I have never heard of 'nuance' being used in connection with colors.

  1. A subtle or slight degree of difference, as in meaning, feeling, or tone; a gradation.
  2. Expression or appreciation of subtle shades of meaning, feeling, or tone: a rich artistic performance, full of nuance.

Sounds almost like a reference to colors, but only metaphorically.

Tone, shade, nuance, whatever. They mean the same thing but one english word can mean many things.

We use nuance for colors in sweden.

I can confirm this. Trapster wasn't drunk. (Well, no more than usual.)

And actually I didn't know either that you don't use nuance for colors. When you refer to a 'tone' or 'shade', we use 'nuance' (or, I guess, nyans) consistently.
