You know, Gerald Ford was actually a very agile and athletic person. The fall he took, unfortunately, was what branded him a klutz. In actuality he played college football and was damn good at it. He never tripped after that incident, nor did he do so beforehand, he was simply a victim of the media.

And Kornfan is correct, much as I dislike Bush I doubt we'd have been any better off with Gore in the office, neither of them were prepared to deal with the attacks that came that fall despite the efforts of the Clinton administration to avoid the terrorist attacks. Be that as it may, I'm rooting for Kerry this time around, just so we can try to get rid of the Patriot Act. Did you know that a lot of the U.S. Senators never actually read it? Up here in RI not a single senator truly looked at the entire act (it's like a fucking novel), yet they voted for it with passion because of the chaos of the 9/11 attacks. It's another example of people being too caught up in the rush to notice their civil liberties being taken.

It's more than self parody, it's stupidity. The news just runs out of stuff to tell us about, so they make sure we know when Bush crashes his bike. All Celebrity media is like that, back when Nsync was popular, we were rightfully informed of every single time Justin Timberlake took a crap. There's no escaping it. That's why I hope I never become famous, or a politician, too many people trying to know about my life.

Janus stands, using his free time to yawn and stretch a bit. Scratching the back of his head, he cocks his head to the side and looks over to Dameon.

Janus: "Don't know what you're getting ready for, I already told you I'm not gonna attack you. Now then, would you mind keeping it up? I don't really have all night. In fact, I should be getting going soon, I've got some people who would love to corner me, and they always seem to show up when I least need it. So if you don't mind, carry on."

Janus gets his hammer back into a guard position, staring Dameon down.

Yeah, it did show that the president isn't exactly perfect, but nobody is, do we really need to know that he had a slight mishap while exercising? He's the president, I don't see why the media can't just leave him alone when he's not our executive leader. Same with celebrities, there's a reason why George Clooney stays out of the public eye, and why Marlon Brando bought an island in Tahiti, and why Sean Connery never goes to nightclubs. It's because going out in public when you're famous just isn't worth the risk of being found.

Janus swings his hammer, batting one of the blades away, and in the same fluid motion spins himself around to parry the slash with his hammer's shaft. Catching Dameon's blade in the crook of his hammer, he slides the crook down to the strong of Dameon's sword, jumps up, bringing his left leg up above the hammer, stomps down, and wrenches the blade out of Dameon's hands. Still holding the weapon in the crook of his hammer, after landing he tosses the blade over the ground, sending it sliding several feet away. To finish the combo, he vaults away from Dameon, who should now be relatively unarmed.

Janus: "You sure you really want me to when you're armed like that? Keep in mind, you're the one who started this fight, I haven't actually attacked you once throughout its entirety. All I wanted to do was give you a quick lecture on magic, and you start throwing magical swords at me! I might as well just walk away from this one while we're both still unharmed."

Janus turns his back to Dameon.

"So what do you do now that I'm not facing you? I can't see you, it's an opportunity..."

Janus begins to concentrate, knowing some form of attack will come. If it doesn't, all the better for him, more time on his hands.

Ha, a well priced convertible. Nicely done, Nick, I bet you look kickin' driving down the streets in that thing. It's a good car, to say the least, I especially like the silver color.

It's a 1985 though, how well does it run?

Yes, but at the same token we don't exactly know how old Vin Diesel is.

I shed my hair constantly, I have a lot of it too, and it's hard to manage. I just recently grew it out a bit, turns out it's curly, which I didn't know because my mom always made me cut it super short. I think it looks better long, actually.

If you lose your hair, you could just do what my uncle did, and try a comb over. Or there's always hair regrowth products or false hair. Or even implants, I've heard of people getting hair put into their heads artificially. Don't know if that last one is well founded though.

Janus: "Good, you're the honorable sort. Truth be told, I don't know an excessive bit about any magic but my own, which I can guarantee you won't be able to learn. But as far as magic goes, you should head for a mage. Perhaps challenging one will get you there, you seem to place a lot of stock in violence."

