This game intrigues me. I would go and find as much information as possible about it, but me and the internet have had a falling-out lately and I refuse to use his search functions until he stops making me sleep on the couch. Um. Here are some screenshots, though. I read somewhere that the game is entirely controlled using the touch screen, with which you draw clouds, circle enemies to destroy them (throwing eggs I guess), and tap to jump. Presumably, then, Yoshi walks on his own. Still sounds very interesting. Knowing Nintendo it will kick ass, although I am worried it might be too short and/or gimmicky. Anyone who has more information is welcome to share it. =D

OMG KIDDY GAME, DIE DIE DIE! (heh, i'm just kidding)

I'm a sucker for Yoshi games, and hell. I'm very glad that they finally gave up the Yoshi story style and finally reuses the awesome Yoshi island one. I'm so happy.

And notice it's 2D, people would think 2D games would die with DS. Pfft.

It's a platformer, thought it's gonna be tricky to control with the touch screen. Especially if Yoshi would walk on his own, if Zem guessed right.

Hey! I made a cool game! It's called "I poisoned half the food, so if you eat you might die!" Have a taco.

Just because they're 2D doesn't mean they're bad games either. Just look at SSBM (okay, it isn't entirly 2D).

It plays out at 2D but uses 3D models. I would classify this as 2D. However, we are not talking about anything even resembling 3D - Yoshi's Touch & Go is obviously 2D

Just like Contra: Shattered Soldier, which would be a very worthy sort of game to put on the DS.

Anti-3D people probably.

...oddly enough, I see more 2D games popping up nowdays even for the consoles than before. Heh. >.>

The game looks more smooth and all, but that's becuse of the DS supporting more colours on the sprites.

Kitten Yiffer: Mainly for the handhelds at the moment.

Every year you see the odd batch of 2D games come out, and some are excellent (like Viewtiful Joe 1+2) but companies tend to focus on shiny graphics and that these days, which you apparently can't get in 2D.

2D fighting games are still rocking the world. New Guilty Gears are grand.

Well, in the issue of NP I have the screenshots of the game are very great and detailed for a 2D game. The funny thing is that the person who talked about it said it isn't a kiddie game as you have to constantly keep moving and drawing stuff.

Plus, with it being 2D, they could make more levels than a standard 2D game... I think/hope.

I like Yoshi. Besides Kirby (nobody, and I mean NOBODY can be better than him) Yoshi is IMO the best video game character ever. Putting him in another game is great. Sure he is in SM64DS, but not as the main character.

I can't wait till this game is released so I could get this. Then all I really have to wait for is Animal Crossing...

1. Dunno, that sounds kiddie to me. I don't care, but it sounds kiddie.

2. Boo is way better than Kirby. Boos are cool, it's a fact of life :x

This game looks great. I guess its sort of like Yoshi's Safari meets Yoshi's Island, since a major aspect of the game is gunning down enemies, but with eggs, and baby Mario is in there. You bet I'll buy this!

A neat idea, but I'm starting to worry that every game is going to require the stylus somehow. It's a nice concept but you don't have to use it! I enjoy just sitting back and playing it without having to hold it in a funny position to scribble all over the screen.

Meh, I don't believe Mario Kart DS uses the stylus. I recall hearing the only thing you need the touchpad for is one control scheme (where you push your thumb in a circle on the control stick to affect it like a steering wheel.)
