| Something in Kirby's mind clicked. Maybe his little failed potion was for the best. He had to quickly grow up when he moved to earth, which didn't let him see how life would be if he had a normal one. He loved his nromal life, but this was just another experience. Kirby: *hops onto the boat and salutes* Swabbie Kirby, reporting for duty, sir! ------------- Nakase's head shot a look over in the direction of the pirate talk. It was the name again. She tried to focus her eyes on who might've said the name, but all she saw was the idiot. "Him?", she thought. "No.. It might be someone else with the same name." | Luke was getting very tired of waiting and being patient by now, and even though part of his nature was to be both, when he saw the first open boat he literally jumped into it. He landed gracefully and the boat barely moved. He looked at Nakase knowing she would follow. He had already began to think that she was faking her way into the school, so when she got into the boat he whispered and hoped no one would notice. "Are you supposed to be here? I have a gut feeling that you weren't invited to this school." Luke looked around as another person got into the boat and finally a forth was boarding. |

| Nakase brushed her hair and looked off to the side. She was partially thankful for the stranger's appearance. However, there's no doubt he's going to ask again. What is she going to say? Hopefully she can find the one who put her in this position. She keeps looking off to the side. Maybe it was best if she had gotten on another boat... "Yarr! Cap'n! Leuitenant Twister! Man the oars and get us ahead of the pack! God Speed! Twister: ... what oars? Teddylot reached into his pocket and pulled out a worn out oar and an old prosthetic leg. Teddylot: Get to work, swabbie! Twister: I hope you didn't steal this from som-- Teddylot: --Of course I did. Now, stroke ... stroke ... stroke ... Teddylot once again stuffed his hand into his pocket, this time to pull out a telescope. Teddylot: Swabbie Kirby! | Kirby: Aye aye, Cap'n! Kirby grabbed the telescope and began scouting the area. He turns around and notices that they're already halfway through the lake. Kirby: Cap'n! There seems to be a large buildup of mist coming around. The ship has sailed too far from shore, so there's no turning back. *pokes Coo* Hey.. Say "caw" or something. We gotta pretend we're on a crow's nest! Coo: Ugh... The spikey headed boy pressed his right eye into the telescope again and looked around again. Kirby: Cap'n! I see a girl with a very large robe on! Queens are supposed to wear clothes several sizes too big, right? ------------------------- Nakase had the urge to sneeze, but she fought against it. "Um... | Teddylot: Stroke ... stroke ... stroke ... Teddylot's ship streamed through the green lake water passing by the giant's boat and taking the lead. The boat had now been equiped with an old fashioned cannon, a sail, a poopdeck, and a ping pong table. Twister was still the boat's throttle, and Zap had placed several maps and instruments on the ping pong table and was studying them intently. Teddylot: Avast, scurvies! It appears to my eye that we're almost to the castle's shores. To celebrate our victory over the other ships, we're having martinis, virgin of course. But before the teddy was able to break out the mixers, a large ripple broke the smooth wake of the boat and sent the passengers struggling for balance. Teddylot: Jenkins ... ZAP! Status report! The boy fumbled back to the ping pong table and took a look at a few of his charts. Zap: There's something out there. Teddylot: ... MAN THE HARPOONS! IT'S MOBY ... A giant squid rose above the surface of the water and began to wave its tentacles around violently. Teddylot: Scratch that. It's nothing. |

| Kirby: Holy cucco! What the heck is a squid that size doing in this lake!? I have to run below deck and shoot that thing down! Kirby climbed over the random pieces of junk laid across the dhingy sized "ship". He aimed the cannon at the ferocious beast and pulled hard on the cord attatched to the cannon. Fwoom. Kirby: Fwoom? This is an air cannon? Argh. Maybe I can toss this thing on its head. ------------ "Hey, let me see! What's going on?" "Stop moving like that! You're going to make me lose my balance!" Ka'nae struggled to poke his head out from under Nakase's cloak. The girl was trying very hard to keep the little dragon hidden, while keeping an eye on what should have been a creature from the sea. One good smack from one of the tentacles, and the boat will go down. She must stay on her toes. SPLASH! The hard splashing sound next to the edgy Nakase was enough to make her jump off the boat. She frantically flailed her arms, trying her best to stay above the water. Unfortunately, her large robes were giving her a hard time, as they were already weighing her down as she tried to get out of the murky drink. -------------- Kirby: Ugh... that thing was so heavy.. I couldn't toss it far enough... Ahoy! Lass over-- Holy cucco, what am I doing? Teddylot! Quick! Do you have anything to hit that squid with?! There's someone in the water! Hurry before it's too late! Coo: I say! The bugger has already spotted her! --------------- The kraken already locked its eyes on the unfortunate girl. It shot out one of its long appendages over to Nakase. Unable to control herself, she began to sink into the water. She soon felt pressure wrapped around her wasit. Ka'nae was caught within the grasp, underneath all the robes. Nakase dug her nails into the tentacle, but the squid didn't even flinch. She was pulled out of the water and hoisted into the air. All of the children around were too shocked to even scream. Wasn't there someone who could save her? A hero among the annoying brats? The next thing brunette knew, she was sitting back on her boat. She opened her eyes, wiping away the water on her face. Ka'nae managed to poke his head out through the neck opening, and began wheezing for air. "Nakase! Are we alright?" The girl turned her head to look at the squid. The same tentacle that grabbed her was now patting her head. The squid retracted its tentacle and began to sink back into the depths. -------------------------- Kirby's jaw was left hanging. Kirby: ..... Welcome to Hogwarts  |

