Most likely they asked for it to be a negative number...

Banned people also tend to receive these gifts from the admins

I originally saw Mind/WarriorSiren (way back then) with it, thought it was nifty, asked Acmlm what "NAN" meant, found out, then bugged him again for this...

Later in `03 I came out of the negatives (un-legitimately, sadly) and forgot about it...

...Then the board restarted, I remembered what I did back when I first registered and I said "Hey, what the hell, why not" and did it.

Only two people ever got negative post counts without being permabanned, and that was me and WarriorSiren, to my knowledge

Still pretty kickass, I can't wait for next year when I get to post a "0 posts!" thread XD

I never understood why Xkeeper wanted this before, but now I get it I guess. Anyways what number did you start at Xkeeper? And the only way to get negative post count is by editing the user. Its not a "gift" or anything. Also "The Punisher" (Syntax) you should make your font bigger.

On one of the boards I administrated, I used to give out NAN's to those people who spammed in the name of post counts.

If they stopped spamming, I'd give them their post count back though.

Why do you need that many? Most of us are content with just one.

i would do a name change...once I actually make a layout worthy of doing on..

anyways, it is just a quirk--if every wanted the same thing, then the quirk goes away...

I believe XKeeper started at -5000, meaning he's made about 2500 posts thus far.

Of course, if memory serves, he "missed" the milestone -4000th post he did, so he simply asked for a rollback and got it. Twice. So I think he's actually made close to 3000 posts.

On the "0 posts!" topic, this reminds me of that game show Debt, where people who were thousands of dollars in debt were contestants, and the object of the show was to go home with NOTHING (The show would pay your debt if you won everything).

Actually, -2495 (now, anyway) is my real post count (er.. sorta, it's really 2505)

Those rollbacks were 'fixed' eventually, though there are still a LOT of holes in my post cuont from deleted posts, sadly
