Get Yoshi's Island.

Also, Wario Ware for the GBA is the exact same game as it is for GC. They seriously have the exact same selection of minigames

If you played Yoshi's Island, SMB3, and Wario Ware for the GCN, I would get a completely new game. The 2 platform games are pretty much the same. The only reason why I purchased Yoshi's Island was for nostalgic reasons. I sort of regret getting it, but its an excellent game nevertheless.

I heard they made some parts of SMB3 easier.

Get Yoshi's Island. Same game, but six hidden levels are different I think. Not "easier" or "harder", actual new levels. Or so I hear, I never got that far on the SNES, I only beat the main levels. I figure that by now, most SNESes are having trouble with saving, or just not working like mine... And if they made my second-favorite NES game (sorry, but FF3 always wins there) any easier, I will be mad, and you should be too. Yeah, that's right, even if it isn't your favorite game you should be mad for them screwing it up.

Touch choice honestly, both are awesome games.

But yeah, like Cheveyo mentioned I've heard they've made some changes to Super Mario Bros 3 for the GBA, so I'd say go with Yoshi's Island.

But it kind of depends, I mean which of these games have you played or not played? Or have you played them all? Etc.

Either way, and even including Wario Ware I'd say you really can't go wrong with any of these.

I get the impression from the other thread that Elmo hasn't played Yoshi's Island or SMB3. I suggest Yoshi's Island... no good reason, I just like it more. I plan to get it myself when I have money. (I lost my original SNES cart, since I was in the habit of losing things as a kid, and the used one I bought from the pawn shop is strangely broken.)

Well then go with Yoshi's Island if you're looking for a more in depth game.

There's secrets and things to collect in every level, and I always thought throwing eggs was fun.

And unlike Super Mario Bros 3, you can go back to levels you've already beaten. (My only complaint about SMB3)

Since I have the NES originals I've never felt the need to buy the remakes... How is it easier (Aside from the cape)?

Hey, the remakes / upgraded versions for Super Mario All Stars were pretty dandy, but yeah the originals just give you "that" feeling.

And there's a cape in SMB3 now?

SMA4MB3 has e-reader support which lets you scan cards to get levels/items/stuff. One item you can get is the cape from SMW. This is all I know about it, though.

Of course you can get the cape that is on smw lol. From E cards. I used it, it seemed quite fun but didn't seem flexible to play Mario as it did on Smw though.

What in the ... wow?

I honestly cannot see myself using a Cape in SMB3. The physics are very different from SMB3 to SMW. (SMW being much more fluid)

Yeah I've heard about the E-Reader card thing. Do you unlock normal leves, or are they completely new? (if you know )

Several fire spitting plants have been turned into regular ones. You can notice it on the very first level, and even in the last world. Like, level 1 (at least that's what it is labeled on the map) in world 8 used to be a wee bit hard at the start with small Mario because of the 3 spitting fire plants. But now, there is only one.
