The Swastika was carried on a banner into the Ukraine and over 100'000 Ukrainians and 400'000 Ukrainian Jews were killed for Hitler's Libensraum.

It is one of the most evil symbols ever. Even my mockery of Hitler, the man behind it sickens me. The Swastika itself when saying it doesn't mean anything anymore offends anyone who has a linking to fighting against the evil.

The way I feel is kind of mixed.

I do believe a lot of people are too hard on the swastika. People give it way too much power, espically in the wrong areas. It will never be a symbol of hatred in my eyes (Neither will the stiff arm salute). However, Prince Harry didn't just wear a swastika, he wore a custome of a Nazi uniform. Which was uncalled for. Than there is a part of me that just doesn't really care what so ever.

I don't care, he'll still be Chuckles, and will still do wonders for the Australian republican movement.

Ah, the movement to seperate from the Crown. It'll be great on Canada because that small portion of our tax that goes to the Queen and her family will be redirected to Canadian interests. Plus, we'll get rid of the Governor General and the Lieutenent Governer (Pronounced lef-tenent).

Damn straight, we can't sort out our own taxes, let alone anyone elses. It's time we started putting an effective spending plan into place, like France or Germany.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing the Navy and the Army shrink down to size.

Canada needs our military upped up, not in size, but with equipment. The Seaking Kamikazekopter is just hell itself.

What we SHOULD do is stop diverting tax to the old bags in Buckingham.

Yeah, our military budget... well, we don't need a HUGE army but we need to be efficient. Buying old subs from the UK (and then seeing one of them crap out right away and cause death) isn't the way to go.

We need to

A: build ties with the European Union and Signapore for the purchase of assault rifles
B: replace our F-18s with newer and more effective fighters
C: introduce a mid-range Italian carrier as a mover for these new planes
D: design and contract a uniquely Canadian arctic soverignty-protecting sub
E: cancel the purchase of the Sikorsky helicopters and get battle ready personnell/search and rescue copters
F: build a new flagship for the Canadian navy
G: NOT go into the planned US missile defence as it undermines Canadian soverignty
H: accept the US offer of 20 A1 Abrhams tanks
I: purchase the planned Stryker tanks to replace our ageing Zeus Personell carriers
J: purchase the C-130 Hercules and other cargo planes that we've been talking about since the 80s

These are just some that I'd like to have done. Mind you, the average Canadian troop is one of the best trained in the world, they just need to have better equipment and then we'd have an excellent fighting force, no need in the increase in men.

I agree that it was stupid of Harry to do that, but only because people are so overly sensitive. The world really needs to learn that you will, in your life, get pissed and pissed on. You just have to learn to deal with it. The Nazis and Hitler were bad, no doubt in that, but half the people that jump on this sort of thing don't realize that the swastika was originally a Buddhist(I think) symbol for peace, just inverted. Same case with the pentagram and pentacle from Paganism and Satanism.

So yeah, stupid move because the world is overly sensitive, and before anyone tries to pull the "You've never had this happen to your ancestors!" card, a few words for you: Cherokee, Trail of Tears and Irish immigration. I've got both of those in my background. Like I said, pissed and pissed on. You just have to be thankful it wasn't you, accept that it's over and move on.

I'd like to visit some of the camps though. I visited the prison camps they had in the Civil War here in the US in eighth grade, it really made me wonder how people can be that cruel. That was the year I discovered that I don't have the capacity to truely hate. I dislike, but I can't think of a time I genuinely ever hated.

Little known fact, Hitler was kicked out of a Catholic monestary. During the ancient days, in Germany and Nordic countries, the Catholic Church used the Swastika as a symbol of piece. It was Hitler's hatred of the Catholics and the Church that drove him to pervert a once common symbol. It is also a symbol that appears on Thor's hammer in ancient Teutono-Nordic mythology.

I actually heard a REALLY interesting debate arguing the origins of the pentagram. Some people have argued that its first occurance was in ancient Greece and was used as a symbol of secrecy among Pythagorean cult members. From this point, the new Celtic faith, would've (like they seem to love to do) absorb a lot of Greek mythology on first contact and began using the symbol. Which is a really neat story. Others say it is the most ancient symbol of feminism, etc. Unfortunately, there has not been one unearthing of a Goddess age artifact that can back up these claims. Of course, it is generally just agreed on that it is, no matter what, a Pagan symbol.

Well, I don't know what I would do. The USSR killed 8-13 million Ukrainians alone(twice as many people ekilled in the Holocaust), yet people can parade around with hammer and sickle symbols or Stalin's image on their shirts, but not the swastika or Hitler. I don't believe either is correct. Both are wrong, yet people don't treat them the same way.

Oh, and the original swastika(reversed) is not only a Buddhist symbol but used also by Hindus.

I don't know if I believe that.. Cosndering Hitler most likely did not think of Nazism as evil, he wouldn't use a symbol for the purpsoe of perverting it..

Yes, that's freedom of speech. It's one of the greatest things we have in the Western World, and everyone is entitled to it, including the KKK.
It allows you to see footage on TV of your own police force and politicians facing up to crimes the committed, and in some cases committing it. In less forgiving coutries, you would never see anything like this at all.

He used it to spit in the Catholic Churches face. That is why he brutally oppressed all Catholics and waged a genocide campaign on them after Pope Pius made his Papal Bull Mit Brennender Sorge.
