Not one. " Sure, I can. Literally there are hundreds of different religions. A universal movement like that has to have some backing. Additionally, proving and disproving something that is inherently illogical and irrational by its effectual nature is simply problematic. Disproving it is the only course of action. Therefore, I ask you: where is YOUR proof? "Now if you're done dancing around the issue of whether or not somethign applies or not, I welcome you to try your hardest to proove there's a heaven." | Next up, Spain. Odd thing is that all of these nations are in the majority Catholics. You know, a month ago...I was totally for it. But now, although I'm still whole-heartedly for it, I've a few problems with it. What I want to see is the government get out of MARRIAGE all together. No gay, no straight. I want to see the government hand out civil unions, therefore allowing the recipients to seek sanctification. edit:: Although I totally don't see what the problem is with it. It's not destroying marriage in any mean. I was actually talking to my mom. It's insane, she is still married to my dad. What's CRAZIER is that society is still holding together. No ravening beaver has attacked my house, kill my dogs and turned me into a homosexual. The problem is that there is no inherent problem with legislated gay marriage. No magical apocalypse is coming. Marriage as a "traditional" establishment isn't even 1000 years old. Up until then symbolic marriages happened all the time between men, in many different cultures. And I'm not saying "you and I are married now as brothers", it was "you and I farm together, live together...we became brothers. Now we are joined for eternity". Then there was a schism in the Church leading to the break-off of the Orthodox, and a lot of the influences that the practise had...died off in the West and then it was outlawed in the East. Aditionally, I've heard a lot of good arguments using scriptural sources as a way of defending a pro-SSM stance. Of course, the people who were being debated against got angry at this and literally started shouting and screaming that they were abusing the word of God, and that it was impossible for humans to understand what He meant because He is pure. Then this same person turns around and starts quoting Bible passages seemingly "proving" that God doesn't just want gays to not marry, but HATES them. The other debater said "well, how can you say that? You can't interpret His words...". The other one just stormed away from his side of the podium. It was hilarious. Plus, I have a problem with limiting civil rights of peoples. The LBGT in this nation have had to work hard for equality outside of the big cities. The problem is that there are small, but influential groups that receive massive funding from the U.S. that are trying to not only stop marriage (and failed ) but also trying to limit other facets of gay life. Some of the fringe groups are calling for illegalization of homosexuality and mandatory "ex-gaying" experiences. The majority simply want to alter the Hate Crimes legislation to exclude gays from criticism (which is something that REALLY scares me).(edited by Ziff on 06-29-05 10:48 AM) |

| I don't quite know what to make of this. It certainly is neat science, but I'm questioning on how applicable it is on humans. I'm assuming that with humans it will cause some damage. You know, our brain needs a lot more resources than a dogs. And there are various other more glaring physiological difference. Kawaii, I'm 99% sure that suicide victims are a waste of resources for this procedure  I think that the proper patients are people who have been in major car crashes and are losing blood like mofos. |
