It's said to be release in Mars according to Cube europa but in April according to Gamefaqs. So don't visit me until I get it Trapster. ;P Besides, there is alot of games I want to by in Mars... so that's a problem. Still I know I will have too much time by then so... Tamias: Spoiled what secrets? I hadn't spoiled anything big that wasn't mentioning earlier in this thread. And I hardly call that what happened to Falco as spoiler as it is in the beginning of that manga. Starfox Adventures is fun the first time through but uhh... the second time you start to notice the weak points of the game. And VGcats pretty much tells what the game is like... |

Kitten Yiffer didn't spoil anything, especially co-op mode. Nintendo sent out a statement saying that Namco pulled the option out before the final release after many fans sent angry letters and email looking for it, so it not unlockable. It may still be somewhere in the game if someone knows how to use a gameshark... By the way, That SF adventures comic quickie was real funny, Kitten Yiffer (edited by Link2004 on 02-17-05 12:27 PM) |

Originally posted by Kitten Yiffer Well, what's that then, Link2004? While it's not that special, some people would probably like to find out about all the secrets, to heighten the enjoyment. Either way, I still wish that there was more single player mode unlockables. I mean, the original Starfox was carried by a well-thought out single player mode, and it scored well with people, so why not have at least half of the extra goodies be in Single Player Mode? |

The original Star Fox was ENTIRELY single-player. Star Fox 64, yes, I'd say the single-player carried that as well...maybe that's what you were thinking of? |

A secret is a secret no matter what it is. Either way, I still wish that there was more single player mode unlockables. I mean, the original Starfox was carried by a well-thought out single player mode, and it scored well with people, so why not have at least half of the extra goodies be in Single Player Mode? I agree, SF 64 didn't have good unlockables like this game, on the other hand, most unlockables on this game work only for mulitplayer, and some are stupid....I wished at LEAST you could've chosen different charachters in single player mode. Falco and Krystal are my favorate ones. |

Originally posted by Emptyeye Yeah, I know the original Starfox was entirely single-player. What I meant was that the only thing that was carrying it at the time was a well-thought out single-player. Then StarFox 64, while sticking well to single player still, added multiplayer. Very wise move by Nintendo there. Now, we hit StarFox: Assault. The Single player, while is good and an enjoyable one, is probably the weakest of the three. I'm... probably gonna spoil a few things here, but the missions are in a STATIC order. No matter whatcha do in each mission or objective, the next one will always be the same. That's another thing that I was disappointed about in StarFox: Assault. Either way though, it's a more interesting game than StarFox: Adventures. StarFox: Adventures seems like it was kind of thrown together with those "quests" some of the time... |

I miss my Medal-filled Lylat System from Starfox 64... So, then, Assault looks to be like SF64, which is good, and it's got more flying in it than Adventures, which is better? Interesting. Er, one last question: In the on-foot sections, can you jump? That really pissed me off about Adventures. |

Wasn't there a arcade version coming too? |

Not that much fun... Me and my brother played multiplayer, I stated before that the stages are way too big for 2 players. You'll get the most out of multiplayer with 4 Players. and yes depending on the situation, you might have the same battles like in SF64. I remember when you choose to be on foot,(SF 64) and someone else chose the arwing, you could'nt even shoot a person in the air while you were on foot (if you did, it was very hard to do). In SF assault, you're chances of knocking them out the sky depends on the weapons you collect. Wasn't there a arcade version coming too? I really don't know, it's possible. |

Right. So I got done at volunteering today, went home and played Nintendo a bit (yes, the NES) while waiting for my brother and Mom to get home from grocery shopping. After that, we went up to the bank to cash a check I had, then out to Walmart to see if the game was there. It had to be the first time I've gone to that place with the intent to buy a game and they actually had it Anyways I got the game for $67, which is reasonable. Took it home, and the first thing I played on it was multiplayer with my brother. That usually is the case whenever I buy a game that has a two or more player mode though. After a couple matches on that, I got into the single player mode, and as of right now, I'm up at going to Corneria to get rid of some stuff. I'm pleasantly surprised by the game. I read a couple reviews on GameFAQs, some good, and some bad as well, and while the good ones made me all the more eager to go out and get it as soon as possible, the bad ones made me think twice. Things about the voices, linearity and shortness of the game, and the like were the main points. I don't see what's so bad about the characters' voices, other than the possible fact that they sound different than they did on Star Fox 64. Tricky's voice in the movie after you save Sauria (what an original name) really surprised me. I was more expecting him to sound like what he did in Star Fox Adventures. The movie was also quite funny as well As for the shortness and linearity of the game, well, I really can't comment on that yet, as I've not completed it yet. It does look to have a good deal of time involved if you want to collect and unlock everything though The graphics are alright, but I thought they'd look more like they did on Star Fox Adventures, but to me, they were slightly less than that. The picture of Fox on the front of the game box is hideous, if you ask me. He looks almost like a bear, and pretty much nothing like a fox Those things aside though, I'm quite glad I got this game. It only left me with just a bit over 30 dollars to save for another game (which will most likely be the new Zelda), but I'll have to see what my funds are like when that time comes. If I had to rate the game, I'd give it a 8. It's quite good, but there are definitely things like what's been listed above that bring that score down |

The game is definitely not bad at all. Why do you think I gave it a 7.6? I just felt that it could be so much better, especially with Single Player mode. I'm sure if they things were done, it would have been a classic. At least it improves over Starfox: Adventures. Last thing that I want to see is Fox starring in mediocre games... | |||

I agree with you on how gameplay-wise it would've been better, but story-wise it wouldn't really have worked. Spoilers ahead. Spoiler tag doesn't work for people with CSS layouts, so yeah, stop reading if you don't want anything spoiled. The only real place along the story you can branch is from the start not following the distress signal at katina, but if you do that then you never run in to star wolf so they don't meet up with you and help in the later parts of the game, et cetera. So, it simply couldn't have worked; the game is too plot-heavy, preventing it from being the same sort of stuff happens and then other stuff happens in other places sort of thing as it is with Star Fox 64. The fact that it actually has a plot is a welcome change; if it did have branching areas in place of a strict plot telling you where to go, everyone would've thought if it as a rehash, no? And I definitely prefer this to a rehash with supdated graphics. |
