I thought of somethibg while looking through the board layouts.
How about a way to create your very own custom layout? A page with boxes like "Picture at the top: ", "Background picture: ", "Table top background image: " and so on? It could be good for those who are tired of the existing layouts.

I agree, I think there should be an option to make a cutom scheme, I think ive tried all the existing ones...and it doesnt even have to appear in the scheme list, you can make it so only the people that made it can use it,

Well, I was thinking about a personal scheme for the creator only (but I forgot to write about it). Maybe there also could be a feature to give a custom scheme to someone? tradescheme.php: Finished right after search.php and shop.php.

A scheme only needs these entries, that's the default one from an AcmlmBoard 1.8a copy. I don't think schemes syntax changed too much until 1.93b3, since no one was added for a longer time
But it might not be bad ... *thinks about a Rudra no Hihou scheme *

$bgimage="";
$bgcolor="000000";
$textcolor="E0E0E0";
$linkcolor="FFD040";
$linkcolor2="F0A020";
$linkcolor3="FFEA00";
$linkcolor4="FFFFFF";
$malecolor="97ACEF";
$femalecolor="FEABED";
$bannedcolor="999999";
$tablebg1="000060";
$tablebg2="000036";
$categorybg="001080";
$tableheadtext="FFFFFF";
$tableheadbg="0050A0";
$tableborder="0070C0";
?>

So these entries might be required to fill in checkboxes. People must not be too dumb for that, as for using the same colours for all links and backgrounds - a preview option with s small test setup of a small index.php or a thread might help

If you're going to the whole trouble of that, why bother with the custom scheme? Why don't you just send it in as an actual scheme and see if it's good enough to be added for the list, for others?

but then, what if no one adds it, then you would never get to see it...thats why the whole custom idea would be pretty neat.

I guess it depends, what if there person who made it liked it, but anyone who could add it, thought it sucked.

Because nobody who can add it ever got around to it? Besides, how exactly do you make a custom board scheme?

I had a similar idea like this, having custom text above the 'X users currently in Forum' text, which would both have HTML, including stuff like Javascript and filters, enabled (since the person who put it there is the only one who would see it, so they can't do anything malicious) and the &soandso& tags. It'd be even cooler if you could specify custom text/HTML for various things like the top image, 'X users in Forum' text, view count (so that you could, for example, feed the number to an image generator), time/date (including format, I think the PHP Date function accepts a format string), just above the text box in pages like newreply.php, and the bottom of the page. This would allow for all sorts of customization, including custom CSS.

I'm not exactly sure in this case...I'm not sure if the board still uses PHP files (because the old ones did) and not something that's directly on the database. But, I know Surlent's post is a basic example of a board scheme on 1.8 type boards at least. So if it's the same, or an easy copy, it wouldn't take much to put in. Just an admin able to go to PMA...but make sure your scheme works though. Takes me several tries to get right sometimes. :\

I wonder, but are there any big diffrences between the colour schemes 1.9 haves and 1.8?

...I swear it was something like that, but i'm not sure.

They have custom layouts at Randy's board. Its pretty cool, and you can save the config of it so others can use it. So it could be implemented here. It would be cool, but it isn't NEEDED or anything.

Is there someway i can give my table options, or if this were implemented, would i be able to change table cell spacing, padding etc.

It's just on my monitor its rather hard to read, i have already removed all those annoying message formats so its plain next (no offence, some of them look really good, but they kill my 800x600 screen), but 1px or 2px cellpadding would be easier on the eyes
