So far I've played only the first world, but since this is such a lively discussion, I'll add my 2 cents.

First of all, I have the "better" version, I guess, but there are still a lot of ExGFX issues. Seriously, SMWExpert needed a beta test or something to get this all straight before he released the hack. It's probably easily fixable, but it's just sloppy.

The level design. Hm. It's not terrible, but it seems so.. illogical. It seems like SMWExpert just kinda designed levels kinda like, "Okay... let's have one of those moving rope things... and then... how about a fence? Yea, a fence. And then there should be a billion koopas in the next part." It just seems so random and incohesive. The balance is good and stuff, but the design is disenchanting.

Overworld is pretty bland, yea. But I don't have as high of standards for overworld as some people here do. Oh well.

I'll finish this hack later.

Yeah, I didn't test this hack much. My mistake-although the next release won't have THAT many changes, just a few small changes to make it better.

It's really rare that I'm evil, but...

The best level in the game only made me poke out an eye and that level was "#2 Morton's Plains", since it wasn't edited.

Yeah. Speaking of Morton's Plains... In my hack is was clever because of the placement of the level (right where it is at first, I just have a really hidden path that takes you to it), but in this... It's just sad. I mean, it just seems like you put it there because you were too lazy to make another level to put there.

Oh, and it's not that I had trouble with Dino Sea Swamps, it was really easy, but when I beat it, the path was revealed, but I couldn't travel along it. It wouldn't let me.

I wasn't too lazy, I just wanted that level put SOMEWHERE in my hack...

Weird, everyone else is talking about getting to Lemmy's Castle, and getting to world 4, and they're saying it's good. I don't know why you can't go along the path. I didn't lock it, so anyone can look at it and see any mistakes.

Ultimate Challenge doesn't lead to anything. Yes, that's intentional....it's just like a Just-For-Fun level. There's an unrevealed path on it, yes (And by the way, why do you say the overworld is glitched? It wasn't for me), but that's actually a shortcut from World 6 that you'll find later in the game. That's why I put it there. There's a pipe in World 6, and it leads to that area, when those tiles get revealed. So that was intentional-why would I want you skipping to World 6?

*EDIT* Sorry Luigisan, it's actually Sky World 4, not 5.

*EDIT2* I had already used the level Morton's Plains was already on for a different level ("Candy Secret") so I couldn't have put it where it already was.

Well, it's not really GLITCHED, per se... But the overworld paths reveal in the wrong order, and some reveal in the wrong place.

Just downloaded it to see what it was like. Haven't played it yet, though. I will just play it in my free time. That is what I do with all completed hacks. Not too many of those, though.

From the screenshots, it looks weird. Sometimes, the weirdest hacks are the ones that I like to play, such as SMW-.

Simple: He put #2 Morton's Plains (a level in the original game, but never used... It's level 017, it's basically Donut Plains 1 but with the wrong foreground/background GFX set loaded so the background is messed up) in so he wouldn't have to make a level to put in that slot.

Yes, that's another gripe. If we want to play original levels, we play the original SMW. This sounds like an excuse to not make another level, or an oversight, more than anything else.

Did any of you read that post I made? I had already used the area Morton's Plains was on for another level. If that level hadn't existed I wouldn't have put any level there in the first place! I wasn't planning for Candyland 2 to have 2 exits.

You know the level that Morton's Plains is already on? I had already chosen a different level to be at that area in the map, but I wanted to put Morton's Plains somewhere, and I just decided to put it there. Candyland 2 didn't originally have 2 exits.
