But that's what I don't get; why would you copy SMW music to SMW? Why not just leave it alone?

Because you currently have to choose between SMAS (which has some good tracks and some bad ones) and original SMW music (which has some few good tracks and many bad ones). With porting the good tracks from the SMW to the SMAS engine you can have all the good songs in one hack.

How easy will it be to transfer written sheet music into Solar Soundtrack?

It depends on how fast you can enter the notes into it.

I'm not very fond of the ghost house music, or the cave music. Even though they're all pretty much the same tune anyway.

I'm too used to all of the music in the game, so I just turn the sound off on ZSNES and listen to other songs while playing any SMW hack. Guess that'll change for some of the newer hacks coming out.

How quickly we change put the notes in? Is it, by chance, anything at all like NoteWorthy Composer? 'Cuz if it is, I'd become the Mozart of new SMW music with this thing.

is there a way of putting MIDI into the game? i mean any MIDI song, not just game music.

Not really. MIDI exceeds the possibilities of SPC by lengths, and it doesn't make a real difference whether the MIDI contains game music or anything else, since the format is still the same.
Theoretically, you, of course, could try to port MIDI to N-SPC, but it would be way too much work and the probability of receiving a valuable result would be close to zero.

@Xenon Odyssey, here is an older screenshot.

I should have added the question: Are there any keyboard short cuts? Such as Enter-Note, Space-Rest, (on the Num-Pad) 1-Whole, 2-Half, 3-Quarter, etc.? That's what I meant when I asked if it was like NoteWorthy Composer.

I do like the screenshot, though. Very nice layout; everything looks organized and such. Can't wait to try it! *drool*

Yes, there are some (as for the keyboard shortcuts).

Don't get your hopes too high, it may be a day or more, or it may be much longer if he can't fix the crashes and such. I myself wouldn't care about working around those just so I can make some hand made tracks for SMW(and possibly other games with the N-SPC engine if he adds support in the future).

Thanks for pointing it out. Actually I was heading for the end of the winter holidays, but I landed a wrong guess at when it should be (not the 15th, but the 20th, if you want to be very exact), since it is still half a week to go.
(i.e. I did need about one more week for it when I wrote that, and I was in skiing holidays during the first of the two weeks of holidays we have over here)

Hey, Blacky, don't rush yourself...getting the program nice and stable should take precedence over an early release. We've waited this long for a music editor, we can wait a little longer.

I disagree. I would rather have a buggy, half-working release right now then wait for a few stacks to be reorganized or a few crashes eliminated. Probably if he were releasing it to the general public it would be best to work these out, but this is Acmlm's board... a board centered around hacking software. I think everyone here has encountered enough crashed emulators here to handle a buggy Solar Soundtrack release. But that's just me.
