I was hoping you all could help me I've tried countless programs to start an FTP server I have a linksys router and my ISP is sbc yahoo if that helps. I can connect to myself but no one can connect to me any help is welcomed or anyone know of any sites with unlimited filesize and 150 megs space? thanks |

if you're behind a linksys router, you'll need to find out about port forwarding. by default, the router blocks people trying to connect to you, so you'll have to say that there are certain ports that they can connect to. basically, for an FTP server, i'd say you'll have to configure the router to forward ports 20 and 21 to your LAN IP. if you don't know what i'm talking about at all, try a little Google on port forwarding with a linksys router. |
