Nothing official this time but they are padded: 08/28 Riveria - Heavy 9 :: AA SCORE 84770106 // COMBO 339 * * * * * Perfect 381 Great 33 Good 3 Boo 0 Miss 1 OK 2 Comments: Nothing too special here...but one funny thing to warm up on when I haven't DDR'd for over 2 weeks. First time AAing, second time trying. The legend of SAKURA - Standard 8 :: AA SCORE 74857368 // COMBO 337 * * * * * Perfect 304 Great 23 Good 1 Boo 1 Miss 1 OK 9 Comments: So close to a FC. This one had me on the end because of the offset version of the slowdown at the very end. On Heavy it is NOT offset; I forgot that. Look to the Sky (Ext. Mix) - Heavy 7 :: AA LONG SCORE 136483628 // COMBO 500 * * * * * Perfect 433 Great 19 Good 0 Boo 0 Miss 0 OK 28 Comments: Not a bad run for a first try, a prelude to the destruction later. Could've been done better for a simfile on Heavy though. I spent a lot of time looking left than I did right. Solid 7, though. P8107 - Challenge 9 :: B SCORE 74864620 // COMBO 155 * * * * * Perfect 467 Great 66 Good 21 Boo 11 Miss 12 OK 0 Comments: This....kicked my ass. As far as I know, the majority of the twists is what cut out my stamina. I can't really turn for shit and this had plenty to go around. Surprised myself, though, especially with the amount of stamina you need to haul for some of the runs and some of the jackhammers in it. The very end I was gone though, and it being an offbeat slow just made it that much worse for me. If I had to do it again, I could A it. SHINJITSU NO UTA - Challenge 9 :: AA LONG SCORE 170049031 // COMBO 319 * * * * * Perfect 590 Great 69 Good 2 Boo 0 Miss 1 OK 4 Comments: Difficult PA. The majority of it is galloping at a very slow speed. Well-deserving of a borderline 9 but it's not really that hard. I was surprised of how it really turned out for a sim. It choreographed well I think...but I just couldn't have this as a finale. I had to push my luck... MOU NAKANAIDE - Heavy 9 :: A LONG SCORE 167423725 // COMBO 156 * * * * * Perfect 723 Great 86 Good 5 Boo 3 Miss 6 OK 14 Comments: I did this directly after Shinjitsu as a stamina test. I'm still wondrous on how I didn't barf up a lung taking this on. I was burping non-stop at least afterwards; I was so sick. I should've stopped halfway in, but I didn't, I just rode it through to the end. Monster jam at 160BPM for about three and a half minutes. Well-fitting to be a 9, though shorter than Shinjitsu, it kicked my ass. So there you have it. By the by, if I don't have a sim up by tomorrow, it might just be postponed a week. I've had some school issues. EDIT (multiple times) - Goddamn thing. (edited by Prier on 08-28-05 06:38 AM) (edited by Prier on 08-28-05 06:38 AM) (edited by Prier on 08-28-05 06:39 AM) |

Yeah, my P8107 on Challenge is pretty killer. Some of the twists leave you in odd positions, much like a Paranoia stepfile. I never have gotten the end slowdown though. But really, for being over 600 steps, not a Long song and under 200 BPM, it's pretty damn stamina draining.

How nice to get back on here after the weekend, only to find out that my gender's been changed to female I read the announcement, and changed it back, so that's no longer a problem. Given that my weekend was mainly comprised of playing StepMania and Geneforge 3 (more of the latter, actually), I've got a few more screenshots to show than normal (6, to be precise) and here they are: :: Don't Mind Lay-Lay (China) Boy, Heavy :: Final Fantasy VIII - The Extreme, Challenge :: Look to the Sky, Challenge :: Tamayura, Heavy :: Votum Stellarium, Heavy :: DDR Extreme Nonstop Megamix, Heavy I'm especially pleased with the last one, seeing as I managed to get through without having to turn AutoPlay on at all. The assist tick was still used in the song that has the background of the guy with a big afro (I can't remember the actual name of it), and the song at the very end, just to get an idea of how that part "sounded" for future attempts at the song Now, I hate to have to ask this question, seeing as I've got the feeling it's been covered, and I haven't seen the answer, but is the top picture in Prier's most recent post supposed to link to a song, or not? It just appears to be a picture for me, so unless those two songs are combined into one, I can only guess that a link hasn't been added yet, or won't be I realize school and such could be affecting that, but I thought I'd just ask anyways. |

Top is the banner for DOD 5th mix. Checking Protoboard's DDR section you'll notice that there's a sticky about DOD info on the top. Each of the banners can be used to organize where each go based on that thread which can be placed in the folder where each is displayed in SM. For example, DDR MAX's banner is shown off by that PNG in the directory in DDR MAX's folder. This works the same way. (edited by Prier on 08-29-05 01:13 PM) |

I see. The third sentence of your post is quite confusing, but I think I understand it. Each picture in that sticky can be placed in it's respective folder (something like StepMania/Songs/1, without actually putting the picture in a song folder), then it'll appear when you select that "category" in StepMania. At least that's how I understand it Now, I've looked through the list of songs in that sticky, and in the first section, there's one called "Bike Chase" that I don't think I have yet. It could be NANACA†CRASH!!, but given that that song's down in the 3rd Mix Plus section, I guess not. Is there any chance that you could upload it here, or to Bemanistyle when it's back up? The link in the thread on the second page is dead, and that's the only other place I can think of to get it. I'm not trying to nag you about it or anything, but it'd be nice to get a complete set of the songs |

Bike Chase is unreleased. I think only I and MAYBE DD has it. It was unreleased for a good reason...it was just a test file more or less, i.e. thing ranges from 110-666BPM.

