Close, but no cigar. It's what I like to call "Brute Force Coercion". I'll let you work out the details, but what it boils down to is a spiked paddle and stiletto boots.

What you should do is maybe after you get everything for the Kupa looking good, you can say give him some totally sweet shades or a different skin tone or something like that to make him stand out more.

Well, you could at least make the wind *look* like it's supposed to with custom animation. One of the options on the drop down list in the Edit Extended Animation Frames menu option (I believe it is the second drop down list) is On/Off Activated. The first 8 frames are animated when the switches are set to Off, and vice versa for the second 8. Making it actually activate the wind is another story, but this would be my first step.

I found the offsets for the characters you pick up along the way a long time ago. Like, so long in fact, that I don't even remember what all of the bytes are, but obviously I found it so self explanatory that I didn't bother documenting it (don't ask me what I was thinking). I think these are from a headered rom.

It's covered broadly, yes, but I'd like to see it laid out in plain english. Avoiding things like pipes not working or getting killed by a poorly placed exits or anything else that renders a hack unplayable is a given. I'm talking little things, like using enemies from the wrong tilesets cuz "it looks cool" (which sadly enough, some people actually think) or forcing the player to make use of skill tricks like holding two items at once. I absolutely hate things like that. They completely ruin what would otherwise be good hacks because the designer didn't take time to polish things up.

Adding new overworlds is probably (key word) just a simple matter of altering the overworld load routine to allow for some additional pointers, and of course actually adding new overworlds to the rom (possibly assembled directly in hex, or not). I have no idea how simple this actually is, but with some work, it would probably be doable.

Convert the file into SNES 4bpp graphics, then run Tile Counter on it with output enabled. It will auto eliminate any repeats.

The newest version recognizes mirrors, only the first and crappy version didn't.
