You obviously haven't seen any of the episodes this season. You definitely have to watch this month. Not only do they explain Klingon ridges while taking EVERY bit of canon into account, but the 700th hundred Trek episode is a 2-parter that takes place in the Mirror Universe, complete with a Constitution-class starship.

The first 3 seasons did. They had already written it off before this season started. Which is unfortunate, given that its the best season of post-TNG Trek.

that's not saying much when you have DS9 and Voyager to compete against

DS9 was easily the best Trek series. It had a lot more emphasis on character development than any of the Treks, and it wasn't fly around in a spaceship, encounter x/y/z phenomenon, use x/y/z/wesley to escape phenomenon, every episode.

DS9 was a bore! no one cares about character development.... we want action and suspense!

I'll give you that DS9 may have had best character development.... but I would not give it the best of all star treks....

It also had the best space battles seen in any Trek, period.

I now realize that I forgot to adequately state the scope of this problem. This is expected to be the end of Star Trek for at least 10-15 years. Thats 1 - 1 1/2 decades without any new Trek. Think about it.

Enterprise was a brilliant pioneer series. I hated Voyager, too much action, too much whacky and only one innovation. Species 8472.

Enterprise is more politically keyed and has a lot more thought and sentiment put into it than TNG. The only thing that it really needed was an injection of DS9 char. development. But then again, it had the best doctor, ever. Bakula made a somewhat pussy captain. There was tonnes of great stuff in that show.

I will really miss it.

It also could have used some better writing. If they had had someone like Manny Coto running the show from the beginning, this situation never would have occured.

It is unfortunate. Outside of Blalock (terrible) and Bakula (mediocre), they had some pretty decent actors.

I highly doubt it will be off the air for 10 to 15 years though. I give five years tops. Just long enough for Paramount to finally be rid of Berman (he's not well-liked by everyone there). Hopefully, they will get somebody with some talent to come in and resurrect the show.

Actually, its funny. Ron Moore ranted about this five years ago.

Yea, but sometimes, good shit gets the can. And its all about personal opinion anyway.

I'm not a trek fan, but I know people close to me that are, so they're taking the news a bit hard right now.

But you never know, maybe another station will pick them up later on.

"it's been a long road, getting from there to here"

Obviously not long enough for some of you.. it is VERY hard to actually FIND an episode of Enterprise on TV over here, so I never got nto it. TNG was my fave, and as any red blooded male would say - Seven of Nine intriuged me However Janeway had the most annoying accent EVER and the way in which she bitchslaps the best villains Trek ever had since the Klingons was woeful. Those fee eps of DS9 I saw, I liked, but the whole Bajoran political thingy sort of bogged it down. I liked the ones which tinkered with the format (the Mirror Universe eps, and the one where Sisko turns out to be a 50's sci fi writer were my faves). But ah well....

yeah, i'm kinda sad to hear that Enterprise isn't going to be renewed for a 5th season. The 4th season started off interesting but I haven't watched it for the past few months. It was difficult for it considering TNG, DS9, and Voyager came before it. Even Voyager was going to get cancelled until Seven of Nine came along. Well, I guess one could say it is amazing that it lasted this long.

Well, for the star trek fans, let's hope that this isn't the end of it.
