One thing is sure. Format c: is overated unless you like booting from a: (tested once on a old computer with just dos, it still didn't format if I wrote format c: . Said disc was in use... <.<). But go "del /F /S /Q *". |

Haven't checked your link, but I remember seeing this a few weeks ago on Slashdot and having a look. I did find it interesting that while Linux absolutely shat itself, Windows on the other hand ... well... shat itself, but tried to pretend that it didn't Or course, at least with the Linux machine, you KNEW Windows was broken, wheras with Windows, it was a little deceptive, and you only know when you reboot. |

Heh, I orginally got this from slashdot for awhile ago. But I thought about it again recently and therefore decided to spread it out. And well, intresting seeing how some things are in-built in Windows command. While Linux have things as seperate programs... which actually is a good thing sometimes but not with rm -rf. Now, how do you destroy an Macintosh? |

With an old Mac, you can't just drag the System and Finder apps to the trash, it won't even let you move them if I recall correctly. You need to start from a floppy or a CD. With Mac OS X you can use the same rm -rf commands (in combination with sudo ofcourse to gain root access).

Yeah, I remember trying to drag all the folders on a mac in school, but they had something setup, so I could only delete stuff in my own folder under my username...so I had no luck...

I wonder what'd happen if you did this? 1) Get a virtual drive program (RAMdisk or some such) and create a big virtual drive in RAM. 2) Put your swap file on the virtual drive. 3) Start using up RAM like crazy. I bet Windoze just goes nuts. |

hmm...i don't think windows will go nuts. I've used up all the VM on my computer before and it only screwed up the application that was eating up RAM. anyways, del with all those flags |
