I'd just like to know why it's so goddamn hard to make an appliance of some sort with a timer that ACTUALLY KEEPS TIME. I am so sick of setting my TV or stereo to turn on at a certain time only to have it happen half an hour later than it should. (Just lucky today's Inuyasha was a re-run, or I'd be throwing that stupid TV out the window. Come to think of it, I think I have that one on DVD. ) We can make alarm clocks that work, why not just stick them in the damn things?

Well, considering everywhere on this planet there's a problem with time only being relative to begin with. There's your big problem.

With keeping the time in general and setting a clock [shrugs] it's not that hard, but I continuously get people on my case to fix their clock.

Course then with some VCRs that run on cable, they go to the nearest public station and get the time from there and update your VCR for you, so that takes care of one thing out of plenty.

Mine does that. and I'm grateful of it. Otherwise, I'd have to put the correct often, whenever I disconnect it (around one time a day)

My watch periodically goes forward an hour. It's not really fast, it just jumps forward. Gah I threw it away and got a new one.

If you have a cell-phone you can set the alarm to go off when InuYasha is on tv.

Cell phones == expensive.
My VCR can do that but you need to use one of them stupid cable boxes, so there's not much point to it.

Sometime I should try to build a VCR into something that can be computer-controlled, so it'd be like having a big external VHS drive. Then get a DVD player, TV tuner, and tape drive, and I'll be able to play just about any media on the computer. Muahaha.

For now I should set up some kinda alarm. Problem is my alarm clock is already set for another show, my watch (which I don't even wear because the crappy cheap band broke) is set for Inuyasha on Fridays (different time, and new episodes), my TV's clock apparently doesn't work, and my stereo's SUCKS - not only does it lose time both forward and backward, but occasionally it decides to just ignore it altogether. And when it does turn on, the volume level is completely randomized and sometimes it starts up in a different mode (like trying to play a tape instead of a CD). Entirely useless. I'm running out of alarms! (My mom wakes me up, and if that doesn't work the cat finishes the job. )

A cheap yet functional alarm clock doesn't cost too much. You may consider investing in one.

It's just you DarkSlaya. Cats are really nice and will never wake you up at a time you don't want to be awakened.

I hate cats. They stare at me endlessly.

An d stuff like alarm clocks wouldn't help-- the whole point of timed recording is to be away when it needs to be recording

I don't feel freaked out when they do that, and well. Cats are like humans, so they are diffrent cat to cat. Some of them are nice and others would claw you if they got the chanche...

Who's recording?

My cat just HATES being picked up, and absolutely will not sleep anywhere other than the random spot she chooses and occasionally changes.

Solution: Keep track of time with your brain.
Cats: 6 of them. They do nothing. They only attack my mom.

I don't like cats. Dogs are even worse.

And is ours the only cat in the world that chews on plastic?

No. No it is not. Many cats claw plastic, and some of them will chew it, yes.

I chew plastic, too
