A reviwer on a magazine gave the remake of Donkey kong country a bad review, and also said he gave it a good review becuse of the graphics back then... and well. I never like any of the DKC games, hell DK64 was more fun than any of them. I love Advance wars it's one of my current favorites right now, thought Civ III honestly beats it in terms of turnbased games. Wind waker as good, althought I get so annoyed at the sailing and the treasure hunt. Wind waker is the only Zelda game I have finished, but not got everything on... And oh, Diddy kong racing ruled. Even if it was little kiddy for some people (I still find it funny that Conker appeared in Diddy kong racing... ) Counter-strike, considering it's age is good... althought overated as hell. And the fact that I had classmates that would just select the same levels all the time... well, give me Battlefield 1942 anyday. |

Games I find overrated: F-Zero GX- Yes everyone thinks this game has amazing graphics and speed and is extremely difficult, and yes I love F-Zero more than anyone but I simply didn't feel the F-Zero spirit when I played it. The newer, goofy characters like Deathborn and Digi-Boy aren't a patch on the X-generation like Mighty Gazelle and Beastman, and the track desgins were just... frustrating, and not in the good way. The fact that there is little railing on the tracks means you can fly off easily (which also triggered the hugely unpopular Spaceflying 'debates' you get in the F-Zero community nowadays...I like flying but it is a little extreme to fly a lap in 4 seconds), and they get pretty repetitive. Its not bad but if it kept some of the lessons F-Zero X taught everyone then maybe it could have been better. Metal Gear Solid- Bought it. Played it. Sold it in a week. Its a nice concept but it just drags on and on and on and on. Games I find underrated: F-Zero MV- The third 2D F-Zero game was pretty much ignored because of its unique nature in gameplay and its hard difficulty, but the physics on this game are near perfect and it has been playtested to death, so nothing 'wrong' can be found. It is solid and enjoyable, and is probably the best time trial game ever devised. The hundreds of top 2D players attracted to nintendo's tourneys in 2001 proves it, only Mario Kart has had a stronger cult following of underground top players. Bishi Bashi Special- super fun. |

Maby I just like the game for..Rikku but it is a great game. I didn't really like X because of the way the battles worked (they kept that from FF1 on the NES!), they were slow. The battles is what first drew me to FFX2. Its a really great game. |

Originally posted by Melvin FFVIII - Nice characters, awesome music, best CG cinema's compared to other FF's. FFIX - Great music, freaking amazing art style (even though I didn't care too much for the characters, I'm talking more about the setting and world design, very nicely done) and a very nice battle system that was actually somewhat of a challenge compared to FFVII and FFVIII. So yes. |

Originally posted by Kefka Well... I have never played it on the NES, but I do own it for the GB. I did a quick search, and they're pretty much the same game. I bought this game used (no box, no manual, just the cart) so I had no clue what to expect... but I certaintly wasn't expecting a puzzle game... After a few plays, I began to get into it. It's not exactly my favorite, but I still pick it up and play it occasionally, when I'm bored... |

w00t...there are lots of interesting opinions here, and I'm glad to see that some people mentioned some of the same games and series that I had in mind. Sometimes you feel like you're the only person who didn't care for [insert something here]. Popular games that didn't work out for me Metal Gear Solid - I love the concept and I enjoy watching people play, but I tried the first one and just couldn't get into it. I thought I was going to like the game very much because it focused on sneaking around and exploring, but I couldn't even get past that area way in the beginning with the helipad and all the spotlights. No matter what I did, the soldier prowling found me and killed me. And I was playing on Easy. Maybe someday I should give the second game a shot because they at least give you a stun gun in that one. GTA: Vice City - Again...awesome concept, fun to watch. This one has the bonus of kickass '80s music as well. But...I sucked at it bigtime. I did OK at first but got stuck on that first Lance mission. I liked bumping off random people for money, looking for packages, doing taxi missions, and listening to the funny lines the cops say when chasing you ("Don't make me run...I'll get all sweaty"), but then I just put it down and didn't really feel like picking it back up to work on improving my skills. Kingdom Hearts - I had fun with it for the first few levels, but the nutty camera got on my nerves, as did Donald and Goofy's habit of wasting items. I'm also not into Disney, which didn't help matters either. (As you may guess, Rando was the one who wanted to get this.) Not so popular games I like Final Fantasy X-2 - I really got addicted to this one. I like the characters and pretty much everything about the gameplay, especially the mission-based design and your freedom to explore. Oddly enough, I haven't actually finished it, but I have logged about umpteen hours of play. The Addams Family (SNES) - At a glance, it seems like a boring platformer...but damn it, this game RULES. It has an absolutely humongous, detailed, and varied map with a metric assload of secrets. The game engine encourages goofing around and experimentation in order to find said secrets. (Nothing in the game - including pits and lava - will instantly kill you, mid-level "continue points" are generally frequent, and it's easy to amass a full supply of 1-Ups. Thus, you can happily get lost in the house for hours without worrying about having to start all over.) It also happens to be based on one of my favorite movies ever, so I am rather biased in that regard. This game got decent to good reviews, but most people haven't heard of it. I was very happy when I mentioned it on here a while back and somebody (Hiryuu, perhaps?) agreed that it was as fun as I said it was. Deadly Towers - No, really. I'm not joking. I wouldn't say it's a GREAT game, but I don't think it deserves the title of Worst. Game. Ever. that many people bestow upon it. Sure, it's psychotically difficult and has a crapload of crazy wraparound dungeons to get lost in, but the basic gameplay mechanics seem OK, the game evolves as you progress (changing which monsters appear and which items the shops sell - this was a big deal for 1986) and, though simplistic, the music is gorgeous. I have fond memories of renting this one and wandering around the aforementioned crazy dungeons for ages, being hypnotized by the medieval-flavored music that changes from room to room. I never beat it (even with the EF/FE password cheat that gives you the best armor and weaponry with virtually zero effort on your part), but I had fun just messing around being Supar w00t Practically Invincible Prince Myer. |

Yoshi was never a popular game and I didn't like the gameplay. Now, Yoshi's Cookie is a different story and I'd probably add it to my "not-so-popular games I like" list. |

Now if A52 was homebrewn, I would be forgetful. Althought most of thoose games are worser than Click and Play games. But they insist on how actionpacked thoose games, even if you can get far on some of thoose games by just going forwards and keep shooting. And there is ET for Atari. Sure Colour a dinosaur most be the worst licensed Nintendo game, Give me Mario paint please. Consider the fact that people didn't have PC's back when Mario paint was out so... |
