FireFox freezes when I try to download plug-ins, any advice to get past the problem? (It really freezes up while searching for plug-ins) |

What plugin search does it freeze up in? The one through the Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Check Now button, or searching for plugins through the Firefox site? If it's the latter, the quickest thing I can think of to remedy the problem would be to download the plugins with a different browser (should be a .xpi file), save it to your hard drive, and open it with Firefox. In my experiences, that'll install it fine, then you just have to restart the browser after. On the other hand, if it freezes while doing it's own built in plugin search, I'd advise you to uninstall the copy of Firefox you have right now, download a fresh install, and go from there. I'm aware that would most likely make you lose all the settings you'd made (unless there was an option not to uninstall them), so do that at your own risk. Aside from that, I wouldn't know exactly why it's doing that. It's never happened to me |

Happened to me. I just forced FireFox to close (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) and then tried again after I restarted it. Worked for me.

No, it isn't like that. If I go to a site with interactive picture things, like Ragnarok Online, it says I am missing a plug in. So I search for the plug in and it freezes in the window, saying it is trying to find them. Also, how do I get IRC to work? (edited by Dracoon on 12-26-04 11:22 AM) |

Dunno about IRC, but you probably need the Shockwave plugin for the other thing.
