Can this level be modified safely? Is it even a regular "level", I know level 0 looks like it but I think thats just where the game takes you if you mess up an exit or path or something, a "default" level. Also level 100. Anyways, I just want to know if I can change that Bonus Level so that you have to work for those extra one ups (jumping holes dodging goombas...) If I can modify that level how would I end it? Thanks for all the responses guys. I took out the bonus blocks, added the side exit sprite, added a few palm trees, some throw pillows....it looks great and works perfectly. I havent tried getting 100 bonus stars in a submap, but Im confident it should work perfect too. No bonus lives for my game, ha! Check out my site to see my progress. | |||

Perfect thanks. Now that I got that working, does anyone have any clever ways to get a cutscene in there somehow. Like maybe after you press "New Game", it shows a background of my choosing, then some text at the bottom of the screen. I nice little explanation of the situation would be nice before you start battling monsters. | |||

Nice, I got an acceptable cutscene with a nice nackground and text. Another question: Is there a way to always have a window displaying a number of my choosing. Like always have my hero's HP displayed, or number of potions. Is there a way to add a "Category" to my menu? Like under "Items" theres "Key Items" . I love this program, I just want to get as much out of it as possible. | |||

1st Question How is damage calculated in this program? What does dex, int, agility...translate to in battle? Can I change how damage and defense is calculated? How would I make it so, Damage= Strength of char + Attack power of weapon. 2nd Question... I have an event that has the graphic of a door. You cant pass through it. I made it so it deletes the event if you posses a Door Key. It works fine until I leave the map. I come back and the door (event) is there again. How do I permanently delete it? |

Worked perfect. Thanks Jack-AI (Again) Anyways..Check this out.. Hero Strength=50, Weapon Attack=150....Damage to Monster is 320-380 (360) Hero Strength=50, Weapon Attack=75.....Damge to Moster is 85-115 (100) Hero Strength=100 Weapon Attack=150....Damage to Monster is 585-650 (618) Hero Strength=100 Weapon Attack=75....Damage to monster is 140-175 (158) NO critical hits Can anyone crunch these numbers out and give me a formula or some sort of a system that lets me get a specific damage hit. Im Asuming only strength affects your damage. If so what does dex affect? Inteligence? |

I figured I was asking alot there, but I think I will be fine just using the Items sub-screen for KeyItems. All I did was make an item that when used triggered a "Common Event" which trigers a message box with my key item info. Anyways, guess what..another question..hehee I modified the Hero graphic and a monster battler graphic. Very minor modifications..like make him wear gloves...Now the hero and monster have a "White Background box effect". Im sure this has happened to many people. How can I modify the "sprite" graphics without getting that nasty after effect? |

Worked like a charm, thanks Chris. I wasent importing my images, just putting them in the folders..they worked so I didnt bother with the import button...Guess I should have done it properly from the beginning. Anyway.. I wana make a skill where I add or swap out a party member for another during the battle. Is it possible? I create a new skill and mess with the common event field...then what? Also..how can I change a variable into a string.I have a numerical variable that keeps track of how many stars (custom Item) I have. I want to display the number of "Stars' I have in a window. Well the monster in question has a Physical Defense of 95. And what do you mean by RGSS scripting? You mean the Scrpit Editor in Rpg Maker>Tools>Script Editor. If so, excaclty where in the Script Editor can I find these number calculations. Thanks. | |||

In the conditional branch window there is an option for, "Monster "1-8" is Present. Im asuming that this event would look to see if that type of moonster exists in the current map. But I cant make it work. The drop down menu for choosing a monster is empty. How does this work? | |||

Its a 2.8 Megabyte file.. Anyways, Vey very nice. Is this a completly original engine? Because it feels virtually identical to the Classic Sonic Games, very impressive indeed. I had no problems with missing dll's or other files when installing. The gameplay in general runs flawlessly. There is a slight slowdown at the beginning of the level most likely because of all the item powerup block things (which you would probably never actually place like that in a REAL level.) I also got some uncomfortable slowdown in the water (which is green, why green?). Sonic should slow down in water, but right now it seems to drastic.The font used when you beat the level is a little funky too. A couple questionable enemy placement issues, but all in all, some genuine fun can be had. I only hope my game is as well put together and fun. The script you used for "Key Items" in your items menu, did you get it off a site? Or did you write it yourself. Either case, would it be possible for you to help me get that feature in to my game. Thanks. Anyways I have just uploaded a rather interesting game to my website. Its not an RPG but it was made with RPG Maker XP. Any fan of the Metroid games should check it out. I made this with RPG Maker XP. I tried to create a platforming action game in the Metroid Style. Ended up using actual Metroid rips. Anyways, check it out, its most definetly not even close to finished, lol or even working right...but I just wana see if its worth continuing this project.
