Ah, I don't really like throwing big parties, I'm never sure I'm very good at it. I prefer doing nothing, the obligatory family sings happy birthday around a small ice cream cake thing, and when I go online occasionally some people will say Happy Birthday if they remember. Then I go celebrate a little bit with my father, since we share the same birthday. Usually we also honor my elder sister, since her birthday is four days from mine.

I think this year I actually may have to work on my birthday, come to think of it.

And Jarukoth, why not just have a banquet or something? Like, invite a bunch of friends over for dinner, eat, drink, and be merry?

Can't forget about the fact that beside that, the middle east has had a long-standing crop with Europe anyway, since Europe, and Great Britain in particular, has had a long history of stomping their jackboots on anything that moves eastbound of their country.

On the other hand, now that Britain's been smacked, I'm starting to wonder if the war really is for oil or not.

Ha, and then there's the propaganda route that the entire thing was planned to MAKE US think that way...

The shadow was suddenly held in a box, somehow suspended in midair in his glass prison. Naturally, the only person who could be behind this one was Grey...

Grey: "Oh, no ya don't, Sam. They have a point. All of them were shafted. I think now's the time to either let them be repaid for their loyal service, or give them a good reason to serve you again. And don't worry about being seriously hurt. So long as you're in here, you'll be fine. If you want, I can even give you feetholes so you can walk around. But don't think that just because you're a shadow... Oh, right, forgot something."

Grey placed two fingers in his mouth and whistled. A portal opened beside him, and Janus, Kalar, and Garro stepped out of it. Grey pointed at the rapidly charging Dracoon, and Janus nodded, taking Satchel off his back and leaping out the now-broken window at the blast. He swung his hammer, which hit the blast at full force, stopping it in midair and locking him within its struggle. He continued straining his grip, trying desperately to force the blast back at Dracoon, knowing that all along this was what the reploid wanted to see. Eventually, he had to give it up, and a gigantic portion of the blast was sucked into Satchel as Janus sent the shot flying upward and toward the top of the Arena Annex. The blast collided with the top of the building, blowing a huge chunk of it away and probably severely disturbing whoever lived there at the time. Janus dropped to the ground, panting. He had failed for the time being, but that didn't mean he wasn't ready to defend the arena, and Shadow Sam, with any number of his lives.

Garro: "So, what's all this about? The Shadow's rebellious crew is laying the arena under seige?"

Grey: "Yeah, and I've got him imprisoned here until he agrees to help us fight them or negotiate with them. He's got feetholes too, so it's really not so bad."

Kalar: "Good, I'd hate to think he'd just have to sit there while we kick his crew's asses."

Grey: "Don't be stupid, Kalar. You know we can't take them all on ourselves unless I break the fourth wall, and I know there's gonna be a couple of white-named fellows who aren't going to be too happy about that. But until reinforcements show up, I suggest you make like Janus and jump."

Kalar: "Whatever you say, man. I've been waiting for a moment like this."

Garro simply nodded solemnly, before taking out his pocketbible and leaping out the window after Kalar and Janus. The three of them were now all that stood between a team with enough power to take on several military organizations at once. Grey, meanwhile, turned his attention to the shadow in a box...

Grey: "Now then, Sam... Are you going to run, or are you going to fight?"

Dammit, windwaker, he's not racist, he's just wrong.

Leg, you, who happen to be in the airforce, should know better than anyone else here how much violence America is partaking in over this issue. We really are taking the damage we inflict to that extreme that Ziff places as an example. We've outpaced the amount of damage and death that the terrorists do in the name of what ONLY OUR SUPERIORS CONSIDER a just cause by so much, that we might as well be calling ourselves terrorists.

We have more destructive weapons than them.
We have stronger military tactics than them.
We have tighter intelligence and security than them.
We kill them.

Are they terrorists simply because they are, in fact, weaker than us?

Dude, they DID! I was fucking there, I got the intel briefs. Don't tell me what they did and didn't have.

What you might not know about them, and this is probably why you think they didn't have them, is because right before the war they buried all their aircraft because our pilots were vastly superior to theirs. They knew from the early 90s that they stood no chance against us in the air.

I see... Alright, That makes a lot more sense. But still, that doesn't change the fact that we are in that way superior to them. Even if they have the same toys as us, we're better trained than them, so that still means we're fighting an outmatched foe. You said so yourself, they knew they had no chance.

There was another time when a bunch of people fought even though they knew they had no chance.

[23:12] < Switzerland> well, the thing is, the issue here is that most of the sympathy towards al quaeda comes from the fact that they are indeed weaker than us and we're pounding htem
[23:12] < Switzerland> Iraq is not weaker than us, just less skilled
[23:13] < Switzerland> so we're still fighting an inferior foe, and people should be sympathizing with iraq for that reason. You, yourself if I recall correctly sympathize with iraq, but not al-qaeda.
[23:13] < Switzerland> which is the correct path to take: One is not filled with terrorism, and the other is.
[23:13] < Switzerland> simple as that.
[23:13] < Legion> The only people I sympathize with are the innocent bystanders. That's it.
[23:13] < knuck> I think both should blow up
[23:13] < knuck> like boom
[23:13] < Switzerland> Iraq = innocent bystanders. Al-qaeda in iraq = people you want dead
[23:13] < knuck> Brazil would rule
[23:14] < Legion> Not everyone in Iraq was innocent
[23:14] < Legion> They DID fight back you know
[23:14] < Legion> (some)
[23:14] < Switzerland> but the majority of the population was
[23:14] < Switzerland> until we fought them
[23:14] < Switzerland> then they fought back
[23:14] < Legion> They didn't have to
[23:14] < Switzerland> and I'd like to note that yes, it seems as though a revolution is going on in iraq
[23:14] < Legion> orele
[23:14] < Switzerland> the al-qaedans are not to be compared with those who colonized america
[23:15] < Switzerland> but the iraqis that get hurt, the innocent bystanders that suffer because of hte war in iraq are alright to be compared with those who fought the british in the 1770s.

