Emily instinctively created a shield of water magic in front of the fireball as it came toward her, which didn't have any effect! She was hit for full damage.

Hurro cawed angrily and flew out of the way of the fireball aimed his way in time to dodge it.

Emily: Oh, you want Hurro to join us? You should watch out, he has a bit of a temper problem. I hope he didn't take that too badly...

Hurro swooped down at Ryan, bringing a trail of powerful wind behind him! As Hurro neared Ryan's head, he pulled straight back up, causing the wind to blow Ryan's way, and possibly knock him over.

Emily shot another arrow to Ryan, this time aimed just barely over his head, so it would land behind him. If he moved too much, the arrow could actually hit him, and deal much more damage...

OOC: Nice attack...but...
-----

Ghost held up his shield as the flames came toward him. When the fire hit the shield, it was completely absorbed! Some flames made it passed Ghost's shield, and they struck him without hurting him a single bit.

Ghost: Can't banish me...can't burn me. Why not just accept your defeat now?

Ghost faded away into his spirit form, becoming nearly invisible in the darkness. Slowly, quietly, he drifted around her, making a wide circle. Then, as he was behind her, he materialized in mid air!

Ghost: HYAH!

Ghost swung his blade at an upward angle while spinning 360 degrees. As Ghost finished his circle, he phased out again, and flew to Lapis's other side. From there, Ghost waited a few more seconds before becoming solid again.

Cyberaptor: Thanks for your help. But don't worry, I am not completely obsolete now.

Cyberaptor pressed his claw against a small button on his light armor, which responded by detaching a small metal stick. Cyberaptor caught the stick and twirled it, causing it to grow in length to about five feet!

Cyberaptor: My cyberstaff may help us now...

Cyberaptor too decided to attack Kamek. With another twirl of his stick, he caused a beam of green gas-like stuff to shoot out, which stretched from the end of his staff to the wizard! It would deal medium damage, but was difficult to dodge.

Emily sidestepped the Pyrokenisis, now knowing better than to try to extinguish it. Hurro cawed again, warning Emily that Ryan could still predict her moves, but didn't attack.

Emily thought for a moment, and then swiftly pulled out another small sack from her bag, this one containing a brownish powder. Quickly, she fitted it to an arrow with a strap that was on the bag, and shot the arrow straight over Ryan's head! As it flew, it left a trail of the brown dust, and if Ryan touched any of it, he would become confused, as well as take some light earth damage. Being confused would probably hinder his ability to foretell Emily's attacks for a few turns, and buy her some time.

OOC: When Ghost is solid, he can only affect the material world. However, when he is in his spirit form, he can affect spiritual things, AND his weapon can still attack material things.
-----

Ghost didn't bother dodging Lapis's attack, and so was quite surprised when he felt the sword connect to his leg. Ghost floated back to gain some distance for the moment.

Ghost: Your attack hurt me? How? Since I gained my immunity, the only way I could be hurt now is if...

Ghost paused for a moment. Then suddenly, without even a second's warning, he had shot forward at just barely below the speed of sound to Lapis, with his spear pointed forward! The attack would deal medium damage, and Ghost would stop at the other side of Lapis, at a far range. Ghost did this technique because of its high success rate, and he wanted to see how his weapon affected her now. If he hit her, he'd know that she, too, was in a spiritual state...

OOC: It's been a while since Darkflight posted...maybe we should all slow down a bit for him?
-----

A few hours after their departure from the mine, Blue and Kyle arrived at the edge of the Grapevine Jungle, just at the beginning of a dirt path. It was dark and quiet inside, and a bit unnerving. It seemed necessary for the two to stop in front of it and gaze inside.

Blue: So, here we are, at the first leg of our amazing journey. Once we nab this key from the Nightmare Weed, we'll be ahead of everyone else!
Kyle: About that, Blue. I suspect that someone is already in front of us, and I think that it's those air pirates. They probably have the Radio Ring that we were supposed to get at the mine.
Blue: Really? Hmm...maybe we'll run into them, and we can snatch the ring.
Kyle: I'd rather not run into air pirates. They can be a nasty lot.

The two waited a few more seconds, and then descended into the jungle, following the dirt path!

---

Far ahead of the mage and breegull, the Basilisk airship floated just above the treetops, no longer cloaked. Some pirates stood at the stern of the airship, gazing down at the trees and fiddling with tracking devices. One of the pirates looked up suddenly, thinking he heard a noise, sort of like clanging metal.

Pirate: Hey, did you hear that?
Other pirate: Hear wha'?
Pirate: It sounded like someone in armor.
Another pirate: Youse crazy! Get back to work!

Suddenly, there was a flash of magenta, and the pirate's head rolled off of his neck! The other pirates raced forward in alarm, and one by one, they were beheaded as well. The last pirate to survive dashed to pull an alarm, but found himself cut off by an invisible force, holding his arm away from the switch. He stared in the direction of the force, and slowly, the image of a velociraptor clad in futuristic armor appeared before him! Cyberaptor held the pirate's arm in his claw with far outmatched strength.

Cyberaptor: Who leads this crew? Where is he?

The pirate said nothing, but slowly reached for his concealed blade. Cyberaptor saw this movement easily.

Cyberaptor: Rotten pirate scum. I've no sympathy for you.

Cyberaptor lifted the pirate by his arm, and tossed him off of the airship! After this, he cloaked again, and continued down the deck of the ship, avoiding the pirates working on board. The velociraptor made his way to the bow, where the geometric dome was located - Jackson's private quarters.

