Before I initiate this open challenge to my Elite Seph character (for anyone who's interested; Sion, if you feel like you want to resume fighting him in a nonsanctioned sim-battle thread, here's your chance!), I'm going to make this clear: just because there are no guidelines for this fight doesn't mean there are no rules that follow, either. Standard sim-battle rules, with a few (minor) adjustments:

1. No arena change techniques of any sort
2. You may only attack ONCE per turn unless it's a combo
3. You may only counter attack ONCE per turn unless it's a combo
4. Miraculous dodging/blocking forbidden
5. No vehicles of any kind
6. You may NOT decide if your techs are successful-It's up to the opponent to decide whether he fall prey to your last attack or not
7. Outside interfierence is ABSOLUTELY forbidden and may result in a spontaneous death of your character (meaning you can no longer use it in any way, shape, or form), so please, just stay the f**k out, and don't even think about it! Spectating is, of course, allowed, just as long as you don't cause any sudden "disturbances" of any sort during this fight
8. No teleportations. Same sim-battle rules apply except where otherwise noted, don't forget!

I think that pretty much does it for rules... now, moving on...

I felt like the sim-battle tournament defeated the whole purpose of what it's like to sim-battle, and was depleted and underdeveloped. Who says challengers had to be characteristic during their fights? Quite frankly, the only rules that really matter are the ones I described, which is why I decided to bring my bout to the next level, right here in this very thread. I want to show to the rest of the fellow sim-battlers my character's strength, and I don't feel like a thread where I have a couple omnious judges by my side whining about how I'm "god modding" for using ultimate attacks that are, infact, LEGAL, or how I wasn't quite descriptive enough in my paraphrases is the place to do it. Just because I'm not the most "artful" sim-battler here doesn't mean I'm not the most skilled, and I'm more than ready to prove my point here! That said, Sion, you're more than welcome to carry on the previous fight, with a fresh start, of course. As for anyone else who's interested... well, I guess that's why they call it an OPEN challenge. That pretty much speaks for itself, so... who wants some?

OOC It'll be a while before we fight in the tourny, so I might as well prove a point to you now. You want pure skill huh? You don't care about the art of the battle?

"..."

A warrior in black armor stepped forward. His armor oddly shined. He pulled out a sword quickly and pointed it at Seph. He looked completely ready, but didn't move at all. He just stood there with his sword pointed at Seph.

"You can have the first move."

OOC Oh yeah, I don't think you made one rule, besides arena change, to what the normal rules are. Well that and the vehicle one, but not many people actually use a vehicle.

Off: Entering the fight as a spectator. Ex Lightheart is going to watch this fight!

____________________________________________________________________

Ex sat down in the audience. She wasn't going to intervene. She remembered her fights... or should I say, her incarnations' fights against Seph. Ex herself hadn't fought Seph. Still, she knew that as a robot infused with the soul of an "Ex" being, Seph was truly fearsome. In fact, it didn't surprised her that he was kicked out of the official tournament. "Ex" beings tends to be so strong that unless they are given some kind of SERIOUS disadvantage, they will will end up god-moding no matter how fair they try to be... and anyway, Ex was digusted by DarkSlaya's loss to Blue.

In her opinion, no matter how graceful is one's fighting technique, the winner is the winner, period... and even more stupid was that retarded "gonna gain emotionnal experience" thingy. This was a FIGHTING tournament! Not a RP! She truly had lost all respect for the tournament... even if she knew that she would eventually challenge the champion and crush him/her mercilessly to show these pansies once and for all what a TRUE fighter can do. After all, she considered it her first priority, as the self-proclaimed "ultimate fighter" and the only warrior ever to challenge NeoBowser (the ultimate god-moder) and walk out of the fight in one piece.

But for now... she was going to sit down and relax. She knew that someone had challenged Seph. While this wasn't the almighty Seph reborn as her original self, the Elite version of Seph was still able to unleash loads of pyrotechnics and special effects. This was going to be interesting... as long as Seph wouldn't abuse his multi-energy blasts.

