Phooey, after seeing that the Flyers crushed Toronto 7-2 today, I am getting really burned up with Philly's ability to really own the Leafs.

After seeing Philly win in 7 games last year, I REALLY hope the Leafs get their revenge on the team.

As a Canadian, seeing Toronto and Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conf. Finals would be amazing, as it would pit my favourite Canadian team against a team with a guy who happens to be the older brother of a girl who I know in RL, namely Brad Richards, who lives in the same province as I.

I also hope to see Calgary make it to the West finals, as well as the Sharks. Hard work for a team in the regular season deserves to pay off IMO.

To all regular hockey fans, has there been anything different about this season?

Because for one reason or another, I'm watching more and more hockey, and not minding in the least bit.

Heck, I might even buy the latest NHL game for XBOX.

Yes. Much different. Calgary up 3-2 on the Wings, lending them their 1st ever playoff shutout AGAINST in about as long as I can remember, Philly racking up Toronto 7-2 with the likes of Belfour with KIDD playing actually playing a solid game, just freakin' radical. With Stevie Y out of the question, I sense the Dead Things getting knocked out tomorrow and the "NA NA NA NA NA NA, HEY HEY HEY HEY... GOODBYE!" chants to be filling up the 'Dome. Then, Hull, Thomas, and possibly Yzerman call it careers.

A San Jose-Calgary WCF would be great. Ratings galore there. And I sense Tampa beating out Philly in the East, because that's what it's going to boil down to by the looks of things, although I wanted the Leafs to make it.

Um, I meant on a more basic level, seeing as, I had almost no knowledge of any other team besides Boston coming into this season.

But, that works too I guess

Toronto DOWN.

Detroit is dead in the water - you'd have to think they can rally behind Yzerman's absence, but Calgary has all the confidence in the world right now.

And I think that Colorado's comeback attempt ends in Game 6 - SJ is probably smart enough to try neutralize Sakic next game.

For my beloved Los Tiburones, they better

anyways,
Toronto on the brink of elimination...i feel it is going to happen
Detroit is on the brink of elimination...i think they will advance

Tampa Bay has advanced...and looks like will make it to the finals unless the next team the face has all-stars on every line...

...You mean unless Tampa plays Philly?

I would likely take Tampa in 6 in that scenario, BTW.

Detroit could come back but they look TERRIBLE so far tonight.

Toronto DOWN AND OUT. ^_______^

...Oh, and Colorado too.

This sets up TB vs. Philly and SJ vs. Calgary in the semi-finals... VERY interesting lineup. For the first time in a while, the winners won't be New Jersey, Detroit or Colorado.

I knew Philly and Tampa were gonna make it, but the other two was a surprise. Well either Tampa is well rested or too rested, we will se. The Flames vs. The Sharks will a be a good series. I sure hope the Flames pull through.

Arrgh!

After seeing my hopes of Ed Belfour and the Maple Leafs get spoiled by the Flyers, I must say I am very disappointed in this result.

No matter, I am still glad Calgary is going on to the conf. finals.

However, in that series with the Sharks, there is such a thing as surprises in my life, and even though I am not from the U.S., it would be a surprise for the Sharks to advance further.

With Toronto gone, I gotta go for the Bolts in the East.

Brad Richards definitely rules in my book.

so, you are saying going from 14th in 02-03 to 2nd in 03-04, winning a division title, and setting franchise record for points in a season, was all a fluke?

But anyways, the sharks will have an easy time with calgary I believe. Sure, the sharks are playing their former coach but they are a completely different team from the time Sutter was forcibly let go. but I guess we'll see...

TB and PHI...i say TB in 6...

Go Tampa!

Only because they hold one of the only other players besides the Bruin's roster that I know (St. Louis)

HAHAHA, Detroit's gone. I knew it all along. Told you they sucked. They are nothing BUT typical Russian chokers and showboaters, sticking their noses in some fat paycheck. I hate the Red Wings, who are better known as the Dead Wings now (because they are technically "dead" so-to-speak as of now).

I told you that both teams had strong forwards, but neither Colorado nor Detroit had strong enough goaltenders to reach such strong heights in the playoffs, and I was right. While it wasn't Aebischer's fault for their Game 6 meltdown, their defense takes much of the blame for their collapsing. Aebischer is a great young goalie, but he is inexperienced and they need to give him some help in his own zone. We've seen more or less the same defense from them in the playoffs as we have all season long, so everyone counted on Abby to turn down 36 of 37 shots a game even in the playoffs. Good luck doing that.

Tampa winning the Cup would be phenominal. People often crtisized the Southeast division as being the Southleast division. All all-underdog Cup Final would be an even better scenario. No matter who goes on a lucky run, it's always the same powerhouse teams winning the Cup. However, with both Roy and Hasek out of the question, and Brodeur unable to carry the Devils a 2nd straight time, the road looks to just have been paved for the remaining teams. Because that goaltending trio without a doubt HAS been the defining factor over the years.

i second the fact Cujo is better than Aebischer.

detriot is a good team...it is no joke they have been a contender every single year. however, when they needed to perform they didn't and as a result, lost to calgary.

anyways, playoffs begin tomorrow...i hope the lightning strike first

Good to have Philly become a contender again, but I don't really see them getting past Tampa. To see them win in a Best-of-7 with Tampa Bay is to see them win the Cup this year--highly doubtful.

Still, Esche>Cechmanek, for sure.

Anyone listened to the third match of Calgary vs San Jose? RED EVERYWHERE! And Tampa will get the cup (Well, I hope so).
