Because I cant find it... and I dont know what it's called...

Doki Doki Panic. BMF is/was working on changing SMB2 into a deluxe version of DDP. It's on his website.

Well...this is sorta like a wishlist mixed with stuff that's basicly gonna be in the works...

-Full or decent hack of SMA1-SMB2 (editor could be nice...I already started fooling with the ROM a bit, but have only hacked the sound and graphics so far)

-DKC editor or Hack (I'll have to see what Yoro comes up with in the next year or so )

-Editor for Final Fantasy Legend 2 (theres already a nice stats editor made by someone here...and I really wanna start foooling with maps again soon)

-Full Pokemon hack of some sort (would be awesome if I could finish Luna/Sol this year )

"-Musical hacks of games like Metroid and F-Zero, who have recieved really awesome updates to their music in sequels and remakes."
^--- fulfill that request. I already did a shitload of work to F-Zero, so...

oh and umm...seeing Yoro finish that CGB dev she was working on wouldn't hurt, either

Doki Doki Panic was for the Famicom Disk System... so you probably won't find it on the usual NES ROM sites. Anyway... if you've played the US version of SMB2... you're not missing much. Aside from graphical differences... the only real change is that you can't hold B to run. A few songs are different (pretty much just the Mario-themed ones... like when you go in a potion door)

I think the plot was different too... like instead of it being a dream, you got sucked into a book or something. There might have been some video sequences which explained it too. But really... the actual game wasn't very different... if different at all.

And actually.... the SMB2 version is way better.

- Translations of SNES puzzle games: namely Panel de Pon, Kirby Kira Kizzu (Super Star Stacker?), and whatever's the best Puyo Puyo.

- A worthwhile hack using the Sonic 3 engine (instead of part 1 or 2)

- Unlock/create the modes above Ace League in F-Zero 2

- A better way to change the language in Wario Land 3, having to start a new game is pointless

- Pokemon Crystal hack of any sort

I'm only mentioning the easiest ones I've thought of. That first one is mostly what I want.

If this were to come to be, then I'd make SMW my bitch

I'd like to see the same said features for the Genesis emulator family so I could do overhauls to Sonic games.
Hey, Dahrkdaiz!

You KNOW you wanna.

NO! SMB2 is my absolutely least favorite SMB game, hands down. However.... I have hacked it and added a few features. Like I re-wrote it's TSA engine and almost had it where you could switch characters mid-level :/

That's what I came up with. Maybe I could open it back up and go somewhere with it and let someone else do the levels. Creating levels is such a tedious task for me :/

Oh yeah, that was another thing...since you mentioned SNES puzzlers...I've been screwing around with this sailor moon game, Panic in Nakayoshi Land...adictive puzzler, and I had the maps completly scoped out...the sound format is almost all I have left to figure out, asside maybe one or two other minor things asside from of course translating it I'll probably make a non-Sailor Moon-esque hack of it, or perhaps just go in a little different directon (I'm just affraid no one owuld play it if I kept the Sailor Moon aspect )

There was an editor for that game's levels, did you use that or refind the level data yourself? Also, you could translate it, and then make something like a Yoshi version by hacking the tunes and graphics and create another Tetris Attack type change, which I thought of doing once.

Actualy, I originaly found alot of the level data myself, but then found out afterwards there was an editor it actualy works quite nicely, so I was just like..whatever, and ended up using that. Not much point in me finding data for my own sort of editor if I'm content with the one there is now..and its not like anyone else would use it anyway, if they even use the current one.

As for translating it...someone did translate it, but didn't do that great of a job, at least in my mind. I'm probably gonna re-translate it myself (I might use their font), or fix up theirs, depending on how I decided to go about doing things.

As for actualy hacking it...I was thinking of possibly taking a Zelda-themed approach to it, though a Yoshi cameo isn't entirely out of the question

I'd volunteer, but I developed a deep hatred for that game's level format while working on LotBB2. There were many occasions where I couldn't do something relatively simple due to inherent engine limitations, or had to open a hex editor and tweak the data manually. It didn't help that Acmlm's editor has some pretty evil bugs...

Panel de Pon is great -- it's my girlfriend's favorite game and we play it all the time. I was just about to post something asking for tips on hacking it, as everything seems to be compressed.

Keitaro, where's Hinata, if you don't mind me asking? I live near a neighborhood with a similar name.

Oh boy, this'll be fun

-At the very very top is, no not Super Metroid related, but in fact, Sonic related. NES and SNES hacking is widespread, but I have yet to see anything truly extensive as far as Genesis hacking goes. I've played several Sonic hacks, and while some of them are fun, many are unable to go beyond level and palette editing. I wish to learn more about the Genesis and it's processor so I can create my ultimate dream-hack: A hack of the original Sonic the Hedgehog.

- A competent SNES debugger would own. Geiger has the next best thing with his snes9x tracer, and the emulator sleuth has useful debugging features. However, an emulator with abilities akin to that of fceud, fceudx, and Visual Boy Advance would own immensely

- More Super Metroid hacks. SMILE is progressing to the point where anybody could make a good SM hack with some time, but the fact of the matter is there aren't enough people finishing these things. In fact, the best Super metroid hacks I've played were made by Japanese hackers!

- I wish I could finish my project. It's very extensive, moreso than anything else that has been attempted thus far (yes, that includes Mario Adventure and DXOII, provided DXOII doesn't have anything else major up its sleeve). However, with suck extensiveness comes a lot of work and effort on my part. I can only hope I don't lose interest part way through as I usually do in large projects.

- Better resources for hacking SPCs. Nothing universal, just... something beyond the cryptic docs I've been used to reading. We'll have to see.

the SPC hacking document I released wasn't all that criptic...in fact if you know basic terminology and can use a hex editor, it practicly wrote itself

I heard that...I give anyone respect who can work around that editor. Hell, my SMB2 hack is on hold because of the bugs. Hopefully, we'll be blessed with a working SMB2 editor one day. *Googie wishes for SMB2W*

-A Ninja Gaiden editor (I mean come on! The data is at the beginning of the rom... and I hate editing in hex when I can't see how it works...)
-An editor for SM64
-Starfox editor
-Some sort of Kirby game editor (I don't care which one, as long as it is one of the platform ones)
-Me understanding more complex ASM stuff
-Me actually getting BMF's hdma code to work
-Eggvine to support more features
-Most of what other people said