| Luke only looked half surprised, he was struggling to get his robes straight as he almost jumped into the water before feeling that the squid was going to help. He waved to the squid squid almost laughing to see the tentacle wave back. He looked down at the half drowned Nakase, and held a hand out to help her up. "At least the squid didn't eat you." Luke smirked and whatched the last tentacle of the giant squid disappear. Luke looked over to Janus, expecting him to have almost jumped in too, but he still kept his hand out. "You dummy, you're already on the boat." "Oh... um.." "Met the squid, have yeh?" The boat that was seating a massive bulk of a man was heading its way towards Nakase, Luke, and Janus. He slowly took off his hairy coat and placed it ontop of Nakase. The girl felt like she could live inside of the coat. "Should keep yeh warm 'till we get inside. We've almost reached shore." |

| Teddylot: Wow, didn't see that one coming... Zap: Tell me about it. With everyone mesmerized on the incident (and some with the girl,) nobody was paying attention to what was in front of them ... the shore ... with a few pointy rocks. ... Teddylot: Arr, the ship's been capsized, and we've been marooned. The boat was almost in pieces and its various items were scattered around it. However luckily, nobody was hurt. The boat's occupants were standing on the beach looking down on the wreck and waiting for the other boats to reach the shore. Teddylot: I've been able to salvage a ping pong paddle and some lint, what about you guys? |

| Luke jumped off the boat and dragged it ashore, without getting wet amazingly enough. Luke looked towards the castle and walked towards it, he was clueless as what could happen now, but he was ready for it. "Lets go, waiting around here won't do any good." Luke walked forward when he noticed the giant waving and pointing towards the castle. |

| Kirby: Oi... Where did those rocks come from? And why was our boat heading straight to the only rocks here? The boy was dragging his luggage towards the docks, where the rest of the students were getting off on. Only Kirby's pants were wet, since he had managed to leap out before the boat capsized. Spotting Luke, Kirby decided to take a detour. He kept on walking until he was next to the boat that had the girl with the massive fur coat. Kirby: Hey.. um.. I'd like to say sorry about that.. The girl looked at him with a confused looked on her face. Kirby: Sorry about startling you like that. See, I was trying to toss this heavy thing at the squid.. but um... It was too heavy. The girl narrowed her eyes as she understood what he said. She hopped out of the boat, and turned her head, whipping Kirby with her drenched hair. She let out a low growl and started walking. Kirby: I said sorry... geeze... As Kirby walked towards the path leading to some stairs, Kirby heard someone laughing nearby. He turned his head to look at the one who was laughing, and saw someone on fire. Kirby: Holy cucco! Your head is on fire! Student: Say what? Kirby instinctly kneeled down and put his hands into the water. He began to toss water at the burning child. It didn't seem to be doing anything at all. Student: *spits* What the bloody hell are you doing? Kirby: I'm trying... wait.. the fire's hanging down on your head... The student's flaming red hair, once standing up in spikes, was now soaked and all over his face. A vein began to throb on his forehead. Kirby: ... oh... that's.. your hair.. um... I.. I'm.. sorry.... The edge Kirby was next to gave way. The boy lost his footing and immediately fell into the lake. The lad with bright red hair began to laugh. | Luke ignored the events behind him and was looking around into a hall of sorts. The students were making their way to a big room, but Luke fell back a few position, he didn't feel like being first to enter a room, and it was half smart of him to fall back. When the majority of the kids reached the end of the hall an elderly woman was speaking. "Ah, the first year students have arrived, now we can begin." "What is she talking about?" Luke heard a few of the kids whisper near by, not sure of what was going on. Luke waited calmly, hoping that he didn't have to worry about being first. (edited by Kirbynite on 01-06-05 04:49 PM) |

| Umino was the first to walk into the dining hall, and tipped his hat to the woman as he entered. He strode at a leisurely pace up to a large table near the front of the room, and took a seat on the end, setting his briefcase down beside him. He appeared to be calmly oblivious of the giant squid 'attack' that had happened moments before. | |||

| ((Geeze... no one felt like doing the entrance, huh? Bah.)) "Welcome to Hogwarts" said the elderly woman. "Professor McGonagall will take it from 'ere." said the towering man. Hagrid gave a smile to Nakase, who still had the hairy tent on her, as he walked towards the same doorway Umino walked through. Nakase could hear lots of muffled voices behind the large doors. Was this where the older students were? She had suddenly remembered the reason why she was here when Ka'nae spoke. "What are we going to do? We him--" "Shush. Maybe they have some name calling ceremony.. or.." "Nakase... " "... I.. I know.. but... " She really didn't want to think about the consequences about anything. She huddled in the fur coat, refusing to think of what might happen. Everyone started to crowd into a small, empty chamber next to the hallway doors. "Welcome to Hogwarts" said Professor McGonagall. "The start-of-the-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory and spend free time in your house common room. The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff--" A few students snickered. "Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule-breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the House Cup, a great honour." Nakase noticed the idiot with the bird on his head muttering something about subtitles and foreign spelling. "I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours. The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting. I shall return when we are ready for you. Please wait quietly." And with that, the elderly woman left the children to themselves. Nakase didn't know what to think. Maybe she had a chance to slip by. She had gotten this far, maybe she could pretend to be like she belonged there! Ka'nae knew what she was thinking, noted in his whispering.. "What if you have to perform something to be 'sorted'?"
