| Janus: "In the dark, in the dark, in the dark. Everyone's always standing in the dark! Let's get some light in here!" Breaking a disc open, Janus reveals a torch from Morrowind and sets it in the ground, illuminating the area. All around him torches flare up as the area, a clearing in a jungle surrounded by torches (a la Survivor), is revealed. "There, that's better. I tell you, you warriors brood way too much. Get some Prozac or something! Mind, I'm not really here to fight, just to make sure you don't catch your opponent off guard. If you want it to be me, that's fine, but I've fought in the darkness before, it ain't pretty." Janus closes his satchel and shoulders it, ready to flick a switch at any time. "So, what'll it be?" |

Dameon unsheathes one of his mystical blades and readies for anything. OOC: Incase you didn't notice I think you shall be my new opponent so lets fight. |

| Janus looks at Dameon blankly. Janus: "So, what're you expecting to learn here? I can teach a lot of stuff. I can teach you how to play Half Life, or do calculus, or run drug busts, it's all pretty easy when you have as much time as I do. Ask me anything." Janus takes his bag and opens a pouch, flips a switch and converts his bag into a hammer. "You know, I don't like seeing weapons drawn on me, and I can guarantee if you use force on me I'll use force on you. But it's not my way to carry on a fight. You said something about learning?" Shouldering his hammer, Janus leans against one of the torches and stares at Dameon, kicking the dust around on the ground, and looking generally bored. |

| Janus: "Magic? Whoa now there, I can't really do that. Not too well versed with it myself. Or rather, I'm amazingly well versed in it, but more often than not the verse finds itself muddled in my brain before reaching my lips! So if you don't mind, you might wanna ask someone else about this." "Here's what I do know, however. Magic's a strange force. Some people consider it drawn from themselves, others draw it from the rest of the world. It's the manipulation of forces in the world to do one's bidding. This differs from Psionics, which draws from one's will to shape the world, rather than one's ability to use the world's power." "This power, however, requires years of training to pull off. You can't just up and use magic one day. You have to really concentrate, you have to learn every little thing about the forces you manipulate, or else you're gonna expand your powers far out of control and you might end up hurting yourself." Janus lets go of his hammer and watches it float before him. "Take this bag, for example. It's enchanted, I place my magic within it. I don't bother manipulating the rest of the world, cause everything I need is stored in this artifact. You might say it's the source of my power. It's really not, but it's definitely much easier for me to channel my energy through it. I can use my brand of magic so long as I have something material to cling to." "Those who don't use artifacts are real mages. They'll draw from the world around them and they'll do it with ease. They have years of training, they have the willpower, the intelligence, and the materials to do it with. You wanna learn a magic spell? Go to some of these guys, they're masters of their craft." Janus looks over to his "pupil." "Any other questions before you look for a new challenger?" |

| Janus sighs, effortlessly deflecting the blade with his hammer. It flies outward, sticking itself into one of the torch posts, quivering with the speed of its movement. Janus: "Enchanted blades? What makes them any better than normal ones against a weapon such as mine? Well, it figures. Since you've attacked me, it appears as though I have no choice but to fight. But enough talk, have at him!" Janus stands at the ready for his opponent's next attack. He grins, and eyes Dameon maliciously. "I'm in the mood for a bit of fun tonight, so how about I make a bet with you? I won't attack you directly at all, but I bet I'll still defeat you, just with my words instead of with my hammer or my powers. It won't be much of a fight if you just attack me all the time, so why not make this a battle of wits as well as one of steel?" Janus brings his hammer into a guard position, ready for almost anything. "I guess what I'm trying to ask is, are you feeling lucky?" |

| OOC: What the hell, that's like changing the rules in the middle of a ballgame... Slightly surprised at the completely random induction of his foe's new abilities, Janus thinks fast, and moves even faster. He jumps at Dameon, who is still charging his magic, zips open his bag, and brings it over Dameon's head, somehow covering him entirely and putting out the flame aura due to a lack of oxygen to fuel the fire. He closes Dameon inside the bag, waits several seconds, and unzips the bag, sending Dameon flying out of it, auraless. Janus: "It's a funny thing about this bag, as well as taking almost anything out of it, I can put almost anything in. So, what'd you see? Not many people have been in there, I can tell you. And that magical aura of yours? I better not see it again, you obviously have no control over it yet. So, why don't we recap?" Janus reconverts his bag into hammer form and begins to speak again. "Thus far I've deflected, insulted, and now disrupted you. I still haven't hit you though. So there's really only one more thing I can do, and that's for you to find out. Have you had enough yet, or would you like me to ridicule you some more?" |

| Janus stands, using his free time to yawn and stretch a bit. Scratching the back of his head, he cocks his head to the side and looks over to Dameon. Janus: "Don't know what you're getting ready for, I already told you I'm not gonna attack you. Now then, would you mind keeping it up? I don't really have all night. In fact, I should be getting going soon, I've got some people who would love to corner me, and they always seem to show up when I least need it. So if you don't mind, carry on." Janus gets his hammer back into a guard position, staring Dameon down. |

| Janus swings his hammer, batting one of the blades away, and in the same fluid motion spins himself around to parry the slash with his hammer's shaft. Catching Dameon's blade in the crook of his hammer, he slides the crook down to the strong of Dameon's sword, jumps up, bringing his left leg up above the hammer, stomps down, and wrenches the blade out of Dameon's hands. Still holding the weapon in the crook of his hammer, after landing he tosses the blade over the ground, sending it sliding several feet away. To finish the combo, he vaults away from Dameon, who should now be relatively unarmed. Janus: "You sure you really want me to when you're armed like that? Keep in mind, you're the one who started this fight, I haven't actually attacked you once throughout its entirety. All I wanted to do was give you a quick lecture on magic, and you start throwing magical swords at me! I might as well just walk away from this one while we're both still unharmed." Janus turns his back to Dameon. "So what do you do now that I'm not facing you? I can't see you, it's an opportunity..." Janus begins to concentrate, knowing some form of attack will come. But as far as magic goes, you should head for a mage. Perhaps challenging one will get you there, you seem to place a lot of stock in violence." Janus turns back toward Dameon, but does not place himself in any guard stance once he sees him charging. In fact, Janus looks relaxed. "It will get you nowhere." |
