Heh, my answer is easy in that poll [x]Yes [ ] No Like most of the people said, it should depend individually; as for me, if someone is new and bumped a thread once, I won'T to anything but, depending on what thread it is, close it and ask the user to stop bumping in future. If he/she doesn't react, there's still a way by getting harsher and harsher |

Originally posted by Schwa No, upload them normally; when they are on the server (use the "rename" option on the browser upload page or inside your FTP), then rename their extension to .txt Some browsers (e. g. I don't know too much about MM hacking, but as for me, the altered levels (though not the GFX itself) look nice. The fact you need to call Rush more is nice, but what happens if you die and Rush's energy is low; or like if you are trapped on a platform and larger gaps left and right from you ? But the most important thing is, as it seems here, you changed the levels they don't look similar to the original ones at all - that's the most important fact besides the level design |

I'm in dialup-land ... wait - smallband-flatrate on 64kbps ... what the ... is that called ? I'll switch to broadband probably in two or three months if I still have a job; I will go to university and I need some money - the flatrate is even five euros cheaper per month; but I'll probably have to pay a fee for the DSL modem/activation |

If people cannot convince their parents to get DSL (assuming the majority of the people live at home): What about trying to get a job and work for the montly fee ? Today's prices for flatrates aren't too high, so for a these few 20 or 30 US-$ a lower amount of working might convince the parents ("Mom, I wanna have broadband; and I'll work for that alone!" ), so never forget any option - it's another thing if broadband still is not available or really way too expensive offers exist, like broadband via satellite only; you need a normal telephone "back"-data channel for sending data packages and very often there's no flatrate at all |

My crystal sphere doesn't tell me anything; my clairvoyant powers aren't good enough, I even cannot guess what are your system data and what editor you are using Seriously, of what do you talk about ? If you mean RM2k/3, inside cycles sometimes the entire event tends to slow down or to freeze the game; put in a wait command with 0.0 or 0.1 seconds inside the cycle, that helps mostly If you cannot access the menu, check not if you didn't disable the main menu and forgot to re-enable it (Disable Menu command -> Enable Menu ) |

The default floor tiles are bad, the pattern is repetitive and really is destroying the map itself; the entire landsape is way too plain and lacks changes; except these small two "hills". The coast above the lava lake is too straight what doesn't look too good, too. Try to include more different and more randomly placed objects; in the original one it was the Valley of Bowser and already designed nicely (edited by Surlent on 07-20-04 05:58 PM) |

Yes, ban all people who are a little more open-minded and say problems directly: "YOUR LAYOUT SUCKS, I'll DELETE IT" instead of"You colored Pokemon-layout with blinking GIFs, an enmebbed MIDI and a red font in size 14 is not good" |

Not everything on a message board should be taken seriously Just see the connection between the last two global forum announcements - both by Valcion - and that thread |

A neat big Chinese dragon, spread over the back ... heh, dragons are nice ... but since this is also a question of keeping it for life, I'll rather wait If I ever will think about getting a tattoo, then probably only s smaller one, like on the bottom part of a leg; a friend has a skull on his left leg and it really looks very nice (edited by Surlent on 07-21-04 05:26 PM) |

Without any skills it is rather impossible to get a NES sound file from a game ... and handling the "weird" file format NSF correctly (since it is similar to a GBS - one file contains the entire soundtrack), but as for tutorials on NSF you can check Zophar's ripping guide below the "Related links" entry: http://www.zophar.net/nsf/ It's not that easy like to rip an SPC file from SNES; you'll need to deal more with hex editor, 6502 assembly than just to open up a menu and capturing the song easily |

I love Romancing SaGa 3, since it is one of the hardest RPGs ever, even for all people who like to level a lot (you need insanely high stats to be able to even survive the final boss quite a while ), and until I could take out Forneus' () and Destroyer's () lights, it took quite a long time. The difficulty should increase gradually and should challenge the player indeed, but I hate really lame attacks in RPGs as for essential bosses, like - damages which are higher than the max. HP of a character - attacks which affect the entire party and kill a high number of them, non_blockable - multi-hit attacks combined with an insane high speed If it's an optional boss, it doesn't disturb that much since you don't need to kill it to proceed. But I really like challenging bosses which have shitloads of HPs, not like the most FF final bosses, like Kefka who can be wiped out very easily (despite the fact he's the coolest and best baddie from all ) |

Originally posted by Kirby ATW Well, if you just use your mass items and just do repetitive stuff, it's no real challenge alone In Romancing SaGa 3, as I already took that example, you cannot refill your MP and TP in battle; potions need to be "equipped" like weapons, and since you have five slots, you cannot take more than 5 items with you - and you probably want to use two slots for sword and shield usually; and MPotions and TPotions even cannot be equipped So you'll maybe WANT to do the same tactics when encountering a boss, but since you need to watch your values, there's an end - no 15 TP left - no powerful "Dragon Inferno" tech anymore In Rudra no Hihou you'll have to deal with a final boss, having approx. about70k HPs in total; and there's NO mass 3k, 4k etc. dmg tech/spell in FF (in three forms, and in every form she has other weak/strong points; if you made a bad selection, you'll be _very_ vulnerable if defended against a certain element but double as weak against the opposite element ), you can carry only 9 pieces of each HP/TP recovering item. And something like "Elixir" in FF (Amrita), I found TWO of them in the entire game, at least they revive dead characters as well We, I went off topic. But as for my suggestion, HH, make the player to think tactically; make the powerful spells really MP-consuming, like in an FF6 editor putting Ultima to 250 MP or other; and if possible, I would suggest a limit in items - even Tales of Phantasia didn't allow you to take more than 15 from each item - and long caves like the Molaria Gallery had quite high enemy encounter rates (edited by Surlent on 07-22-04 01:46 PM) |

As stated, just practice; the same goes with these 50 Bonus Stars plus 3UP when reaching the goal point and cutting the tape in its highest position; do that quickly and you'll reach 99 lives relatively fast ... only that one level, two before the Water Fortress, with tons of bouncing Koopas and a grey P-switch can top that in speed how to get lives quickly | |||

I'm living in Berlin and of course we have a Berlin accent, but I don't use it; friends and me used to speak normal ... more or less (in)formal language. Usually just letters are replaced and special pronounciation is put on other and these replaced letters "Ick wee |

I have some games from 'beyond' as ROMs, and only FF6, Chrono Trigger as US carts - and a game I probably won't need to mention (heh, CIF-quality only, a cell phone still is no replacement if you don't have a good digicam ) I can play that game again and again sometimes; just to enjoy the really neat and cute animations, the basic battle system but powerful spell creation system; so I even wanted to have the original game, although the ROM allows to use an English translation - just to have the original is somehow a fine feeling. I think many of the people here having the original game (like if you have Xenogears or others, today more rare, games, than just a plain data ISO) would agree too |

Have a nice time in Peru; that's a vacation of a nicer art - fully living in a foregin country - not just a some-week-trip like a short holiday. I expect you back in an 'enlightened' way |