Easy as that.

No. We imposed a govermnet on the Iraqis. In the Revolutionary War, we imposed it on ourselves.

Madness! We imposed it on ourselves in retaliation against a government that was being imposed on us by another country.

You know, like how we're imposing a government on Iraq.

No, you misunderstand. I said that Al-qaeda are terrorists.

The Iraqis we fought in the war were actual soldiers.

Legion's got it. There's a clear-cut difference between Iraqi soldiers and Al-qaeda terrorists that you guys are all missing.
EDIT: Except for windwaker, apparently.

I'll admit, I am kind of lost now. It's a huge mix of everything that's happened in the past few years and I'm quite confuzzled at this point.

Well, if you're so confuzzled about it, then why can't we all just stop arguing about something we don't understand and instead of bitch about things we can't control as individuals work together to find a better understanding and then work to find a solution to the problem we find?

I would much rather suggest the sheer posting of information over arguing about information that's been muddled. It's easier to develop a unified idea that way. Solidarity, people!

To Leg: Hear, hear! The Brits deserve our support right now, regardless of anything there are people dying now, so we need to make sure they know we're there for them, no matter where you live.

I hope we stop arguing about this, myself. Like I said, the issue seems so muddled that there's no way we'll achieve a clear-cut solution just by talking at each other about what we think is right.

Janus: "Damn... He's right, I won't be able to stop a blast that big!"

Kalar: "Relax, Janus... Garro's got this one."

And so Garro did. His bible out and the pages flipping, Garro silently chanted prayer after prayer, his white-gloved hands flashing about in gesture after holy gesture... Until finally...

Garro: "Lex Aeterna!!! Blessing!!!"

Rapidly casting the two spells in quick succession, Garro first turned to Mia and Dracoon, endowing them with the power and glory of all that was holy in the world. He then swung around, and threw out his second spell. The entire Sim Battle Arena Annex would have to be affected... It began as a small glow at the base of the building, but grew rapidly into a dull green glow that overtook the entire complex. Drops of sweat rolled down Garro's determined face as floor after floor was overtaken by the light. Finally, the entire arena was covered, but Garro was left entirely immobile, every last ounce of his energy concentrated on channeling the powers that be to give whatever protection he could bestow upon the Arena. He wasn't exactly sure of the blast was going to be repelled by his barrier, but it was a chance he had to take.

Janus: "Uh? Garro... You..."

Garro: "There's.... no.... time.... You have to.... Stop them all! Hurry..."

Janus: "Gr, Right! Kalar, come on!"

Kalar: "Right with ya, boss!"

As Garro stood alone and consumed by the need for his protection, Janus and Kalar rushed Mia and Dracoon, both leaping into the air! Janus came down at the two of them with his signature earthquake-like strike, and Kalar, whose mighty scythe had glided off his back in a sweeping wind of misery, landed by them and swung hard, the near-transparent blade cutting through the air with the sound of hundreds of tortured souls...

Grey: "Man, Kalar's really overdoing it today."

Grey seemed entirely unperturbed by the loss of Shadow Sam, and only slightly more disturbed by the disappearance of Nijote and Fenrir. He cracked his knuckles, removed his glasses and replaced them with a pair of perscription shades. He snapped his fingers, and a puce baseball cap appeared in his hands, which he placed on his head backwards, tucking his shaggy hair into the rim and leaving his face completely exposed and his vision unobscured. Another snap of the fingers and he was in his battle getup, a pair of well-fit cargo pants and a set of shirts above his usual skate-styled shoes. A pair of weight lifting gloves later, and he was about ready to go. A few round objects that looked slightly like Pokeballs were tucked inside his shirt, as well...

"Looks like I'll just have to match up."

He, too, leapt out the window and landed on the ground hard beside Garro, who grinned hopefully as Grey took off at extreme speed, dashing along the ground and attempting to follow Fenrir and Nijote...

Janus: "Green's Lightning!!!"

Kalar: "You're right, I have!"

Like Kalar needed to see the attack again... He lightning-roded himself, only to be horribly slashed by Hector's sword style, which produced a short red glow in Kalar's eyes, a flash of an instant. Kalar was sent rolling backward as Janus used the blazing electric aura that surrounded him to channel Star's energy and send it straight into Hector, whom he let slice straight through his skin and deep into his body. Janus pulled his hand downward and caught the blade as it slashed through his body, forcing it back into himself and wincing in pain as he did.

Janus: "That hurts... but not as much as this will!"

He released the energy channeled by Star's attack straight into Hector, amplified by the electrical field Janus had already generated around himself! As Kalar tore a piece of his already tattered suit to bind his cut with, he watched the light show, flicking a button on his scythe and transforming it into a strange, bladed whip-like device.

Grey, on the other hand, was having a bit more fun. As Fenrir let his shot loose, Grey clapped his hands together and slapped them to the ground as he ran, drawing upward from it a gigantic rock which he telekinetically raised over his head, touching it once with his hand and setting it full of energy, stopping his transmutation process in the middle of the reaction and effectively making it into a large, sedementary bomb. He sent the object flying at Fenrir, a la Gambit, and detonated it just as it reached proximity with the wolfman.

Grey, having stuffed his face and overheard the discussion about the throw, snuck over to where Ada was standing with the bouquet... He had a good deed to do, after all...

Grey: "Oh, yeah. This is gonna be good. Supremely good."

He crouched, getting ready for the throw. Just a few more seconds...
