Most people suck at gambling, they ought to be teaching people how to gamble at earlier ages so they can actually make money off of it.

Given that they have a verb for "going to McDonalds" something like "makodoru", yeah they do have McDonalds.

Furaizu ga hoshii?

I rather have lies that make me feel good than have to deal with the gritty truth. Who would make such a website?

Uh.. I would think that $6 ought to fill someone up. It depends on what you get. I'd probably get a dbl cheeseburger, a large mcflurry, a drink, and maybe if I was still hungry a thing of mcnuggets with BBQ. You must have an uber metabolism if you're still hungry after that.

Posted on 10-20-04 10:02 AM, in Seriously... Have you ever thought of killing people? Link
I can recall one time where I was hanging out with some people and it appeared to me that a certain guy had tried to seriously injure my best friend. He injured him only slightly, but I was deeply convinced he had attempted to do more. I'd never felt a burning rage like before and haven't since. I rarely experience irrationality like that and it lasted for several minutes. I seriously considered killing him before I came to my senses. It took a lot of self restrain on my part.

I'm also a private person. I wouldn't want all the press coverage that inevitably follows when you kill someone.

To me it all sounds like elitist bull crap. Culture shift happens, you have to deal with it. The same sort of thing has been happening for a long time here in the states. Nowadays when I go to the mall a noticeably large portion of the people would be described as "chavs," as the website put it. It only became noticeable to me in the past 2-3 years I suppose.

While I wouldn't generally run with that sort of crowd, I think it's something akin to racism when you detest someone so much just for the things they do to fit in, etc. Granted you may not like it but why waste your time talking about it. Move on. Hell, in my college town there are "townie" hicks that we make fun of but I'm not about to go out and make a website denouncing them for being themselves.

Well, it's seems fairly low based on chavscum.co.uk because some of the pictures I looked at simply looked like ordinary (i.e. nonaffluent) people who probably have a [perceived as] substandard accent.

With regards to blacks here, it's kind of stupid when you criticize someone for the way they talk. When a black guy talks like a thug, he gets judged, when he talks like a white guy, they wonder why he's trying be like a white guy. As though he's expected to talk with an ebonics-esque accent.

Posted on 10-20-04 11:44 PM, in Should you keep somebody alive at all costs? Link
Suffering is a part of life that people have to endure to survive. Everyone suffers in some way, or at least I would imagine so. This is not a matter of the child being "allowed to die." If I'm in intense pain, as I have been in before, I don't want to DIE. I want the pain to stop, not my life.

Personally, I look at it as economics. If the parents are attached enough to their child that they are willing and capable to shovel out the dough to keep the kid alive, so be it. I don't think it's the doctor's choice. The doctor doesn't face the same direct emotional impact of losing that child that the parents will.

If I was in that situation I would also consider whether there was any hope that my baby would somehow grow out of this condition. If money runs out as well as hope for the baby's future autonomy, he/she's dead meat. It's just the way it goes.

OMg I haven't seen utter ownage like that in quite some time. As I was watching it I couldn't believe it was really happening. It's the kind of stuff I would tell those pundits were I to actually go on that sort of show.

Tchh. It's the other way around. People desperately want to know the truth. And unless you're an insider in the government, how the hell do you know? I'm not saying go out and be a conspiracy theorist, but a little skepticism will never hurt you.

Furthermore, I don't believe it's often that ordinary people are lied to by authorities, rather critical details are omitted to soften/sterilize news. Far more happens in the world than what you see on CNN.

Well if you're admin you can give yourself whatever post count you want, so I guess I'm shooting for that rather than taking the time for meaningful posts. I want to abuse power like Valcion and Yiffy Kitten and .... [list goes on].

Heh well sometimes you wish certain people would stay banned. I don't really have anything against Kario, but my post count went above his while he was banned, and now that he's unbanned he's like 150 posts ahead of me, and it was up to 220 at one point. Not that it matters, I guess I'm compulsive about some things.

i.e. banninate him

True, but I think that since Anakin turned back to the light while an old man, he should appear as a ghost that way.

My roommate (who buys everything) bought these about a month ago. He had never seeen a single star wars movie until then. I made him sit down and watch them just to be sure of it. I'm not a huge fan but to me it's just a cultural staple to have seen them, he would seem ignorant and uniformed having not.

And, yeah, Episode II blew pretty much. About as much as I. sigh, where can you find good actors nowadays...
