Hours after you start, the stack hasn't gotten smaller? I can't seem to figure out why this would be unless the weight of the upper papers compressed the lower ones so when they're removed it expands a bit. Which to be fair isn't terribly implausible. It's still annoying. (edited by Kratos Aurion on 11-23-04 03:56 PM) |

Not everyone uses the same scheme, so it shows up fine {though painful; dark blue on dark brown, ugh} It's the law of Thesepaperswillnevergoaway; you can sort through them all you want but they keep appearing. (incidentally I think you're right... after all, a 12 inch stack of 100 empty folders will be 22 inches with 200, probably, so... yeah) |

hmm...it depends on what you are sorting..if the pile of papers isn't neat, then yeah, it seems like it isn't getting smaller. otherwise, it isn't that bad...but anyways, why do you have to sort a large stack of papers?

Yes... Today I had to take 360 pages of photocopied physics notes and sort them into 8 booklets of 45... while putting them in order.... really booorrrriiiing. It seemed to take forever. When I finished, it seemed like each of the 8 piles (not very neatly stacked) were the half the height of the original 360 page pile (neatly stacked). Next time, (hopefully there won't be a next time) I'm going to get only ONE copy, and get the school secratary to photocopy them with AUTO SORT AND STAPLE. (Why didn't I do this in the first place?) |

Homework? No. No. No. No. No. Homework is easy. Sorting files to be placed in medical charts is not.

Speak for yourself! English class especially is just horrible for piling it on. At the moment we're working on two book reviews, several little assignments, a huge essay, multiple tests, and several other things I can't remember at the moment. Plus all the other classes. If they can't make school 24 hours, they'll just assign 24 hours worth of work a day.

It's because whenever you turn around/leave your desk for a moment, they dump another pile on your desk. It's what I like to call the "wheels are always moving" thingy. |
