| Spyware Adware has invaded my computer thanks to someone in my family... (this is also the third time I've tried to post this and it has failed each time so if all three of these appear don't hurt me.) I am seeing links on this forum now and it is really bad... Anything I can do besides spybot? |

| Additionally, you might want to run a virus scan to check if you didn't miss anything. I'd also wonder how well your firewall runs, if you even have one. Full systems check would be great...it's something you should do often. HouseCall by TrendMicro if you don't have an up-to-date scanner. You can do an online scan with this. |

Well, I can help you by giving you links to the stuff I use to protect my computer, to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future (hopefully)  Note that while I've had this, the only spyware that's been detected is cookies from various sites (Giant AS goes nuts with those  ), and some eMule thing that's most likely on there because I have Shareaza installed.Ad-Aware SE Personal Giant AntiSpyware SpywareBlaster There's no reason you have to install all of those on your computer. I just have them all on there to be as safe as possible  Have you tried telling whoever it is in your family that caused this problem what exactly they're doing, and to stop it? I don't see why they wouldn't agree with you, unless they barely know anything about computers  |

| Nothing anyone could have done to stop it... I cleaned my computer, took a while and a lot of manual things, and I found out the problem... I had that virus that bring in spyware and adware. I finished cleaning it though, but thanks for the links, virus scanner helped a little bit as I found another virus, and Ad-Aware Spybot S&D are the best! | |||

| KH:CoM sucks. Squeenix is too obsessed with cards, ever since Triple Triad did so well. Anyway, back on topic: I recently had a similar problem. I had a virus that was putting spyware crap stuff on my PC, and I couldn't kill it, even with McAffee. I got the name of the virus from the Virus Scan, but the McAffee website said the virus didn't exist. I ended up reformatting, and moving from XP Home to XP Corporate. So far, so good... |
