... for your avatar? That's not even working? An avatar is just an image, so it would be better off to just edit the image and tone the transparency down in photoshop or something.

Well animated gifs are composed of frames, and sonic there is on a base frame with a background color. Just delete that frame, save it up and you're set.

Yeah the problem is that you didn't make the animation yourself. If you did, each Sonic Shadow frame would have transparency, and their would be a layer behind it all with a background color. Unfortunately that isnt the case obviously, which you can see here when I busted it out in Image Ready:

See every frame has that green background. So, what you would need to do is crop (cut out) Shadow from every frame to get rid of that background color. That might be a tedious process.

If you're hosting images for a layout, I advise you get hosting that doesn't suck (geoshitties/angelfire work nicely)

And for the bg not being transparent, you're all wrong. All he should do is set the BG color (it's green, obviously) as "Transparent" in all of the frames, he doesn't have to crop it (that'd still leave the problem), delete the base frame (that wouldn't work, either, unless every frame besides that one has transparancy... not to mention it may not be set to "Remove by nothing", it's probably "remove by background"...)

From the looks of it, the problem was resolved anyway.


YD: for the record, I'm using IE and just cut/pasted it and it worked fine, it's probably MacIE that's fucking up.

(god, I wish I had GIF Construction Set Professional right now)
