Repost info about it here. Since the old thread disappeared and all... Blah, play with the offical stuff. And a question, how hard must you touch the touchscreen? And is it possible to change settings after the intial setup? (such as your Nickname, very important ) |

You know, I was against this thing but I was just reading EGM a few moments ago and I noticed that there's going to be an Animal Crossing title. So that pretty much settles it for me. I must have it. |

What happened to the old thread? Do they get deleted after a certain amount of time being there, or after they reach a set number of pages or something? Anyhow, about the DS. I've decided now that I'm saving up for it. All my money that I get's going toward it Like Legion, I must have it. I noticed on Nintendo's site, they've got a bundle package where if you buy a DS, you get Metroid Hunters with it. I looked on walmart.com, and they didn't have it there I'm guessing it's not out yet though, but if it isn't, it'd be odd for Nintendo to already be offering it. I don't think you'd have to touch the touchscreen really hard. Probably the same pressure you'd use when writing with a pencil or pen It might be possible to change your nickname after, and I don't see any reason for them not to have included that function. Dude, I just got Animal Crossing. I must admit, it's very kiddy... yet so awesome. It's a must get. Oddly, some people hate that game, other doesn't. If you have brothers/sisters, then it's the perfect game. I have some money I could waste on the Nintendo DS, I know thoose money are for my living when i'm at a university or something but a small withdrawal couldn't hurt. (I get more money in than out currently ) |

But y'know Kitten Yiffer, that could change pretty fast if you keep thinking that way. "Oh it's okay, I have lots of money so I can afford to spend it" is exactly the attitude that kills your wallet.

I just sampled the thing today. I just messed around with Pictochat for a sec, but it still seems kinda neat if enough people have the thing. For 150 bucks, however, I believe I'll pass... |

It is an interesting gadget. I played with one for a little while and I tried Super Mario 64 DS. They're will probably be a "DS" version of every game now; just like they made an "Advance" version of every game with the GameBoy Advance. Anyway, I'll probably buy one sometime in the future. However, I'll wait just in case they release a better version in a few months.

That seems unlikely, Jack-Al. This one already has an optional backlight and a built-in battery pack. And it has a headphone jack. So what are they gonna do? Remove the battery pack and power it with conventional batteries?

Originally posted by Karadur Since when did Sony themselves make games? All I see are mainly other companys making games for them. The DS is an awesome system. People complain about the price, but think about what this thing can do. It not only plays DS games, but it playes GBA games, too. So you are pretty much paying for an SP and a DS for 150 dollars. Not such a bad price in the long run. To answer Kitten Yiffer's questions: 1. You don't have to touch it too hard. Just a simple tap will do it. 2. You can change all the settings after the initial setup by pressing the middle button at the main menu of the DS (the menu where you choose Pictochat, DS Download, or a game). Oh, and Animal Crossing is a great game. But just a warning: don't let anyone else play it. If you do, you will probably not be able to play it for quite some time... and your town will be changed the next time you play... *blames sister for making people move out of my town and having grumpy people move into mine...* |

Interesting fact: The Game Boy Advance sold 1.6 times as many units as the DS the first week the DS was out.

RE: what a new edition could do... the current one is fairly awkward to hold. They could fix that. =p I have no thoughts on this system. I plan to wait until I'm certain it kicks ass before buying one. |

Ok! I'll buy the DS when it comes out in Europe. I might import it then from the US, seeing the currency exchange. As for another reason to buy a DS. Namco announced yesterday that they will be releasing a Xenosaga DS and a Baten Kaitos DS... |
