What's so different about your city? I live in San Antonio, Texas and have been here for 8 years. Weather: Usually muggy and gets to about 45* (avg.) in the winter and around 95* (avg.) in the summer. When it's not muggy, it's rainy; there's rarely any snow. Winters are rainy and cold, the roads become very slick mostly after the rain begins. Small Things: -Pepsi is called Pepsi Si (Pepsi Yes in Spanish) -HEB is our local grocery store -Judson High School is the biggest (and most notorius) High School in the city and has the highest crime rate. -The Forum (a large strip mall located in Selma, about a mile and a half from where I live) -Rolling Oaks Mall (a relatively old mall about 5 miles west of Selma) -Rolling Oaks Theatre (a new theatre, very attractive arhitecture, located across the highway south of the Forum) Language: -Ese' (pronounced "essay" means "that" in spanish, it's slang for "friend", "n00b" or "inferior white person") -Y'all (short for "you all" or "you guys") -Wetback (rascist remark for mexican) -Beaner (another rascist remark for mexican) -Gringo (rascist remark for white or american) -Pilgrim (rascist remark for white or northerner) --famous saying, "Who you calling 'illegal', pilgrim!" Food: -Minudo (Traditionally made for new years, it's a soup with homony and pigs feet, very good with lemon) Landmarks and Attractions: -The Alamo (where David Bowie drew a line and Santa Anna and his troops massacred the Texans, a must see. -Ripley's Believe it or Not! Wax Museum (Across the street from the Alamo, it has wax figures of different celebrities, a Believe it or Not oddity museum, a hunted house, and a birth of christ exhibit) -Natural Bridge Caverns (Located North of the Downtown area, this is another big tourist attraction with deep underground caverns and amazing formations) -Six Flags Fiesta Texas (A large theme park with tejuano music and german polka playing in the air, the most noticable ride, "the Scream") -Canyon Lake (another attraction North of downtown, it's populaur for fishing, boating, skiing, and camping) -The Alamo Dome (where the Spurs play their games and some major events take place) -Bluestar Cafe (Located in the Downtown area, it's a brewery and an artgallery. They hold the night gallery, first friday, say si, and theatre performances. This is where I sell my paintings) -Shlitterbahn (A Large waterpark located in New Braunfels near the Comal River, it has many slides, playgrounds, and tube shoots. Terrible service though... I almost drowned there thrice in one day, one incident where I was lodged underneath everyone as they crashed at the end of the shoot... bad experiences given the name, "Shitterbahn" in my book) Events: -Wurstfest (In New Braunfels, you go to the place where the event is held, it's different every year, and there's cheap beer, a variety sausages, and tons of food.) Military Bases: -Randolph AFB (Has the "Taj Mahal" and is the place I used to live in and where I work in AEMRS's database management facility) -Kelly AFB -Fort Sam Houston (An army base with a memorial graveyard and one of the biggest gyms in San Antonio) |

South Florida: Though we are very down south, the northern and middle part of Florida is more south than we are. No one here has an accent, unless you are Spainsh (full or part) and some people here do not speak English and it pisses some people off because of that. | |||

Amarillo, TX Famous for: When Oprah sued the beef packing community, she came here to do it. The bell-helicopter plant outside of town was recently chosen as the company to make the next presedential helicopter. The Big Texan, home of the free 72 oz. steak dinner, if eaten within one hour. When I worked there, there were people that came from all over the world to try the steak. |

Sortland, Norway. Not famous for anything. Well, this town is located on a group of islands, with lots of beatiful nature. It is also the 'capitol' of this region of islands. This town also has lots of commercial activity for it's size. And it is the host of the coast guard base in Northern Norway. There are only two of those in all of Norway. And there has been a more or less failed project to paint the town blue. |

Marlboro, Massachusets. We got invaded by Brazillians, they don't speak english nor do they make much of an effort to. As a result, it makes purchasing just about anything anwhere extremly difficult. Luckily, the MAJOR restaurants (as in, not Burger King) still have Ennglish, or Asian (since I like asian food ) workers...I'm not a racist, just you know...they don't even make much of an effort. And an entire part of down town turned into all Brazillian, no english speaking places...which I don't care for. But the rest is nice. We're known because our twon hall used to be between a porno shop and a gun store, and everyone thought that was a riot, until the porno shop closed down for not paying bills. Heh. Also, we have that racist sack of shit The Skunk, the ex-pro wrestler who ran for mayor and tried to instill anti-non-white ideology. He now works in a 7-11 and wears a really bad wig. Restaurants around here...we have a NICE Itallian restaurant around here, down town. I only went once but its VERY popular. We also have a nice slew of Chinese restaurants, but one town over in Sudburry is the best Japanese restaurant EVER, so I generaly will go there if I want to eat any good asian food. |

Columbus, Ohio Weather: Winters can get pretty cold (ranging from sub-zero to 30s, normally), and actually this winter we got nailed with like 18 inches of snow in one night, and summers can get pretty hot, but most frustratingly humid. Our summers seem much hotter than they are due to this. Stuff that's here: -The Ohio State University, the largest university in the country, a pretty good school with a sweet football team. Frank Sinatra even says so in the original Manchurian Candidate. ("Columbus, that's a hell of a football town.") -Capitol building of Ohio and other legislative devices. -Other stuff that I don't know about because I'm a shut-in. Fun facts: -According to this pen made up by the OSU Student Wellness Center, 70% of students don't drink and drive. Which apparantly means that 30% do. Which equates to about 15,000 people. In a 10 mile radius. Awesome. |

Originally posted by The_RavenCreepy. Thats exactly where we are going for a band competition in April. Northern Virginia... actually, Ive lived in VA for my entire life, NVA for 14 years. My city is really quite as average as one can really get. There arent any theme parks , or major tourist attractios nearby. We have a fairly large mall though. Weather has a wide range. Warm summers, cold winters. (I do believe the entire temp span is from 103 to single digits) so theres really nothing to miss out on. Plenty of snow (Oddly enough, it has a tendancy of going SLIGHTLY north of us.) Plenty of rain, plenty of sun. If theres one thing our area is good on its education. From what Ive heard, our area is one of the top 10 educational places in the US, so I guess thats a plus. Honestly, nothing really exciting happens around here, so... this is quite a boring town |

Orange County, California. I dont have a whole lot of knowledge as to the history of my town, but its in the OC. You get the gist of it. There are a whole lot of people, a whole lot of places, and a crapload of things to do. Hollywood and Los Angeles are very close by. There are a lot of sports teams and arenas, plenty of colleges and businesses, and way more McDonalds and Subways than we need. But the balance each other out. And the weather is almost always hot and sunny. Its been less than 2" of rain a year for about 5 years. And my city was named the 3rd safest city in California. I dont remember what the first 2 were. Thats just a side fact, woo. I like it here. =) |

Santa Rosa, California. It rains a good amount, I think. I've lived here for most of my life, and I've only seen it snow once in the daytime. It was like an inch, and a city next to us had all their schools close for the day. Did my school close? This is where Charles Schulz lived, so there's a Charlie Brown museum.. I think. I'm pretty sure I didn't just make that up. The airport here is also named after him. When this local guy, Ram |

Beloit, Wisconsin Ok it's a small town with hardly anything to do anymore. I doubt there's anything famous or landmarks here. I can be wrong though you may never know. |
