Well, I like Rock, but generally not Metal. I don't find Metal to be particularly melodic, and I tend to like a good melody. I like a lot of Rock and Alternative, Punk and Ska, and a few things that are Pop. I don't like ALL Pop (ie, Britney Spears) but there is a lot of music that could be classified as Pop (ie, Ben Folds) that I absolutely adore. Ben Folds writes gorgeous pop songs. I like a little Dance, and some electronica. I like a lot of quirky songs. Offbeat stuff. I am the only person I know that loves Spiderbait's "Glockenpop". |

Eh, I avoid nu-metal a lot, but I remember a lot of 80's metal too. Which I don't like either. Not least cause of the hair. | |||

You know, a lot of metalheads don't even consider hair metal to be real metal. It's like the nu-metal of this day and age. |

In High School, I was a grungie. Some Grunge is quite melodic. Still, I haven't been into "heavier" music in a while. I guess I no longer need music that helps me "get my angries out". And I have to admit, Grunge helped with that. It also helped me be a depressed teenager. |

THRASH METAL! I love me the thrash metal, listening to Vukodlak or Gehennah is totally rockin'. Then there are all of those European black metal bands, and the occasional Canadian/American one. Chaotic War Metal like Conqueror or Black Witchery has to be way up there, Canada is the pioneer in Chaotic War Metal. And it totally owns. Right now I'm getting more and more into rap. In fact, I listened to NWA straight for 6 hours playing Star Craft one night. I'm really starting to get into it. For me, I'm about music that just nails how I think. Or makes me laugh. The first category generally encompasses a lot of punk. The second category encompasses all of that racist stuff that I collect on my hard drive for laughtaculity. You can't say you hate it until you sit back when you're stoned and just laugh your ass off to "White Power" by Skrewdriver or some Johnny Rebel. |

If you like NWA and you are not easily offended, download some NWH. Funny stuff. And you'll learn stuff too. Like that a Butt is like Society. And now White Man has oppressed the Black Man by making them work in the sun without a Hat... You should enjoy it. (edited by Tarale on 11-10-04 09:53 PM) |

My two main favorite genres are British Indie (aka Britpop) and Grunge (of which I am a bigger fan of Britpop than of Grunge), which makes 1994 kind of an important year for me, music-wise (the death of grunge music's biggest icon; Kurt Cobain, and the debut of Britpop's biggest icons; Oasis). Favorite bands affiliated with Britpop: Oasis, Blur, Ash, The Stone Roses, Pulp, Supergrass, Manics, Echobelly, Mansun, Travis, Steadman, Starsailor Favorite bands affiliated with Grunge: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Bush, Foo Fighters |

My favorite types of Music; Dance ( GOOD Dance, not the Eric Pardyz crap thats in the charts! ) , Techno, Trance, Hard House ( Not House, most of the stuff in it is CRAP! ) I do lidten to other types of music, but generally thats what I buy... or download because getting such music in modern R ' n ' B / Rap / Hip - Hop infested Ireland is almost next to impossible! My favorite bands in those genes would include; Scooter ( Yes, I like Scooter, favorite band, in fact ) Specail D, DJ Sammy, L Project, Flip 'n' Fill, Starsplash, Gigi D'Agostino ( Own an album of his thats IMPOSSIBLE to get in Ireland! ) I also have a thing for Scooter's track ' The Night ' , its one of my favorite tracks and I've got about 9 remixes of it from various sources! I'm into Metal. I Like pretty much "legendary" bands: Metallica, ACDC, Iron Maiden ..... to name the most well known. And when I say Metallica, I'M talking about Kill 'em all, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All. (Hehe, I'm currently listening to Creeping Death (Live on September 24th, 1986) (edited by DarkSlaya on 11-14-04 07:41 PM) |

I don't have anything specific ... I just kind of randomly like stuff. To name a few: Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Symphony X, Edguy, Faith no More, Quiet Riot, Gun's n' Roses, Pink Floyd, ACDC, Iron Maiden, Metallica (Black Album and before), and some other stuff that I can't think of ... Favorite Genre: Speed Metal, Symphonic Metal, Thrash. I also enjoy heavy Trance. And, being a videogame guru, I enjoy mainly any videogame score from Megaman 2, to Chrono Cross. Things I love to hate, with no offense intended. - Punk Rock - nu Metal - Grudge - Rap Hip / Hop, but I can stand "old skool" Beastie Boys, Run DMC, etc... - Country, good lord. =) (edited by Xeogred on 11-20-04 02:13 AM) |

I just recently completed my Smashing Pumpkins album collection, so take a wild leapin' guess. In all seriousness, I am a rock 'n' roll fan for all its forms. The 70's produced the best stuff, but I think if the 90's had been left to mature without the invasion of studio pop, it would have outshadowed the 70's. I am curious though, I rarely see the Pumpkins get a mention. Does nobody else care for them? ---Evil Peer (edited by Evil Peer on 11-21-04 06:58 PM) |

I am a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan, some of my favorite songs being 'Eye' 'The End is The Begining is The End' 'Tonight Tonight' 'Ava Adore' 'Perfect' and 'Stand Inside Your Love'. Since they disbanded however, I've had to look elsewhere for music that I like. I've found that I like any type of Disco music (don't look at me that way... ), Techno of any kind, Rave, and this really odd older Swedish band Army of Lovers...heh... |

Velvet Revolver Guns N' Roses A Perfect Circle Tool Deftones Staind cKy Rage Against the Machine Soundgarden Audioslave Offspring Metallica (exclude St. Anger) Megadeth Motorhead Crystal Method Massive Attack Those are some. Yeah, I like mainly all types of rock except for a lot of that "nu-metal" crap. Just a bunch of abused teens whinning into the mic about how much their life sucks, or whatnot. Some of it can be listened to, but just plain sucks, and some of it is just not listenable at all. I also happen to like some techno/trance stuff. |
