SuprNova says so.

Those that don't know, it would be the next-gen BitTorrent downloading program that's been in dev for a while and made known when SuprNova died.

Thoughts?

It was a very nice idea, a really nice one. But, sloncek is a whore. It's going to contain ads, and I'll bet, spyware.
sloncek had a site with billions of copyrighted materials and suddenly he decides "hey, this'll cost money", which coincidentally, it won't, unless he hires someone. It'll only take his own time. As it did for the maker of bittorrent. But sloncek is a whore, a bitch, and he wants to make money on this grand opportunity by spoiling what seemed to be a really good idea >(

Edit:
Let me add some more from slashdot;
"Third, there's a mystery company. Someone is paying Sloncek. He won't say who, but there's a history in the p2p world of secretive development. Since Exeem is to be adware, someday it will have a billing address, which means the legal issues faced by predecessors like Napster and Kazaa will be forthcoming, which is of course why we have a mystery company that Sloncek won't talk about in the first place. We definitely haven't heard the last of this.

Personally I was hoping for more: source code and cross platform compatibility never hurts. These are the things that made BitTorrent a huge success. I guess I was hoping for a new protocol instead of just another Kazaa. I guess I was hoping for a monumental leap, and instead Exeem to be a more incremental step. I'm sure we'll learn more in the coming weeks."

"eXeem is basically a File-Sharing program. It's like Kazaa and BitTorrent altogether"

Like Kazaa, eh?

I look forward to the day eXeem will be released but if it contains ads or spyware or other shit, I

Any sort of P2P program that has spyware and such isn't making it close to this computer. I was looking forward to seeing what this program was going to be like, but I'm thinking differently now

Although, I wonder if something like Diet-K will eventually be made for this That was a nice little tool for those that still wanted to use Kazaa, but now that pratically nobody uses it (to my knowledge), it's rather useless

As long as I know of sites out there that have torrents, that'll suit me fine The only thing I see eXeem making it easier for is searching for various stuff.

*sigh* What did I tell ya? I didn't have such a negative view of this idea for no reason. It comes from 17 1/2 years of experience.

Nope, not based on eXeem anyway, maybe a person that tried to mimic the technique, but since exeem will be copyrighted it won't be like bittorrent with loads of different clients to choose from.

1) Doesn't Opera (and a few other programs) have a banner system in place? I don't think any of those programs have spyware. (If the sole function of the software is to simply place the banner in the program, I can't see any harm there unless people click links that they shouldn't.)

2) And if it has spyware... so what? We wait for eXeem Lite.

But Opera is still adware, unless you buy it. (althought not of that kind who hides in the backround and forced ads outside of the program... )

Besides, well... I have Kazaa lite on my computer. But the network litirally suck so much nowdays. I find the same content on e-mule and through torrents so...

It's adware but that's different - if the only function is to show the banner and do nothing malicious, then it's harmless (unless you despise banners).

I would just wonder if it'll become something that isn't ad-ware made eventually. I mean torrent sites get their cash from people, that's for sure (if you don't believe me, look at lokitorrent.com that's getting sued by the MPAA, allegedly) by any means necessary.

Good news - It's out.

Bad news - It's CyDoor adware which is NOT cool. If you already downloaed eXeem, uninstall it and do a spyware scan to get rid of that POS.

Then download eXeem Lite.

Didn't take long before a Lite version was made.

I'm actually downloading it, I just hope it's worth it.

0.20 Lite isn't out yet, but just close the serial box on 0.18 and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I noticed that.

Looks nice, from what I'm seeing.

Edit: But It's not quite stable, for me.

It searches for torrents and allows you to download them, although I've pretty much struck out every time I've tried to do so. Invalid listen ports and whatnot.
