'Microsoft Antispyware is still in its Beta version (experimental version). Over a period of time software developers will know the flaws in the antispyware and would hopefully rectify them.' They put way too much emphasis on 'hopefully'. This is Microsoft. :\ |

That article confused me a bit at first. I thought they were saying that spyware was built into the program from the start, but after reading some parts a couple times over, it sounds like it's spreading via email. I wish they'd tell exactly how it's spreading but the email thing seems the most likely. I installed Microsoft AntiSpyware a couple months ago, as I had a problem in Giant AntiSpyware where any alert boxes that popped up would scroll up and off the top of the screen ![]() ![]() The details on Sophos make it sound pretty nasty as well. I can't blame you for being glad you have a Mac, Tarale ![]() |

Yes, the article wasn't well written Karadur, so it is confusing. As for Giant AntiSpyware having a problem and Microsoft AntiSpyware having the same one... that's not surprising. The Microsoft one IS Giant AntiSpyware (Microsoft bought it); and I'm guessing they haven't fixed that bug. ![]() |

It's actually not SpyWare at all, but a trojan. It still requires the user to be stupid and run the file of their own accord. | |||

Considering how far Spybot and Ad-aware have gotten. I doubt that Microsoft would get far with this program, considering how the others ones are still free. ![]() Microsoft's ad-aware program is not going to touch my computer. |

I installed MS AntiSpyware yesterday to throw it down again. I never ran into too much spyware on that machine; Alexa was on the way, yes, what always is implemented in a virgin Windows and Internet Explorer ![]() I'm not in a need to run another tool, although the GUI was looking neat and the program scanned the files deeply ![]() I'm satisfied with the triple combo Firefox, Spybot and AdAware, never got any tracking cookie or other malicious thing after using these three, along with regular scans with an up-do-date antivirus. |

Yeah, they bought Internet Explorer from Sprynet. ![]() This is funny, but not uncommon for any anti-evil program. |

The only safe way to do it, IMO, is to have several different blocking applications to protect your computer. |
