I think only the countries were people are born and raised should be included. F.ex, if you're an American and have moved to China (why should you?), China wouldn't count.

That box-feature Smallhacker mentioned back there is a good idea.

And if we created a new map like most of you say, it should:
1 - show how many people there are from each country. Or:
2 - the numbers should be compared to the number of people in each country

Oh, I'm sorry that Argentina isn't there, I didn't know that you were from there. I will add it next time.

not really, I think it should be the country they are in now, not where they are from...that way the information is more accurate.

Maybe you're right. What I mean: If one of your grandparents is from f.ex. Russia, but you always have lived in the country you do, that country counts, not Russia. But if you came from Russia 2 years ago or something, you're still from Russia. In other words; the place you've stayed longest...

I dunno, I still think it should be wherever you are, not where you lived the longest...then you can get alot of mixed results...

Location is probably easiest for this map. The only exceptions would be something like SomerZ a year+ ago, when he went to the States for a year.

Just where you're permanently residing. No holidays, or things like that.

But when I'm living as an exchange student in Texas, what would you list as my home-place, huh? I was there for 11 months, so I wouldn't exactly call it a "holiday", but then again, I was never a permanent resident. It's kind of tricky question, no?

The place you're permanently residing, yes, that's right.

SomerZ: You were going to return to Norway again, so you were still a Norwegian

Norway. You're a Norwegian citizen *AND* you were returning to Norway.

I wouldn't put down "Japan" as my country if I was studying abroad there for a year.

Yes, that's what I mean too.

It should be possible to find a timezone map on the net. At least, I know that Western-Europe ( - U.K.) has the same time. Europe only has a few timezones. America is divided into four or something.

Venezuela will be added.

You mean you were born and raised in Russia, have lived there most of your life and may return? If so, I'll add it.

I came up with an idea of what the "world map & member statistics "could look like, but if that would be included, someone would have to add it to the board / profiles.......
I may add a picture of what I mean, even though I know it will never be added