Now, as for scores, none to show today, seeing as I got stuck in the downstairs room of my friend's house last night watching him play some Splinter Cell game for ~7 hours I got a bit of a chance to play it (StepMania) this morning though, and managed to get an "B" on Murmur Twins (I believe that's what it's called), and an "A" on Holic, both by Toph. I also gave 20000000000 (there may be a few extra zeros there) a try upon getting home, which I found to be quite difficult, before noticing it was on 3.0 / 3.x (my mind's just gone blank as to which it is, but it's the modifier that makes the arrows appear farther apart or closer together). That would be due to my brother not turning off those options before closing the program. I don't see why he uses them anyway, seeing as he only plays the game to listen to and mess with the music speed I can't remember why now, but I never bothered to play through the whole thing, but I'll try to tonight, and hopefully have a decent score to show tomorrow |

Challenge on 20 bill will likely kick you around. Heavy really isn't that bad. It's pretty much a cut and dry offbeat 9.

It definitely did, and as I result of that, I now realize why I never was able to finish it and get a screenshot of my score as a result. Both last night and the night before, I tried the song on challenge, and failed the song about one third of the way through. As a result of that, I closed StepMania because I was either frustrated with it, or didn't want to play any more songs, which kept me from trying it on Heavy or lower Tonight I'll try Heavy, and make sure I have a screenshot of my result for tomorrow I still have some screens to show today, so here they are: :: Holic, Heavy :: The Legend of MAX, Heavy :: Samurai Zero, Heavy :: MaxX Unlimited, Heavy :: Manhattan Sports Club, Heavy I realize the last result isn't that great, but I'm more pleased with the fact that I can finally make it through the song, than getting a good score at this point. Also, just in case it makes a difference, all those songs were in the "Keyboard Mega Pack" group. Some of them, like "M" (I think that one letter is the name, but in case it's not, I do know it starts with an M ) are quite difficult right now, but I suppose some of those songs were more meant for people that use both hands to play In all though, I'm happy with those results Originally posted by Valcion Thanks I don't know where the "i" came from when I typed the title, but it looked right It's a pity I already have exactly 80 minutes of songs from StepMania for a CD, as I'd put that one on as well, but I suppose I'll have to see about working up another list of songs with that one included. I want to put the nonstop megamix on a CD with some other songs, so it should work well |

Karadur: Do you by chance play SMO at all? With the amount of hours you're cranking out doing this, you'd probably get more want to play solo/multi with the software than just with the standard SM.

I'm making a wild guess here, but does SMO stand for StepMania Online? If it does, then no, I don't. That's due to not having an internet connection at home, and not wanting to go through the complication of getting it set up here. However, if that's not what it stands for, I still haven't played it, as this'll be my first time hearing about it

Took a look at the Keyboard Megapack that you and others mentioned and... ...quite honestly, I'm not impressed. Some of these files are just HORRIBLY crafted for starters and the ones that aren't for the majority aren't very keyboard friendly period. Even if I indexed most of these it wouldn't do me justice regardless. A very good example would be Skor's K8107. Cmon...jackhammer 16th notes at 180 BPM? orele? In pairs of sixes over and over again? Give me a break. I grabbed some of the decent ones though from the pack, there are some that are quite good and as such I'm posting the scores that I have from them. I can't really say they're good, but they're a start. Csikos Post - 11-footer (not too bad but...eh...) M - 10-footer (my ass) One Winged Angel - 12-footer (my ass, and is it just me or do my steps feel stolen?) Votum Stellarum - 11-footer (not a bad song but not that great on steps, more like a 10) Star Field - 11-footer (fun song, period) SMB Dirty Mix - 10-footer (horribly done file though) Abstract - 11-footer (meh) DXY! - 10-footer (very good one too) G2 - 11-footer (did this before in BMR's actual pack with vid) sync - 10-footer (not too great, but not bad) Leading Cyber - 11-footer (general 'wtf?' at this one) LAB - 11-footer (not bad) Guillaume Tell - 11-footer (HOLY SHIT that was fun) The only one I will note for honorable mention is Prophetess which is a 12-footer by Mwerp. Very tough song but it's well done and well deserving of the amount of plays that I've seen by it. I didn't pass that. (edited by Prier on 09-01-05 06:16 AM) |

Right now I'm just wondering what kind of mods does everyone play? also whats the fastest/slowest everyone can go? (On a Keyboard of course) I max out at around C800, I can pass songs 8 steppers and below but with poor scrores. I feel most comfortable playing at C600 and 2x. I have serious trouble playing without any mods which im working on now. |
