...Did you just order plain pancakes? Granted, it's been a LONG time since I've been to IHOP and I think the one just across the border shut down a few years back, but I seem to remember having some delicious plain pancakes there. Maybe you just got an off batch or something. :\ |

Went to IHop once...didn't like it. I guess I'm too much of a Denny's fan for my own good. Though I tend to get french toast moreso than their pancakes. | |||

The only pancakes I don't like are the ones you can get at Smitty's when you order something that comes with pancakes. There's two reasons for me not liking them: :: They're always the last thing I eat, and I usually try to finish them even if I'm feeling full, thus, I feel like I'm going to be sick, and I blame it on them :: How they make them. They're extremely fluffy, to use that expression Because of that, they come apart very easily, and can make a mess on the plate. It sometimes seems like they aren't cooked enough sometimes as well, because the inside is sort of soggy I can't believe I forgot about saying I use butter on my pancakes though When I have them, I spread butter on all of them, stack 'em up, cut them into pieces, put syrup on them, and eat up My Dad's had a few bad experiences with these things. Two times now, we've had chocolate milk at supper, and we have the syrup in a squeezable bottle. The actual pancake syrup is also on the table as well. He picks up the chocolate syrup by accident and starts putting it on his food Anyways, there's all the stuff I forgot, or never mentioned in my first post |

Originally posted by Colleen No, it was that chocolate pancake with the smiley face. I was young, I could get away with ordering that. I know it was just a bad batch, and that it doesn't apply to every pancake ever, I just always remember that. |

Cottage cheese pancakes are teh w00t. They're healthy and fun to make (even if you're like me and generally dislike cooking), and if you use my recipe, they'll taste like dessert. 3 or 4 eggs 1 1/2 cups of cottage cheese 8 teaspoons of Splenda (you can use sugar if you prefer it, but I like Splenda because it tastes the same and has zero calories) Vanilla and orange extract to taste 1 1/2 cups of plain uncooked oatmeal Start the blender and put everything in in that order, making sure that the blender contents are well-mixed before you add the next major ingredient. I find that it works best to not dump all the oatmeal in at once. Add maybe half of the oatmeal, let the blender run until it's absorbed, and then add the rest. Blend the mixture until it's smooth. Cook like normal pancake batter over medium heat (put batter on the skillet, flip the pancake when it bubbles, cook until done) and enjoy. I usually top mine with cinnamon and more Splenda. Fruit or syrup would probably be good as well. |

There seem to be two types of pancakes, the really flat kind that is popular in Sweden and that thick kind that people eat as breakfeast in US. (or at least, that's what movies ETC tells us ) I usually eat pancakes with Jam, or just plain sugar. Happened that I had ice cream or cream. |