Computer *thinking to Cyberaptor*: Watch your step when dealing with the captain. I have drawn reports from villages attacked by these pirates, and there is something very peculiar about his fighting style.

Cyberaptor arrived at the doors to the dome, which was guarded by spider-like robots. Invisible metal ropes came out of Computer, and attached themselves to the robots' heads, taking full control. The doors opened in front of Cyberaptor, and the robots forgot all about the incident as Cyberaptor went into the dome.

Emily had her swords out again in a flash, ready for close combat. She blocked Ryan's sword, but the kick seemed to come too fast! Emily rolled backward after getting struck, and was on her feet again in no time.

To attack, she ran back at Ryan, flipped over him, and swung both her swords down at him as she passed over his head. Emily planned to land behind him, and make a low sweep at his legs with both blades as she recovered from the jump.

Kyle and Blue looked uncomfortably at each other as Vincent seemed to lose consciousness.

Blue: Yeah...there's been a lot of fainting around here lately.
Kyle: Isn't that the guy from the mine? How'd he get here so fast?
Blue: He must have been following us! Hey, what do you say about tying him up here, and leaving him as lunch for some tigers?
Kyle: No. I want to talk to him - he seems to know my name.
Blue: Eh, all right.

Blue walked over to Vincent, and pulled out a water egg from his pack. Blue then dropped it on his head, and the egg exploded into a wave of water that swirled everywhere! Vincent was bound to be woken by that.

Blue: Hey, are you alright? Cause we want some questions answered right now!

-----

A door opened, and Cyberaptor entered Jackson's room undetected by man or robot. Glancing at the far side of the room, Cyberaptor saw the captain turn around toward him, and Cyberaptor approached.

Cyberaptor: You there! You are the captain of this airship, correct?

Jackson stared curiously at Cyberaptor, but walked casually toward him as well.

Jackson: ...Yes, I am. Now who are you, and why do believe you can just walk into my chamber uninvited? I should have you killed right now.
Cyberaptor: I am called Cyberaptor, and I am here to put a stop to your treasure hunt. Will you quit without a fight? I warn you, I excel in combat.
Jackson: Oh, you've heard about the treasure, have you? And now you want some of it yourself? Well I'm not going to stop because of any damned lizard wearing a cheap robot suit. Looks like you'll just have to fight!
Cyberaptor: I predicted such. This is your end, captain!

Laser-like magenta claws grew out of Cyberaptor's gauntlets, and Jackson drew his sword!

Jackson: You have no idea who you're dealing with, reptile!

Jackson's blade glowed with orange energy as he swung it at Cyberaptor!

Jackson: Hah! What?

The blade passed right through! Jackson had attacked a hologram. The real Cyberaptor de-cloaked and jumped at Jackson from behind! Jackson quickly dropped to the floor and stuck his sword upward, and Cyberaptor flew right into it. There was a loud CLANG as a huge dent was put in Cyberaptor's shiny armor...but it burned, too! The armor started to melt into a burning liquid!

Jackson: So your armor's not that tough, is it?

A small oval-shaped device unhinged from Cyberaptor's right claw, and it was colored with a red side and a cyan side. The device rotated so the cyan side was pointed forward, and shot a beam of potent chilled air at Jackson as he charged again! Jackson was frozen solid for a moment, but the ice started melting immediately around his heated sword. Cyberaptor aimed the ice beam at his own melting armor and froze it in place, making a quick fix. It would still need to be repaired later, though.

Cyberaptor: I'll have the upper hand here, Atlas!

A metallic tentacle shot from Cyberaptor's computer pack, and walloped Jackson right in the head! Jackson fell to the ground, but recovered from his frozen state. Cyberaptor made to smack Jackson once more with the metal arm, but the pirate cut it off!

Computer: Earth Pulse and Super Fan techniques now disabled. Come on, Cyberaptor! We can defeat this human!

Cyberaptor's antenna shot a green beam at Jackson, which traveled up and down his body.

Computer: Scan complete! Enemy is at 85% life force, and... ... ...
Cyberaptor: What is it?

Computer spoke to Cyberaptor telepathically.

Cyberaptor: !!! I see! I must finish this quickly if I am to avoid such a fate!

Jackson, now at a range, pulled a gun from his belt and shot a powerful gamma ray at Cyberaptor! Cyberaptor was struck, but returned the attack by firing his own energy beam. Jackson swiftly dodged the beam, and a hole was burned into the wall right where he formerly stood! Jackson fired more shots, but Cyberaptor avoided them all by flying out of the way with his jetpack. As Cyberaptor reach the opposite end of the room, he doubled back, and charged straight at Jackson while firing more energy beams! One beam burned off Jackson's mechanical hand.

Jackson: *sigh* Now I've got to repair that again!

Jackson shot one gamma ray at Cyberaptor just before he swiped with his laser claws, and Cyberaptor veered off to the side and crashed into a wall. Jackson walked over to the dazed raptor, rubbing the side of his head.

Jackson: Fighting does entertain, but I'm growing quite tired of your impertinence. It's time I show you my true colors, Cyberaptor.
Cyberaptor: No, you don't!

Cyberaptor found himself stuck in place by a trapper grenade, as Jackson pulled his most wicked technique...

-----

A minute later, Cyberaptor fell out of the hole in the ship and crashed into the jungle below, quite lifeless.
