, it's that great. Yes, I love videogame music. |

Forever Yours (Acoustic Remix) by Every Little Thing This is one of the best remixes of the group I've heard (not a lot of competition considering they have only 4 other remix CDs). The range and depth of Kaori's voice in this track makes it sound like she is singing right next to you. As for the song, I came to like the song in it's trance remix. Then I heard this version and was blown away. |

Megadeth - In my darkest hour "You'll never know how hard I tried to find my space and satisfy you too. Things will be better when I'm dead and gone don't try to understand, knowing you I'm probably wrong." It's a good kickass emotional song, now im like never emo, but if you were I'd think this is the song to listen to because it's not all like sad, the music kinda tells you to move on. |
