| In the picture that the guy thought he was flying without wings and the other guy thought he was shot from a cannnon, I have a comment about it. He has to be flying, when you are sent from a cannon, he doesnt spread his arms like that. | |||

| I am pretty positive this is from the Japanese version of SM64: http://dhost.info/crazystuff/z64station/images/supermario64/mario01.jpg I had a Nintendo Power a LONG time ago that had this shot (except at a different angle, and mario wasn't up on the stairs, he was on ground level below the stairs), and they said it was the japanese version. There were a bunch of shots included and I know 100% this was one of them. I also remember another cap in the game called the Twin Cap. It made a duplicate of mario, and it made him have that invisible cap look. It showed that you could get the cap by going over the water fall that is located outside the castle. I dont think it was in NP, I think is was on the internet. It could be fake, I dont know. But I remember always trying to fly over the water fall by getting shot out of the cannon with the wing cap on. (edited by Keikonium on 02-12-05 09:51 PM) |

| Really! Oh, guess I will try and find that NP mag. I know for sure they had that screen shot and said it was from the japanese version. Maby it was the beta version but japanese? There's a well-known GS code for that. It does seem like they had designed it to have a lot more stars, though. The code sets all the 'star collected' flags, and there are like 55 extra 'castle secret star' flags which aren't used in the game.  |

| Weird. I do recall a very, weird and messed up rumor about Luigi. Somehow in the Volcanoe level, while in the actual Volcanoe, you can jump through the lava waterfall and there'll be a Luigi Painting there, then you jump through it and play as Luigi in some special level. BS I know, but it was funny to hear.  Speaking of these weird glitches and "secret" talk, there were a ton for OoT that were just hilarious, especially the ones revolving around the Triforce and "obtaining" it ...  ... I also remember one where you'd shoot some gold thing on the tree in front of Lon Lon Ranch and a Golden Tunic would fall down.And I've heard a lot more dumber things than these for both this game and OoT. | I remember the gold tunic rumor. I also remember the gold tunic GS code. It was cool. I remember one particular rumored way to get Luigi that told you in detail which stars to get in what order and when you get to the second snow level where the mirror is yoru reflection would turn into Luigi, when you punch him you would trade places. When I got Luigi in SM64DS it made me wonder if Ninteno had read that rumor. | |||

| A wierd phoenomen with games but, people always say like the Japanse version always have more features. But honestly, if there was a big diffrence between the Jap and Eng version then we all would know about it. Althought some people say it's not possible to get triforce, well. It's partly possible, Link actually get triforce of courage during the game. That's not the whole thing, but that's a part. |

| I know this isn't the topic for OoT, but you can actually see the real triforce in the game (with use of the moonjump GS code). Go to Zelda's courtyard as a kid, and while facing zelda, moonjump the wall to the left. Make sure you stay hovering, now slowly go under the courtyard ground. You will see the triforce, full, 3D spinning there. You can't obtain it or anything, but it is there!! Back on topic: I remember a luigi rumor about him being in the lava world as well. I dont think it was about a lava fall but I do remember hearing about him being in the game. What you had to do was go thru all the rings in the skycap level. He would then appear ontop of the castle and you could play as him. Obviously false, but still rumors are fun to hear! |

| Rumors are definitely entertaining. Especially back in the day for the N64 days, when I was young, and way too gullible to believe them. The thing is, these two games (SM64 and OoT) are the only two games where I've heard so much rumors. There's never really be any other game out there that I've seen that's gotten this amount of publicity over rumors and such. Goldeneye was probably another. | I remember all those silly rumors and "tricks." I used gameshark on Silver to create a collection of miscellaneous glitched creatures. I eventually stopped when a mutant Venomoth(?) tried to learn the move "GARY" 3 times in one level... Yeah. I jumped into the lava waterfall in the volcano, but I didn't know about the rumor. I just wanted to see Mario get roasted sideways. |

| I actually tried that lava waterfall one, but I was more curious if there was anything up there. And I wasn't really expecting to find Luigi up there. And well, there is one way to get mew througha glitch. I posted a thread about it for two years ago, and it's on gamefaqs too. |