She knew that Seph was able to fight gracefully and skillfully... but his mechanical versions tend to abuse Seph's speciality: the ability to unleash energy-based attacks without charging. While a shower of energy blasts was interesting to see once in a while, Seph tend to use that ability every turn, turning the fight into a game of energy blast tennis... and she wasn't there to see two fighters reflect at each others a volley of energy blasts again and again and again...

OFF: Well, that and I made the outside interfierence rule a bit more "strict" than the standard sim-battle rule, as the penalty for intervention during fights seems to be consequence rather than going as far as "killing" that poster's character. Sorry if I scared anyone with the new interfierence stipulation. It's just to make sure that NOONE interfiers.

Elite Seph: "Very well...."

FLASH BANG!

Suddenly, a blinding flash of light...

....Comes and hits the arena at a blinding speed, blinding (and deafening) everyone but the caster in sight. Unless Dracoon can pull of a special tech that can overturn flash bang effects, he will be blinded for a single turn, thus disabling any techs he may have been charging or planning to use in the process.

Assuming that that last tech works, Seph then continued to charge energy into his left hand....

Odin laughed as he barely bothered to blink. He took a quick look around and acted during the flash.

"Destructive Punch!"

Odin leap up at Elite Seph, using an attack during the flash bang remembering exactly where Elite Seph stood, and punched hard at Elite Seph. The punch, regardless of hit or miss even though a direct hit does more damage, exploded where Elite Seph was, Odin falling backwards landing gracefully his eyes closed. He knew that next turn he would have a hard time doing anything, but he also knew he would be fine.

User Grey watches the fight on a closed-circuit television, prepaing himself for the fourth wall break...

UGrey: "This sure as hell won't end well."

Grey then takes a look at the SB rules and regulations and notes that there's nothing in there that has anything to do with a situation like this being wrong. He smiles, glad to see that someone's finally bringing back skill-based battling.

"Now, let's see what I can do with this thing..."

He grabs a microphone, and Odin, Ex, and Seph all hear a booming voice come from out of nowhere...

"Attention, all battlers and spectators; I'd like to let you know that Schwa has no bearing whatsoever over the rules in this arena, and comments like Ex's are unnecessary. Roleplaying is standard, and one can choose to do so or not to do so with impunity. Ex, you will be receiving an informational message from me in the mail in regards to the reasons behind my particular writing style."

The voice faded, and Grey turned off his CCT.

OOC: Grey, would you please send me a copy of the PM? It seems there is some unfinished business that I need to tie up. Schwa, too, will be watching this fight.

"Hi, Sion," a whispering voice says to Sion from his hidden area. Schwa, a man in white, loose clothes and a black blindfold (which actually strengthens his vision), has made his way to, and sat down by, Sion, just as if he weren't even hidden. Schwa, though, is also hidden from the two fighters. "See that guy?" he says, pointing to Seph. "He was in a tournament I'm judging. I want to see more of his skill. I kinda chewed him out earlier... I need to know what this guy's about. I may even be thinking of battling him soon."

OCC: Sounds good. I'm open for any challenge pretty much, since I'm still searching for the one poster here who would put an end to my old SB winning streak (not trying to brag, but hey: it makes you look and feel that much better of a SBer for the person that does), which, for the record, I DID lose one SB back at the old board (instead of being forced to edit each post that violates a SB rule, we went with that "3 strikes, you're out" stipulation, and I got disqualified for incidentally breaking one too many rules).

Also, spectating is allowed in any way, shape, or form just as long as you (and that "you" would basically be the "fans" watching the fight in this case) stay in bounds of the arena stands, and don't interfere with the fight in any way. And, to make things more fun, you can either "YEAH!" or "BOO!" any of the fighters or start your own chants if you want.
____________________________________________________________________
Elite Seph tried to move out of the way and side-step the punch, but came to realize one thing: it explodes wherever it hits, and as such, didn't have the reaction time needed to dodge the blow.

KA-BOOM!

