meh, I was going to enter, but I know that I won't be able to get around to it before the 22nd. I look forward to seeing what others have done though.

After seeing that video the other day, but anticipation for this game doubled, or maybe even tripled. It looks like it'll be a very nice game, though still no word on touch screen/dual screen functions. |

SMB3. I could say why I like it over SMW, but every other post has covered that, so I'll go for the one feature not mentioned: I prefer the item storage system of 3 to world anyday. I didn't enjoy the reserve box. |

Both Chain Chomps and Bob-ombs are amoung my favorites, but the Bob-omb needed my voting love. We're talking about modern Bob-ombs right? Not those dumb ones in SMB2 with the arms?

How can you think Thomps are ugly? They're tough, that's all. For ugliest....Those black pointy fish in SMB3, or the entire cast of SML. And maybe Chuck, I never was a chargin' Chuck fan, he just doesn't fit into the Mario realm if you ask me. |

let's see...my mario acheivements? Well I beat SMB1, 2,3 and SML 1, 2 all within one 70 minute lecture on the GBA. I used SMB deluxe, and then the SMAdvance version of 2 and 3. I've also beat SMA4 ( Mario 3) with the gameboy upside down. I've Also done a coinless runthrough of Mario 3 (all levels) and finished off worlds 1 - 4 starting each level with a frog suit and not getting hit. |

Llots of red. Not necessairly bad, but be careful. The fortress in particular needs to be recolored, it's too hard to see what's what. Some of the graphics need to be touched up, the standard blocks tend to be half and half. Just out of curioustiy, where did you get the idea for this hack? And where did all the "L"s come from? the cleared levels, the pswitches, they all have L's. |

Excellent job, I love the new enemies that I've seen so far, and I can only wonder what else you've got in store. That level with the hills and little ponds full of cheep-cheeps is my favorite.

nope. I believe there is a Mushroom house editor that is compatable with SMA4, but as for any other type of hacking, it's al about hex editing thus far.

I've never had any problesm with SNESTool, and I've used it for years. Every patch I've used (granted, most of those are SMB3 hacks) has worked fine the first time.

Excellent work! this thing looks like it'll be really good. Mix it in with some of my hacked levels and I might put together a demo soon! One probem I noticed with the demo however, is that the boat at the dock in world 2 is not there. It may have something to do with the hammer bros/help speech bubbles being in the original spots as well. Do you need a specific save file to make the sprite changes work? |

Yeah, I just had to start witha fresh save and all was well. Very good job! I've noticed that there are quite a few similarities between the SMB3 code and SMA4, so like you said, someone with plenty of SMB3 hacking experience might be able to help. I know the SMB3 discombobulator has world map editing. One more question though, how do you change the position of the pointers and sprites? Whenever I tried to just type in the desired location, it doesn't change in the position field. |

Anyone know where I can get it? I recall a topic about it a while ago, but was unable to find it.

In Mario 3, how do you make autoscrolling levels (such as the airships) become freescrolling like the other levels, if you remove the autoscroll enemy, they just do some weird scroll without mario on the screen.

http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=10412 The list in that topic covers some of the objects and enemies, specifying which are 4 and 5 bytes. As for the enemies, that topic says the lassst byte is always zero, but I think the byte that is commonly zero is actually the first byte for an enemy, and is sometimes 01 (used often in airship levels). So perhaps it is some kind of enemy bank indicator? And is there any particular reason why the e-world world map objects aren't available? The special tress, blue mushroom house, special castle, ghost house...and the like? Are they somehow locked out from the main game? |

what's the point of the enemies belonging to someone?

In SMB3, I've noticed that when you enter a pipe/door, the coordinates of where in the next area it takes you are based on where the object was that caused you to leave the last area (the door or pipe), or defaults to 0,0. I was wondering how one might change these coordinates to make mario emerge at a certain point within the new level. Since this game is hacked to death, I'm sure someone has figured this out. Also, how do areas point to 2 or more different areas using pipes/doors. I know some levels have more than one alternate areas, but I have yet to look into how they do this. |

Excuse my ignorance, as I truly do appreciate and respect all the hard work put into this, but what exactly is the point of a perfect Mario 3 remake when it is already available to play? It just seems like a lot of work changing SMW into SMB3 when one could simply just play SMB3.

I'm very interested to see the e+ hack finished, I thought of a similar idea using SMA4 and just hacking the game to access the levels from a savestate. I've often played through the levels using a world map in my head, simply reorganizing the order I play the levels in. Good luck!

Good find! I enjoy all of these tracks, just need a few more songs to fill up a disc. |
