Well, I'll be honest.

The hack rocks.

I like the way you set up the star road.

The yoshi sanctum is neat, but it looks a little messy. Other than that, the hack has a lot of promise. keep it up!

Yes. In ANY SMW game, there will always be only one or two exits per level. never more.

Hmmmm. So where did I go wrong? I'll just have to try more offsets systematically, I guess.

ESIT; got thwe blocks to work, sorta... the OFF block seems to like flashing the wall when mario is only a few pixel in on the left side only. No reason I can think for this, because the three-line code souldn't do that. Is SMW multi-threaded?

You can do that with layer-1 event animations. I'm using that in my hack too.

Hey!

I downloaded a DW3 patch, but Ican't get it to work. I know the sounds noobish, but I have tried appyling it to DW, which works, SMW original, which corrupts the ROM, and I have tried making a new patch by adding the DW patch to one ROM and both the DW and the DW3 patches to another and making an IPS, which works up til you get around to the sprites and some map-16 pages. Could anyone point out to me what I am doing wrong?

No. On the DW ROM the file works perfectly, but only after I create a new IPS patch. I dunno why, but the straight downloaded ROM music selection stops working. It gets rather complex. I'll just have to export all of my work to the ROM that does work, I guess. might as well get my custom blocks to work.

BTW, could anyone please look in the thread "Having problems with on/off custom block "? I edited my last post to include new info I would like answered please.

now there's an idea. for the X/Y buttons, you might have to alter other code to disable button X interaction for other mario states, and other stuff. I'm only throwing out ideas, though so I'm willing to bet they'll be off.

BTW, what about mario Sprite GFX limitations. I'd have to say they'd need to be overcome first.

Small hacker made SMSBE for the purpose of editing Layer 3, but unfortunately there are many limitations to layer 3's size. The would have to be ASMmed out first before that status bar could be put on layer 3.

Great hack, BTW. I'm looking forward to this one.

Huh. There's a lot've people these days who eem to be pushing the limits more than ever.

Hey!

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a few questions about the coins counters and all that.

1. does anyone know how to disable giving 1UPs at 100 coins?

2. does anyone know how to modify the code that sets coins to 0 to at 100 to set coins to 99 instead?


Never mind. I got it to work by learning machine code from examining hyperhacker's post oin the ROM locations thread.

Hey!

I was writing new code over existing code in my ROM, and I need to know one thing. I'm using smaller code than the original, and I need to know how to add filler to take up space. right now i filled the empty spaces with 38 (SEC). is this the right code? It worked in ZSNES, but I'm wondering if that will work in a ral SNES. if not, could anyone tell me what code to use? I don't want to delete code because JSR and JSL routines would be broken.

The reason for that is it was preexisting code and this is my first try working with Machine code. I'd say i'm doing pretty good for it.