Seph is sent flying back several feet, making a couple complete spins before landing safely on his feet, still feeling a little shaky from that last hit.

Elite Seph: "Eh... so you like to play dirty, too, eh? Fine by me. Dirty is my type of style! And besides, I was just warming up!"

Seph's eyes were burning with agony, as they typically do. Seph is a machine; he was born a killer, and no matter how hard he tries to contain it, he has an urge rising to kill. Nothing was forcing his way out of implementing this next tech, which began with Seph's glarring red eyes tagging all 4 corners, each of which embedded in a sea of blue aurora once he had done so, withdrew both arms, raised them high in the sky, and impatiently channeled this next tech...

Elite Seph: "Can you feel the heat?"

COLLOSAL BEAM!

At that moment, the arena started to crumble like there was no tomorrow as 4 beams of pure light energy started blazing out of each of the 4 corners simultaneously. Then, they started bounching off the walls to form several large figure 8's before finally coming down and trying to batter the target in red essence wherever he was standing. While the attack normally is dodgeable (although it is pretty fast moving), the lack of space within the arena (we are inside a wrestling ring around a 20 foot steel cage around all 4 sides) made it rather difficult to avoid and, should it hit, it will drain a large chunk (20% of your life force persay) of the target's life force and transfer it back to the caster (half that harnessed energy would be used to heal him; in short, he would experience a 10% health recovery).

Off: As you can see, Ex doesn't make many comments... but she sure analyse the fighters and the battle a lot, trying to get an idea of each fighter's style and strategy thus allowing her to predict their next moves.

If Ex's comments/toughts/whatever offend you, then don't take it personally. Remember that Ex's toughts aren't necessarely the same as mine and Ex's insults are, well, Ex's, not mine.

____________________________________________________________________

Ex smiled. Things are actually starting to get interesting now!

Seph's nature was a strange one. The mind of a living weapon inside of a non-living one. A strange and effective mix.

If she remembered perfectly, Seph's mechanical self was able to unleash massive amounts of damage in stupidly short amounts of time and do combos with attacks that should be charged normally... but Ex knew the cost of such a power.

Seph was completely and totally unable to stop time, unlike his real self. Not only that but while the attacks are quite fast, it takes time for the attacks to actually start moving and as such, Seph's attacks are stupidly easy to avoid to beings with a minimum of speed and reflexes.

Fortunately for him, Seph knew very well his own weakness and as such, tried to be as unpredictable as possible so the enemy wouldn't be able to see his moves coming.

Odin would definitely be a challenge for Seph.

While Odin seemed to lack the intelligence to actually exploit Seph's weakness, he more than make up his lack of firepower (compared to Seph. By himself, Odin seems formidable enough!) with faster, harder to block/avoid blows.

Ex predicted that Seph would try and use his superior firepower to KO Odin quickly using a combo while Odin would use the "dodge-master" strategy and take off Seph's Life Force bit by bit.

OOC: Okay, last post from me in this thread. Seph, you've got a challenge then. This post will be like the intro to our personal battle. You go ahead and start the thread.

Schwa had read Seph's mind while he was thinking about himself... Born a killer, eh? THAT needed some straightening up. He pats Sion's shoulder. "Gotta go. Root for your friends." He then turns, dashes away from the arena, summons his crystal disc and armor, and rockets into the heavens toward the HQ for all Psi Warriors: Crystal Psipalace.

Schwa confronts the holy deity of the Psipalace known simply as 'Sensae'. He kneels.

"Sensae... I have found a new target."
"Well done, my child. Explain to me about Elite Seph."
"He is being clouded by an Evil thought... a craving to kill others. I will spar with him tomorrow and attempt to neutralize the Evil that harms him. He has great potential for an elite warrior, but to become the strongest, his Evil side must be kept in check."
"Profound, Schwa. You will need this new move to fight effectively enough. Let me teach you..." Sensae and Schwa then begin a short training session, and Schwa learns a new attack that night (not yet mentioned in Profile). He goes to sleep and, in a dream, plans how the spar shall go...

