The problem with Canada is that the prices vary SO much. Large chain stores generally charge higher for video games up here because they can get away with it. In fact, I've seen a Walmart charge 10 dollars more for Battletanx or Metal Slug 3 than a local CD store is charging for them. They also charged upwards of 100 dollars extra on Steel Batallion. So for me pricing is a weird mix. Oddly enough it is only Walmart does this weird price thing in my town. Zellers is always too expensive, and EB/other chains are pretty damned good. 55 dollar KOTOR II? Yes please.

Just for clarification, that's Canadian dollars, right? Which would make it far cheaper than the standard 50 USD. =o

Not far cheaper. Well, yes. Given that the Canadian dollar is still trading quite strong and is at what? 77 cents...Just multiply by 1.23 So it is about 6 bucks cheaper. Still 6 bucks cheaper. Just like our $110 dollar GC.

There's a local store called BuyCo which is really awesome. They sell older systems and accessories, such as Ataris, Nintendos, Snes, Sega, etc. Quite a good selection of games for those systems too. It's also a used record store but I won't hold that against it. It's the very place I got my Super Advantange and my multitap.

For more recent systems I usually just hit up EB b/c it's close. Never go to big stores like Target or Walmart for games. Their selection suckkkkkkkkkkkkks.

Don't know where you live in canada, but here wal-mart is usually cheaper. I agree with Zellers being to expensive. Thats where I was going to buy FFX-2 and it would have cost me about $110.00 can. so thats why I bought it at walmart [82 bucks I think]) EB is expensive and toys r us is about the same.

BTW, ontario charges PST and GST so its more expensive here than other places in canada. Especially Newfoundland where I think its only PST, but I could be wrong

We got something like this too, in Quebec. Damn that 14.5% on everything.

And here, the Zellers near my house charges as much as Eb Games on most games ('cept GC games).

Thats what it is here to, about 15%.

7% GST
8% PST

I also live near Toronto Oh, and since a new walmart was built just down the road, everything is pretty cheap for their grand opening. I am getting NFS: UG2 on saturday, can't wait!

I thought Quebec was 7%/8% = 15%.

Kinda sours you when you want to buy a $50 game and get charged an extra $7.50 on top of that.

Colleen, imagine buying a laptop, like I just did.

Yeah. 1600 dollars. Times 1.15. That's a lot of tax.

Then again, I loves my healthcare.

Nope, it's supposed to be 14.5%, but everything rounds it anyway.

Gamestop. And even before I worked there, the people there are always nice and they know what they're talking about. And now that I do, I tend to have convos with customers about game and so forth (sometimes about anime as well). And as mentioned by Jarukoth, we tend to have some kick ass promos for those who reserve games. And sometimes, I'll just someone a demo of a game that they want to try (even if they don't buy anything).

Never heard of Game Crazy, then again I doupt many here have heard of Gameco.

I like Gamestop, it's usually cheaper than EB Games, and they usually have a much better selection of older used games, but for those kinds of things I'll go to an old Collectors store of some kind. (Vintage Stock? eh?)
