Yay, I guess that I know what I will buy after Christmas.

This is way better than a Nintendo DS.

Sadly, I don't think that would work. Some people need an intensive 6-month course in the subject.

Then need to include a dictator that will strap you down to a chair and force you to read it.

That intensive enough?

You'd be surprised how many Grade 10-11 students don't know grammar from a hole in the head.

(At least they've started sneaking it into the curriculum at my old high school, but some people... eeeech. And we're talking the IB program here. For the smart kids. )

That makes no sense. Why would you teach the smart kids grammar? They're the ones most likely to pick it up on their own. That's like teaching dyslexic people how not to read.

You're making my head hurt. It's possible to teach smart kids grammar, but how is it possible to teach dyslexics to NOT READ? Have you ever tried to just listen to people speaking your own language and actively tried to not understand it? I have, and it's damn hard. btw dyslexia is a broad term and most of them can read, just with some abnormality or it takes them longer.

Because they need it?

There's not enough grammar taught in schools these days. That might explain some stuff on the net.

I'm just saying they're both pretty pointless. Proper grammar was just something I learned at some point, I was never "taught" it. Additionally, I know dyslexia is a broad term; I'm dyslexic. I used it as an example because it's an example that you all certainly understand; there's no need to point out every flaw in an analogy, you know.

I blame society! Society made me what I am... (You guess the movie.)

And in actuality, whenever people I know make bad analogies they get told so. Including me. I'm not trying to be an ass about it. And it actually did make my head hurt, I swear.

We are taught grammer in like... 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and if you are not in advanced the rest of your life. Why people don't use it, they're lazy.