Odin looks around as the attack comes, seemingly scanning the attack rather than getting an early dodge.

"So, this will be simple."

Odin looked around one more time and then bolted forward, making sure to stay out of the lasers paths, right again at Seph.

"Slashing Spin!"

Odin jumped in the air and seemed to stop moving, and started to spin rapidly, forcing the air to spin with him. The air attempted to lift Seph up and drag him right into the spin. Although the attack looked like it had trapped Odin in itself, he was in complete control, ready to move in less then a second.

Elite Seph: "You annoy me!"

Seph screamed in rage. His excrutionatingly high pitched-tone of voice was felt everywhere, and was loud enough to make even the practically-deaf shudder in fear of his ears bleeding open, or so it seemed.

As he had done so, he had begun to call out this next spell's name.

RE-DEFINE ELEMENT ABSORB!

Though not directly portrayed, the reasoning behind him using such a spell was at this point obvious: he was being re-directed into his own energy blast which, while it would only replenish life force instead of draining it, it seems he had another option when struck with his own power: change the nature of it's contents completely, and revitalize it into a whole new, different, and more powerful tech, thus not needing to spare a turn or two to charge it.

Elite Seph: "Time for me to really bounce back into this battle... go on, make your next move! I don't know how much, or how little, it will do for you, but to me, it should do a whole lot of good."

Odin laughed as the end of his sword began to glow while he kept up his spin. In a slurred voice, disrupted because of the wind, Odin began to explain.

"Yooouu haavvve nooo cluuee!"

Odin began to spin faster, but there were no air currents as he increased speed. In a perfectly clear voice he shouted out.

"Blade of Destruction!"

Odin shot a beam out from his sword, but because he was spining the beam spun with him, covering the entire arena, blowing up each time it came in contact with something.

"Heh."

Odin stopped spinning after a few seconds and landed gravefully on his feet, ready to go at it again.

Ex smiled.

Seph wouldn't be able to absorb this attack. He had redefined his elemental strenght to fire/heat and his enemy's attack was wind/energy.

As such, she espected Odin's attack to inflict massive damage, whenever Seph absorb it or not.

Seph was a powerful warrior... but his robotic form has a flaw that is much more serious than just the speed of his attacks... Seph's robotic body was filled with killer instincts that hindered Seph's mind and forced him to foil his own attack plans thus leaving him wide open.

Fortunately, becease that he was strong mentally, Seph was able to control his anger relatively well and his occasional fits of rage didn't lasted that long. However, if Odin was to provoke Seph into becoming beserk, then Odin would definitely be able to lead the fight and defeat Seph with relative ease...

... and the worst was that, unlike what Ex had espected, Odin wasn't as stupid as he seemed at first! In fact, she began to wonder if behind the apparent stupidity there would be great intelligence.

It wouldn't be the first time. It is a classic strategy... you make your opponent think you're stupid while you lure him where you want him to go... a classic strategy that works almost everytime and against almost any foe. Even Ex herself had used it, in the past... and the strategy had been used against her as well.

Even deadlier than an intelligent warrior is a intelligent warrior with the appearance of a stupid one...

OFF: This may seem like "copying" someone in particular's move, but Elite Seph is part of the Hunter's squad like Zerodius and thus, knows a lot of the same moves and techs he does, so... there's your explaination.
____________________________________________________________________
Elite Seph: "Oh, no... I think I do!"

X2!

x2: A special power-up ability that, for one turn ONLY, Elite Seph has the ability to either combine two attacks/combos and use it as one ultra-powerful tech or unleash two attacks/combos separately. However, this "taxes" the caster by subduing a certain amount of Life Force equal to 20% the amount of damage that is accumulated to the target by both techs.

COUNTER!

Elite Seph unleashed his charged magical energy by returning ALL of the damage back at Odin under the form of a gigantic storm of negative energy! Not only that, but the attack will do more than twice the damage Elite Seph would have received if he wouldn't have used Counter as well, whereas the caster only received a tenth the amount of damage he would have otherwise...

