After numerous tutorials and excellent tips, I made an awesome border for my upcoming site. (edited by The_Raven on 11-12-04 08:38 PM) (edited by The_Raven on 11-12-04 08:38 PM) |

Wow, you managed to use paths and blending options. Still, the border doesn't look bad. And the whole banner itself looks pretty sharp. |

Everything from the car to the hexagonal pattern was done from scratch. But I still give credit to GreyCobra.com for the neat "icebeam" tutorial.

80KB = much too large for people on dialup. Looks great though. |

I'd have to say though, the car is certainly impressive.

It's from one of Raven's games I think (or so I remember). He's a god at spriting, as is DxEdge.

Originally posted by windwaker Yep. I wonder the size of the rest of your site, hah. I had to hit reload picture four times to get out of the red x. It was strange. Anyway, I like the way it looks. The whole banner is nice and crisp, and the car fits in lovely. |

If you're using photoshop, play with the 'save for web' options to downsize it. There's a bit too much contrast between your border (just plain grey bevelle and emboss) and everything else (nice looking effects gallore!). Give your border some texture (metallic tutorials might be a good option) and it's perfect. |
