| Hey guys I'm new here but I've had quite a bit of experience with the rpg maker series. I was reading an article about rm2003 and apparently some of them were shipped with a program called rpg maker alpha, used for making games for i-mode mobile phones. Does anyone know anything about it, or if it's any good? Cheers |

I've never heard of it before.  *looks it up*"Included with the first printing of RPG Maker 2003 is RPG Maker Alpha, an RPG Maker application designed for the NTT DoKoMo 503 (i-mode compatible) cell phone. With this application, you can make a game playable on compatible cell phones using your PC. Using the internet, you can send games to your friends, too. With RPG Maker Alpha, it is possible to use all the basic functions that make a game, such as swtich management, shops, battles, and the like. The extent of RPG Maker Alpha's functionality, however, depends on the data storage capacity of the cell phone to which the game is to be transferred. To make it easier to tailor your game to a specifc cell phone, RPG Maker Alpha can be set for 10K mode or 30K mode. In 10K mode, not all event commands can be used and only one character may be in the party at once. In the 30K edition, not only can you use all event commands, but you can also set vehicles such as ships and airships, and have a party of up to three characters." Interesting. Doesn't look like they have anything for newer phones though and seems like they stopped working on the project. :/ |