Janus turns back toward Dameon, but does not place himself in any guard stance once he sees him charging. In fact, Janus looks relaxed.

"It will get you nowhere."

Of course not! I keep telling her to try the Megaman Legends series. Trouble is, quite unlike Capcom, there's only two of them. But the voice acting makes them worth a play.

And I liked The Lost Vikings, maybe I'll eat my words and look into--- NO! What am I thinking?

Wow, how the heck did I actually make it into the ranks? I certainly hope I'm not spamming or anything, if I were I'd have to catch myself on it before I got into trouble...

I should watch this place, 25 posts in one day can't be a good thing. While you all are trying to make it onto the charts, I'd be just as happy staying off of them, it makes me feel like I am spamming.

Edit: Oh, crap! I posted more than Kitten Yiffer yesterday! It's not long til I'll be having Reinfors Syndrome attached to my sinful self...

Well I don't think of my friend as a girl gamer in THAT way either, it's just that unfortunately where I live there seriously are NOT many girls who play video games, so it is somewhat of a rarity for me. The perspective changes based on where you are, you may have plenty of female friends who are hardcore gamers, but that won't change the fact that girls in my area still ostracize video games, making my attitude a product of my surroundings.

But I'm getting out of hand, if you're offended, please forgive me. I can understand where you're coming from, considering all the stuff I write in Anya and Christie's, I should have known better than to glorify something that directly contradicts my beliefs. By having that "NO WAY!!!!" attitude that you describe, in turn I do something to separate girls from guys even more. You're right, games are for people.

I saw the funniest comic regarding some of that a while ago. Villian school or something. To put it simply, if the hero can only jump a pit 4 blocks wide and the villian's 50 times his size and could easily step over it, why not *gasp* make a pit 5 blocks wide? Or if he can only jump 3 blocks high, make a wall 4 blocks high? Even better, make one that covers the entire screen. And no, you don't need to leave powerups sitting after the hard parts!

There's also the matter of Bowser's random sizes. In SMB, he's twice Mario's size. In Mario 64, he's 10 times as big. In a lot of other games they're the same size?

The villain movie is at http://home.att.net/~miller.daniel.r/dictator2.htm.

And the worst contortion of Bowser's size was in Super Mario Sunshine. One moment, he's about 100 times Mario's size in a hot tub, then when you kick his arse, suddenly he's back down to being a little bit bigger than Mario is! And he talks instead of roaring! I liked his voice, though...

Terrible, terrible book. I will try 2 catch a FISH 4 TWO THIRDS OF TEH BOOK IT WIL B GRATE LOLOLOL.

....no.

And to think, I still have yet to read that. I was actually planning on it, too. And I'm afraid I can do you one better on the worst book ever part. Well, in a manner of speaking anyway.

Ever read Pat Conroy's The Lords Of Discipline? Crap on a stick. The entire first three quarters of the book sucks, and it's only after one of the worst girls I've ever come upon in literature leaves the story does it even begin to get good. it's about the Carolina Military Institute, and this guy that goes there. At that point some stuff about how he needs to protect a guy from being discriminated against because he's the first black student in the school happens, and you're given the possibility of it being good. Then suddenly they fool you on what the plot really is about, and introduce said lady into the story, who turns out to be a heart-ruining debutante bitch. Eventually there's some badly written and untasteful sex, some fighting, and when she finally leaves the story, THEN they have the nerve to go back to the original, and considerably more engaging, plot. That's when it gets a bit better, but the whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth, considering the part with the evil girl sucks away about two thirds of the whole book. Don't read it, or better yet read a bootleg version with about half the pages ripped out. I guarantee, you won't be missing much.

Janus: "I can name a million that could stomp you into the ground, so why bother challenging them? None of them would accept anyway. Perhaps you should instead seek one out. It'd certainly give you a chance to brush up on your fighting techniques. By the way, are you still charging there? I should let you know that I am, too. But remember, I never said I'd attack you."

Janus begins to walk in circles around Dameon, keeping his distance, but still circling.
