Bah, I always liked getting the extra heart.

For experienced players the only time hearts should really matter is on a minimalist game while facing Trinexx or Ganon... those are some toughies.

Strangely, my main problem with minimalist Trinexx was hitting him with the stupid rods. Unless, again, I'm missing something and you can skip that step, I always found myself running out of magic and having to mirror out and start over.

. Well yeah that too. That also sucks. I think you can miss once, maybe twice if you manage to get enough sword swings in between rod usages. I've never done it with the Level 1 sword but someone on gamefaqs was recently talking about it. Kind of sounds improbable since it's hard even with the Master Sword.

I'm sure I could beat the game in getting the absolute minimum amount of hearts, since I've been playing it since I was 5. When I play it I pretty much don't think, I just push buttons and next thing you know I'm standing before the Triforce. I guess when I usually run through the game, I just get all heart peices that I can because I like to look at the menu and see to it that I have everything. |

heh...that is my problem with RPGs, I want to get everything or most of everything I know first time through--which is why I never finish them... anyways, I've beaten this game only once...but I've tried playing it tons of times... I wonder if I can beat this without getting extra heart containers... |

I beat the third dungeon before the second on the SNES version to see if I could get the Master Sword early. I knew things didn't look good when it told me "Go for the last [pendant]!", and sure enough, the game wasn't fooled. Ah well. |

Well... in the Dark World the crystal girls will say their speeches normally even when you sequence break. So even if you already know Ganondorf = Ganon they'll still tell you, for example. Kind of dumb but hey I wouldn't expect them to go to additional trouble.

Apparently in the Dark World,it IS possible to simply skip several of the bosses altogether. Note that I don't know if they fixed this in the GBA version. EDIT: Damn, I was going to make #1000 in the W00t I'm home thread. Oh well. (edited by Emptyeye on 12-01-04 08:25 PM) |

They did. By cheating, I went to Turtle Rock, and rescued Zelda, without touching another dungeon. She said I still had to save some of the other maidens

As I recall you need all the crystals in the SNES version. But mine is a player's choice edition, and those types of editions are known for major bug fixes.

Maybe. If I'm reading correctly, you only have to complete dungeons five, six and seven (I presume five and six are so you can get the Super Bomb). I haven't yet tried this on either my SNES or GBA version. |