When that was all said and done, Seph prepared to strike at Odin yet again, this time, with the attack he intended to use before Odin interveined.

BLOODLUST!

Elite Seph's eyes turned blood red for seconds...

And then unleashed his other charged energy under the form of a large wave of dark energy (it's a Vampire tech!) that, should it hit, it will drain large quantities of blood from the target, thus transferring it over to the caster, which would be used to replenish health if successful, while doing very serious damage (especially if the target is vulnerable towards dark-elemental techs).

On the other hand, Seph felt very "tired" from using so many attacks and so much power all at the same time, and felt a noticable decrease in life force.

Odin couldn't stop counter as he took direct damage from his own attack where Seph would have only taken indirect. Odin didn't move, but he could feel some pain. He had trained against his own attacks, making sure he would be able to resist them if it came to the desperate situation. Positive energy began to charge around his sword.

"I'm glad I know at least one holy attack... Positive Oracle Slash!"

Odin slashed downwards heavily, shooting out holy oracle energy from his blade in a wave that smashed into the dark energy, both attacks stopped in mid-air after a mild explosion. After the explosion cleared Odin seemed to be everywhere, after images of himself all around Seph.

Ex was surprised by Seph.

Seph was very hasty in his strategy, pulling off his big moves right at the start... but Ex knew that it also meant that unless Seph finished this fight soon, it would spell doom to him as unleashing such techs require large amounts of energy.

Ex was a bit surprised to see Seph use some of her former abilities... namely, a tech that only Hunter agents use normally (X2) and a Dark Overdrive (Counter).

However, Seph's form wasn't quite able to use both moves at full power since Seph lacked the technology to pull off X2 without draining Life Force. He wasn't able to use Counter at it's true form for many reasons... namely, Seph was trapped inside of that metallic body and second, Seph didn't have a Dark Weapon... isn't it?

Seph doubted that he had a Dark Weapon with him... but who knows?

As for Odin, he had grown in Ex's estime. Odin proved to be far smarter than she had tought... but still not as much as she had hoped.

She had tought that Odin would notice that Seph was open to attacks and execute a combo or two... but Odin simply unleashed a single illusion-based attack.

Ex didn't knew what was Seph's elemental weakness in his current form... but Light-elemental was probable which means that the attack will probably drain a lot of Life Force from Seph... but on another hand, the attack's secondary effect won't work on Seph.

Unless Seph's metallic body's senses totally replace her natural senses, Seph should be able to see trought illusions (altought not as well as if he was out of the metallic body) and thus, ignore the secondary effect.

This far, Ex tought that she was right. Seph was trying to finish Odin quickly with powerful attacks while Odin played "dodge master" and tried to wear Seph down little by little.

Dark Deception II: The sequel to the original "Dark Deception" tech, which is a more stronger version of Havok's "Death" tech that, upon impact, inflicts instant death upon the target. Dark Deception II, while not inflicting instant death, strikes the target by meticulously throwing coffins around everywhere, and lining them up to surround the target from all sides and angles, and then attempting to blast him/her with ALL of his or her weaknesses in the form of a dark hazeous entity. The more damage is dealt to the target, the more Life Force and MP shall be replenished by the caster.

NOTE: this isn't breaking the rules because I didn't attack twice this turn. I simply did an action (Illusion Smasher), and THEN attacked, which is legal.

"To bad really, that would have worked well."

All of the Odin's kept going in a circle uneffected.

"This isn't an illusion, at least one made by magic, because I don't possess that ability. The only ability I possess is an incredible speed, making it appear to be more than one of me, when it is just the minds concept of not understanding fast enough."

The real Odin stopped as the coffins began to come towards him, as soon as he stopped every illusion kept running until they met with his body, all of them vanishing as they met up with his body.

"Now to deal with this."

Odin looked around him as the coffins became extremely close, to close to dodge.

"Annilation!"

Odin held his sword up above him and a huge explosion occured, consuming everything around him. As the explosion kept going, it didn't just suddenly stop, it slowly grew, slowly spreading out over everything.
